phienixboss:The solution is somewhat simple. Invest heavily in agriculture, solid mineral mining and for God's sake build industries that will turn raw materials to finish products that can service the needs of Nigerians. How can we, as a country with lots of rain forests, be importing tooth-pics, with iron ore be importing iron for buildings. i just cant understand really. |
Truth be told, our president is just giving excuses why he cant fulfill his pre-election promises. how is it possible that in the seventies and early eighties jobs where available to secondary school holders (even in these oil companies that will not consider you except you made a 2.1 and you are 23) but now the millions of young graduates are not employable. even with masters and PHDs degrees. |
hello guys, supper sport 3 (channel 223) isn't showing the match. Is it just my decoder or that's the new DSTV trend. if it is so then it means a compact plus subscription won't be enough to you watch the BPL matches again. that's really pathetic. |
http://go.engineer-ng.net/forum/topics/as-nigeria-struggles-with-4-000mw-kenya-moves-to-build-1gw-of-ele As Nigeria Struggles With 4,000mw, Kenya Moves To Build 1gw Of Electricity Posted by The ENGINEERING NETWORK Team on July 28, 2015 at 10:14am in Engineering NewsView Discussions While Nigeria continues to celebrate power generation of about 5,000 megawatts, another African country, Kenya, has begun moves to build one gigawatts. While a megawatt is one million watts, a gigawatt is one billion watts. On Sunday, the Kenyan Ministry of Energy and Petroleum signed a landmark contract with SkyPower, the world’s largest developer and owner of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) energy projects for one gigawatts of world-class solar projects to be built in four phases in Kenya over the next five years. The monumental US $2.2 billion agreement was signed in Nairobi, Kenya at the sixth annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES). Initiated by the U.S. government in 2010, the conference gathers entrepreneurs at all stages of business development, business leaders, mentors and high-level government officials to help increase support for innovators and job creators around the world. GES 2015 hosted an unprecedented convention of high-level leaders from around the globe, including U.S. President Barack Obama and H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya. SkyPower proudly sponsored the summit as an official Solar Energy Partner. “Kenya has become an African hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, and SkyPower is proud to contribute to this unprecedented milestone in Kenya’s ambitious renewable energy plan,” said SkyPower President and Chief Executive Officer Kerry Adler. “SkyPower’s solar projects will help Kenya realize its electrification goals, support the development of the country’s renewable energy industry and help the development of strong communities, generating a brighter future for all.” “We are very pleased to work with a world-leader in solar energy like SkyPower,” said Henry Rotich, Cabinet Secretary of the Kenyan Ministry of Energy and Petroleum. “Sustainable electrification is a central policy issue in Kenya, and we are committed to making this a reality for our citizens, while accelerating economic growth in the process.” “SkyPower’s US $2.2 billion investment will create more than 25,000 total job years in Kenya and includes 200 MW of fabrication and assembly facilities, as well as a commitment of US $173 million toward education, training, and research and development,” said SkyPower Executive Vice President Charles Cohen. SkyPower has a long history of working closely with local communities to produce hundreds of millions of kilowatt hours (kWh) of clean electricity every year, while ensuring that those closest to the developments reap the rewards of new jobs, education, skills training and accessible energy. |
120 hand shakes, means there was a total of 240 hands that took part. if there where 16 people, one person will shake 15 other hands, (240 hands in total) thus the answer is 16. |
Please Nairalanders help me answer this question, to build a road and to buy a bus which is more expensive? GEJ's achievement to me is in the construction of these connecting rail tracks to various parts of the country (most trains use this same kind of track except the maglev trains and some very high speed trains). It is left for the Coaches to be upgraded and more rail lines to be constructed thus reducing the burden on our roads. At least for the transportation of Goods from place to place. |
A capacitive touch screen works through the principle of a capacitor. A capacitor consists of two conductors and a dielectric substance meshed between it. When voltage (a difference in potential) is applied between these two plates, charges are stored in the dielectric substance. For a capacitive touch screen, the glass acts as the dielectric substance, the bottom conductor in most cases is in a grid like format, while the top conductor is your finger. The bottom conductor remains in a fixed potential level. The human hand (skin) has some electric charge that is unique to almost all humans, thus when you touch your screen a potential difference is created at that point and charges are stored in the dielectric. This charge is sensed and transmitted to you phone's processor which compares the amount of charge with what is stored in memory ie it tries to recognise if it's a human's touch. Thus your phone responds to your touch (skin) and not to a whole lot of other stuffs. |
