Guddy: Please house I want to root my galaxy S2 and upgrade to Android 4.1. I don't
want to take the risk of doing it
myself. A phone Engineer said he
will do it for 3k but am scared if
he will not brick the phone cos I doubt his competence. I reside in Ijebu ode (i'm new here)
and I want a competent hand to
do it here. Any recommendation
or suggestions? 08066264178 whatsapp. Thanks
if you can search the web, you should be able to find DIY tutorials.

LRNZH: Note 2 bootloop issues:
I've had my note 2 for a while (JB 4.1.2). I rooted it via odin successfully. I then re-partitioned my external SD card so I can use some part of it as an emulator for additional phone internal memory since note 2 doesn't use the external SD card memory for apps.
I created fat32, ext4 and swap memory partitions.
However, the phone could only access the fat32 memory partition.
So I used swapper2 and swapper apps (off Google playstore) to try and manually assign the SD card swap partition on the phone.
Now the phone bootloops endlessly.
I have reinstalled stock room (alongside PIT file) via odin successfully but it won't fix the bootloops.
The error message I get when I boot to recovery mode is
Failure to mount efs
(scary).

Any ideas on how to fix this?
can't really say, but maybe boot to recovery, wipe & reload the rom

Bludeville: ^^ it has refused to come on entirely, when I plug it to charge, the laptop doesn't recognize it, it's dead. the care centre said something like the panel or motherboard needs to be replaced but I was wondering if there was a way to fix something like that and not replace it.
I believe that was the same problem with the poster above you. get the contact of the tech that fixed his.

omotola1: Mr? The bolded made you sound very ridiculous!
How about checking the below threads... https://www.nairaland.com/1439767/tecno-phantom-a2-vs-nokia

https://www.nairaland.com/106523/jesus-phone-l-k#1871198

I brought out these two out of the hundreds of junk threads available in your section.
If all of you (the mods) do not see these as junk, then something is wrong with your judgement, hence you deserve to be changed!
Sir, with all due respect you make me laugh. in your attempt to make me seem ridiculous, you just exposed your ignorance. those two threads you posted are far from being junk & the second thread you posted dates back to 2008 !!
do you expect me to go dig out threads as far back as then? wake up!
PhonesRe: This Section Needs A Change Of Moderators by dragnet(mod): 11:17am On Sep 17, 2013
the simple truth is most of the users are just immature & unrealistic about your claims.
how many of you have reported a "junk" thread or a foul post by another user & that report wasn't attended too??

in as much as I would welcome positive criticisms, I won't condone any name calling & irrational posts.
the bbm android craze just started yesterday & is that the reason why this thread was opened? and it's not in anyway being overlooked but sometimes corrective measures have to be taken gradually.
PhonesRe: This Section Needs A Change Of Moderators by dragnet(mod): 6:41am On Sep 17, 2013
You guys just keep shouting "junk threads" I think it's best you give a definition of your "junk threads" & post the links to such threads instead of just labelling a thread "junk" because you don't like the content or it's author.
PhonesRe: This Section Needs A Change Of Moderators by dragnet(mod): 3:43am On Sep 17, 2013
omotola1: Hello, I have sent a mail to the site owner and administrator regarding this matter.
The moderators of this section are no longer effective and efficient
considering the number junk threads that springs up on a daily basis without any prompt swift action taken by any of the moderators to curtail such gross misconduct!
The only thing they are good at doing is hiding cheats (though that's part of their job description) and it's understandable.
I may not be that popular, but I'm a regular silent follower and I've been observing so many irregularities here.
Thanks.
junk threads ? at least you've also contributed your quota to those because I remember taking action on one of your "junk" threads & if I may ask, how many times have you deemed it fit to use the "report to moderator" button? those who use it can attest to the fact that prompt action is usually taken to treat whatever the situation requires. here I am awake at this time of the day making rounds checking for irregularities & taking action on reported threads or do you think I don't enjoy sleeping too ?
if you see such junk threads & you can't make your own little contribution by using the "report to moderator" link then you're also guilty & maybe I should also open a thread that says "This Section Needs a Change of users" !
