Naijaguy12345: Nigeria must have a strong case , i doubt there is any condition.
There is always a condition, remember that massive gas reserve was just discovered in Imo State, what happens if British companies are interested in exploring it and Nigeria asked them to give up MNK?
Indispensable85: How did Nigeria government convince the UK government to give him up?
Massive gas reserve discovery in Imo State just announced by Timipre Silva, link it together and get your answer. Watch out for British companies getting the exploration licence
Naijaguy12345: Extradition is not this easy. Nigeria government definitely have strong evidence against him or someone in Kanu's camp must have leaked concrete evidence before the extradition is approved. Although Kanu choose a wrong country to stay and fight for his country, i will maintain America is the best country when it comes to fighting against your country of birth. At worst America will nailed him for something but will not hand him to Nigeria.
I am more interested in the conditions given and accepted by Nigeria before the extradition, can anyone tell us?
The agitation has gone beyond Nnamdi Kanu. Kudos to the guy he has woken up the whole country to the evil plans of Buhari and there shall be no RUGA in Yorubaland or Igboland
Joker, many Nigerians no longer remember that we have a Speaker and Senate president heading a different arm of government, they have been completely absorbed by the executive as rubber stamps. This is why Saraki has regained his lost popularity in Kwara state as 'Otoge' has been hijacked by religious fanatics breeding more poverty. Gbaja cannot implement any decision except it was approved by Buhari
jaxxy: U are very correct bt there was a question of why this only begun when Buhari came in and not b4 when Jonathan was there. The agitation May have seemed political because of the timing bt that’s not so important still.
The issue i think might be the threats and wrong rhetorics. Yes ur governors also used the agitation as bargaining chips rather that defend a true cause or atleast mediate with Fg.
Kanu wrong rhetorics against governors and Fj was unnecessary. Fulani slaves and all that. Not needed. It cud have been presented better I believe.
Mandela was not violent, his wife was aggressive abit bt he held his own and played his game correctly and got world support.
In every agitation there are key moments that changes the game if u play it correctly. Ipob missed those key moments.
The government is deceptive u have to be smarter.
The agitation had been there before Buhari, even under Obasanjo, the difference is that those previous government ignored them and arrested their leader Uwazuruike and put him in jail. Part of their agitation led to GEJ organising the national conference. Pantami rhetoric is worse than Nnamdi Kanu and he remains a serving minister defended by FG. The agitation has always been political and that's why dialogue would have helped. Mandela was regarded as a terrorist at some point by the west in alliance with the apartheid regime and sent to jail. It's actually the FG that missed key moments in their handling of the crisis that has now led to loss of lives by thinking that military might solves every problem because you are the current commander
jaxxy: U know very well they threaten governors and citizens, there were them clashes during demonstrations which led to killings and counter killings then it became a major issue just like the government wanted.
It started from wrong rhetoric and escalated to tensions and killings. Government wrongly sent in army to escalate tensions and it worked sadly.
To achieve self determination u must find a way to do it peacefully bt aggressively convincingly also. Not violence.
They have been non violent and in the process lost several members of the group who are mostly Igbos. People begged the Govt to dialogue with them about their claim of injustice but Govt refused. What is the big deal in talking with your citizens willing to discuss with you if you are a good leader? Why push them to the point of defending themselves with arms when they were willing to talk? To achieve self determination they followed the international protocol by presenting their matter to the UN and the US Congress the reason why no country in the whole world recognises their proscription and the Brits granting them asylum while they can travel openly to any country unlike Boko Haram and ISIS members
jaxxy: There was violence or clashes because of unnecessary provocative statements from Ipob which escalated in the past. Ipob even threatened governors. All this was unnecessary and provocative. Then clashes happened.
It wasn’t a direct attack from government until they were proscribed by ur governors recommendations as it was claimed erroneously however.
Wrong, many of them were killed before the proscription and some even had their corpses dumped into Ezu River. Rhetoric is not enough reason to open fire on unarmed citizens. Call for self determination is a right under UN convention. They didn't carry arms before they were proscribed as 'terrorists', meanwhile armed Fulani militia are not yet proscribed even when Miyetti Allah acknowledge responsibility for murder, arson, rape, kidnap etc
jaxxy: Ok on rare occasion yes which they get serious backlash for bt south east issue which we are talking about has been provoked especially this time around. I am stating ESN should handle its position better. Criminals maybe capitalizing on it.
