Hi, were you able to get the lenses in Nigeria? My friend is in a similar situation and I am trying to find out if it is available in Nigeria. I know this was posted a while back, but hoping for a reply. |
oh dear! I'm trying to plan a trip to Nigeria for the family and came across la campagne tropicana on facebook. My research brought me here, not encouraging feedback here at all. please can the people who have had a good time tell us what they enjoyed there. or maybe I should just pack our cooler of jollof rice ,hire a danfo and face badagry beach :-) |

@carlosein my information is from medical books but i found the info below on the uk sickle cell society website What are haemoglobin SC disease (Hb SC) and Sickle Beta-Thalassaemia (Hb S-Thal)? These conditions occur when someone inherits sickle haemoglobin (Hb S) from one of their parents and either haemoglobin C or Beta-Thalassaemia from the other parent. The symptoms of these two conditions are often similar to, but usually less severe than, those of sickle cell anaemia. People with Sickle Cell Anaemia, Sickle Beta -Thalassaemia and SC disease can have problems with sight, although this retinopathy is more likely to occur in Hb SC individuals http://www.sicklecellsociety.org/education/healthpr.htm#anchor209100 |
Haemoglobin C exists it's not a typo. It's another haemoglobin variant which in combination with Haemoglobin S results in sickle cell disease. It's not as common as haemoglobin S AC is a healthy carrier of Haemoglobin C @poster why not post this in the health forum, you'll get more responses there. |
The chances of having children with sickle cell disease is the same as when AS and AS have kids 1 in 4 chance of SC-sickle cell disease but may not be as severe as SS( but they are still sickle cell disease sufferers) 1 in 4 chance of AC 1 in 4 chance of AS 1 in 4 chance of AA-normal genotype Bottom line is they risk having sicklecell children. just like AS/AS couples |
if you want to marry a husband never marry a waka about, etc was Nelly Uchendu i think. |
money(lots of it),then fulfillment |
I heard this on nite of a thousand laughs vcd recently.could this be your unreliable source? |
Oh dear! this rather worrying. we only just opened an account with them because it seemed a cheaper option for sending money home than using western union or moneygram. I wonder if some hidden charges are going to spring up when we use them. |
shaddyfr:why is everybody saying parents can't spank their kids abroad? As far as I'm aware the law says you can smack in certain cicumstances and you should not spank enough to leave a mark on the child. That leaves the door open to black people who smack their kids. Smacking is not the only way to discipline children.too much of it becomes ineffective. @ topic. sending a 13 yr old boy to school in nigeria can be good, lots of people do it. it depends on your circumstances. personally I wouldn't do it. My kids are 7 and 4. I feel it is my duty to be around my kids.I am not against boarding school(I went to one myself) but I saw my parents every 2 weeks when they came to visit. I can't imagine doing less for my child. and naija would be too far and expensive for 2 weekly visits. It would have to be a private school here. |
she should have declared the money.$92k!!!!!!! I'm obviously in the wrong country and very wrong profession.$92k, $92k , $92k , $92k.casssssh.olopa o! |
same job I'm doing now,was lucky enough to have a sister and my brother in law who let me stay without paying for anything while I did my exams. I know my sister worked cleaning in hotels, shop assistant in mark one, tesco and now a surveyor. |
it's 1 am and i've just finished packing my garri and epa for my weekend away with hubby and kids. we will be having a bbq and i have packed my plantains as well. so i will be enjoying some nice garri with boli and epa.i'm luving it already ![]() if they ban garri i would be forced to protest at downing street or move back to the source -Ijebu |
don't get angry. call her. small talk won't kill you-how are you, work etc, just called to say hi.less than a min conversation. let it be seen especially to your mum in law that you are making an effort. you are lucky ur mum in law is nice to you.try and keep it that way. the sister is trying to get some rxn out of you so she can have something to say about you. be patient the girl will tire!and leave you alone. |
why leave?when you can go to ann summers and get a rabbit. I work with a lady whose husband had cancer of the penis diagnosed soon after their 1st child,he had to have it removed .they are still together 22 years later. |
I agree with english one and cute-ass just keep your cool with her and don't start becoming bitchy to her. The most important thing is the relationship between you and your hubby. no matter how bad his sister is, if you start being bitchy to her he will find it hard to always take your side. As the years go on in your marriage the sister will realise you are there to stay whether she likes it or not and you will both work out a way to get along (not necessarily best of friends but at least a civil relationship with each other.) as you said 'ile oko ile eko ni'. 9yrs into my marriage i can tell you I have become a politician when it comes to my in-laws. i'm sure your sister in law has her good points with time you will see more of the good side. |
Atiku asking people to protest!!!!!! what a sick joke ![]() no, i will not join. |
any one who calls my hubby's mobile is expecting to speak to him, not me and vice versa. if he hides in the bathroom to answer the phone, then THAT is another matter! |
are you sure it's love and not lust? if you are really in love with your boyfriend the thought of being in love with someone else shouldn't even occur to you. |
I assumed he was being sarcastic |
I don't know if he is related. but I'm sure a few nigerian families can can trace their family's wealth back to the slave trade era. |
I read on-line he was 79. 76 or 79, what is a man that age doing trying to run for presidency of a country like nigeria. |

I look at the politics forum, someone makes a comment and by the 3rd 4th response the forum has degenerated to name calling etc and you can see the different camps championing their heroes(obj, babangida, etc) always seems to be the same arguement.gets too boring.it's like being in a beer parlour with men trying to sound like they know what they are talking about. |
If we ask the Queen to apologise for her ancestors.should our African leaders also be apologising for our ancestors. According to history the whites stayed in places like Badagry and the blacks, our ancestors(kings, warlords, etc) captured slaves and sold to the whites in exchange for guns copper etc. Are any African leaders aware that it is 200 years since the abolition of slavery? I don't know who Toyin Abgetu is .Is he a black african or a black carribean/american who has adopted an african name. If he is a Nigerian/African, can he honestly say he knows what role his ancestors played in slavery.should he be apologising? black and whites fought for slave trade to be abolished. Madam Tinubu was a renowned slave trader before she fought against it? should her descendants be apologising? the slave trade would not have lasted 300 years without help from the africans, sometimes i wonder if all the problems in africa is a backlash from all the atrocitities commited in the past. now the white man doesn't need to come and kidnap the black man,he/she is ready to go to astonishing lenghts to get visas to come and sweep his roads. ![]() |
someone once told my dad to rub urine on his head daily so his hair could grow back. eeeew! thankfully he didn't he still has his lovely bald head that his grandkids like touching. |
