Hi Nairalanders, from my little knowledge of the Nigerian Tax Law ( Company Income Tax Act 2004 CITA LFN. 2004- as amended) the following issues are pertinent with regards for a company to pay tax in Nigeria
1. The income must have been earned in and from Nigeria. But a caveat pls. This means they must be physically present in Nigeria to have earned it. Eg British Airways pays tax on income derived from Flight originating From Nigerian Airport going outside and not income from those conveyed into Naija.
2. Such a company must/should have a subsidiary in Nigeria and a parent company outside
3. Must be incorporated in Nigeria
4. Must have filled tax returns to FIRS within 18 months after commencement of operations or 6months after year end, whichever is shorter.
As it stands in mine own opinion I don't see this as feasible yet cos:

a. no physical presence in Nigeria
b. no existing law to compel them to submit their returns to FIRS. to determine the income earned FROM Nigeria originating advert.
c. they already pay tax in their home country and this would tantamount to double taxation. Except a relief be brought in place.
d.none of their Principal agent is resident in Nigeria.

To sum up, globalization calls for a review in tax laws and operating systems in view of the modern trend in e- commerce.

The above submission is opened to constructive criticisms from tax professionals in the house for us to learn better.

@Ponzi, 8 of us were slated for my batch and those whose contacts I have havent heard anything as well.I doubt if the guy said to have been called for medicals was for HR oooh. Cos if the final leg of the interview that precedes medicals had been held, at least someone would have told the house and moreso, u know they said the Mgt Panel interview would be like a month interval ab initio. @Ernike..the position applied for here is HR PROFESSIONALS. Came out around Dec 2011, professional test is field based. Total currently has openings for thosr from Akwa ibom and Rivers as part of their local content initiatives. Dis is aside their normal recruitment process we re currently undergoin. @HR professionals. Did u get any mail from their site deleting ur application? Was told dat its an auto msg cos afterall, we had been contacted and shortlisted. How did ur interview go with the two man panel. I think thosr guys were good and made de atmosphere friendly while extracting meticulously every details from us as contained in our cvs. As per the cube box game, how many of u guys went beyond the one requiring the 6cubes diagram? I think dat was de 4th on dat pad. Really dont know which part of the process is most critical though but as it is, the Miracle is in thehands of the Lord God to favour us IJN

IT is true please. I was psrked a couple of 100 metres away when it occured. The whole place was in disarray...I rushed to my car to drive away,wantet to take some shots but mennnnn...my liver no fit as everyone was struggling to drive away in de midst of the commotion. Some guys got their windscreen shatered.I overheard one of the security personnel saying the bomb was thrown into the church. May God continue to protect us in Jos ooo