Are the people killing them all the while just for protesting with flags and microphone not criminals?
jaxxy: The governors are in support of the security agencies, who are those attacking security agencies lately? It cud be ESN or Random criminal gangs using the opportunity or worst case scenario external forces. Bt ESN’s will take the blame most likely because of past and recent statements. Fg/army cannot attack unprovoked or without reason.
ESN can not attack herdsmen/bandits and same time be attacking governors, police and Fg. That is suicidal or unwise.
FG can attack without reason, tell me the reason for attacking Lekki Toll Gate
jaxxy: Was the commander killed just like that? He was a assumed a suspect in the UGM attacks. I don’t know if he was or wasn’t involved bt the governor said it was politicians with external forces. Fg acted on their own will sadly attacking ESN without any strong evidence probably because of past history and attacks bt I don’t believe ESN was responsible for these attacks on state structures.
ESN threatened revenge, how many security have we lost in 2 days, it's obvious that our security agencies don't have local support in SE making them more vulnerable, how can they get information, where will they run for cover if attacked without being exposed by the locals. Buhari is not even in charge, he can't have an open interview to explain anything to Nigerians
jaxxy: There is no need to attack security forces u are only escalating issues. ESN should do the right thing and respect their governors and work with them on security matters.
Threatening governors and government is not addressing herdsmen or bandits. It’s another fight completely u are doing and loosing focus.
U can disagree bt not attack them. That’s a crime.
Going hard and killing that ESN commander was a blunder, if Igbos decide to get violent they will damn the consequences and do it with added intelligence and bravery and more brutality. They don't fear Fulanis and Ahmadu Bello knew this when he granted that famous interview which I can post the link if you have not watched it, they fought a civil war for 3 years against Nigeria when the various tribes were in one Accord, now that Nigeria is divided along ethnic lines who will fight Igbos for Nigeria out of patriotism. Everyone is under attack by the same Fulani militia
When the said they would revenge I knew that our security agencies are in trouble in the South East and South South, Niger Delta militants will be child's play if Igbos start their own madness. We have warned every security agent from the South serving in the East or SS to lie low for now, allow Fulanis to face the problem they started with the Igbos, don't sacrifice your life for them
Live from the theatre, it's a tragedy what our troops are going. And the Army even lied they were killed in an ambush by Boko Haram if not that this video was released, now they will punish that soldier for recording and posting
blackpanda: so why isnt the east eldorado as u paint it. Instead what u have are rapist, ritualists, yahoo yahoo, blood money, kidnappers etc...Chi my foot!
Stop crying bro The Igbos are not the source of your frustrations in Nigeria
The reality is that many Nigerians see this as a crisis between Igbos and Fulanis. They don't want their relations in the security agencies to be involved or get killed in the process.
Meanwhile, I have not seen any Igbo talking bad about Ikonso,he is rather seen as a hero who shed his blood defending his land.
I have not also seen any Yoruba praising Inspector Ramon Akintola who died engaging Ikonso as a hero, rather they are angry that Fulanis have sacrificed another Yoruba officer in their senseless jihad
blackpanda: This was how boko haram started.. The people were supporting them initially till bh started using their own kids as suicide bombers to blow up mosques. I pity my igbo brothers. You may have a sense of righteous violence now, but very soon u will be the one begging fg for help and military intervention. Let's hope it's not too late by then.
Nobody can be bigger than a nation.
Don't compare the mentality of the Igbo who are mainly Christians with Islamic political ideology of Northern clerics which has a band of illiterate Almajiri to fight for Allah, Igbos don't fight for Allah, they have their Chi which abhors suicide as offenders are buried without honour in the evil forests
The reality is that many Nigerians see this as a crisis between Igbos and Fulanis. They don't want their relations in the security agencies to be involved or get killed in the process. They would prefer only Fulani officers and their Hisbah to be engaged in any confrontation, no Yoruba, Tiv, Nupe, Ijaw, Gbagyi etc officer should lose his or her in the South East in this war of attrition between Igbos and Fulanis