jide333:Please stop being sentimental. Dullardinio have not done anything in office (no capital project, ministers to pay, etc) and nigeria is earning money daily. So there is bound to be excess revenue which can be saved. So that is really not an accomplishment in my books. |
atlwireles:The truth is that, we as a country are sometime not really sincere with our selves. This blatant stealing of our money (fuel importation/subsidy scheme) started before GEJ and madueke's administration. Thus placing all the blame on these two people is not the correct thing to do. Although they didn't do anything to stop the gross stealing in the oil sector they are also not the sole reason behind this theft. I hope our president will not toe their line but work tirelessly to reduce this stealing to its barest minimum. |
Congratulations men, wish you success in your new job. |

MARKone:Bross, you get sense. He can teach his gun making techniques to engineering staffs in the military. His expertise might also be useful in reverse engineering of some modern guns we buy with huge money from abroad. |
Allee90:Statements like this will put this country in trouble. Nigeria belongs to Nigerians and not to the north. |
vivaciousvivi:I like people that are objective in assessing any situation. We as a people have failed, simple as that. The leaders are reaping us off daily and we are not able to stand up and oppose them (when we clearly have the advantage over these leaders), our youths are not thinking of solving crucial challenges facing this country but are focused on quick ways to make so much money to gain respect like our stealing politicians. We need to re evaluate ourselves as a people. We need to change the way we think fast else we will never recover from the path of destruction we are heading to. Peace, God bless Nigeria and Nigerians. |
Although I understand what our president elect is trying to say, that type of reasoning is what is killing our dear country. If oil is found in a land you've purchased in the US, that oil is yours to keep and you pay tax to the government for it. That's why the country is doing Well (generating a lot of avenues for wealth creation) because no body is 'checking out his neighbours wife' and looking for a way to take her. True federalism is the only thing that will make us grow as a country http://www.punchng.com/news/northerners-hold-83-per-cent-of-oil-blocks-senator/ |
titus3:2000MW is 2GW. |
fluxview:I am really interested in the PDF and videos. Please here is my email address: uyoyouosiobe@gmail.com. thanks a lot boss. |
Levels have really changed, I'am really happy with what God has done in your life. But pray for us when still dey wait on God make we be like you soon. Cheers brother. |
Yasher:But after receiving Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, you've got to PRAY to God to give you the gift of the Holy Spirit before you can receive Him, which in turn allows God's power to dwell in you. Thus you can't receive God's power without prayer. (Luke 11:13) |
barcanista:Thank you very much for this. this is what I deducted from his interview. Especially your number 3. |
Do these APC guys know that if GEJ wants to set up an interim government or plot a military coup, he can do that anytime between now and the handover ceremony? He can arrange a trip overseas and before you know it, you will hear the famous "my fellow Nigerians" on TV. They should just chill, he will definitely hand over as he knows the implication of not doing so. |
Youpele52:Looking towards China is a better way forward for our country because they are quite advanced in technologies and are willing to share ideas and invest in countries like Nigeria without quietly demanding control over key sectors in such countries. Thesame cannot be said about uncle Sam......, thus this is not a good move for Nigeria if we want to move forward. |
Yes he was the most corrupt president nigeria every had yet he was able to perform better (although not by a lot) than some of our ex-presidents. The devil you know is way better than the angel you don't know. We know all this because of the freedom of information bills he allowed to be passed into law. Hopefully the president elect will fulfil his electoral promises and restore the glory of our country nigeria. |
barcanista:This is so true. It will be very hard for this country to move forward with each individual focussing on "today" only. To get rid of these cabals and this "evil" fuel subsidy scam, We need to go through some hard times. It is the duty of the government to provide ways to mitigate the effects of these hard times. |
This just shows how greedy the elites in this country are. With this wide spread suffering and poverty, dwindling foreign reserves, lack of basic infrastructures, dead and decayed health care system, massive unemployment, so people can still openly suck this nation dry. God please Help my country. |
Ask one if the other is her sister to know who is who. Then ask the truthful sister were the road is. |
That's good news. More of this pls. |
I sincerely doubt this story. Why are no pictures of this event found anywhere. Abeg, Pics or you know the rest...... |
Basket mouth might be saying the truth. He may be using more than one generating set (Both at home and in other establishments he might have). As regards the light situation, Rome was not built in a day plus it takes more time to repair/build than to destroy. The power sector in this country has never been properly maintained and improved on since before the president came into power. So it will take a miracle for you and I to have constant light after a five years of work. Agreed the pace and level of development in this sector is slow but unlike other regimes work of improvement is going on in that sector. |
