Dqueenzy:That young woman is one of the best singers in this country. A bundle of talent and beauty. |
The girl to the right is dead gorgeous. |
If the rivers governorship rerun is free from federal interference, the PDP shall comfortably reclaim victory. Ask the average rivers man. They'd rather vote another ikwere man than put APC in government. I know this because i practically live there. P.S. this is just an honest opinion, i don't care who wins as long as it's for the greater good. |
I've not seen empire, but i have seen power and i think the show is incredible. It's suspense- filled, it's exciting, and it's intriguing. I am yet to see anyone dislike it after seeing it, but I've heard a few persons say empire isn't all that (one of the reasons i haven't seen it). Power is catching up fast among lovers of tv, and i believe it's only going to get huger. |
Jesusloveyou:a 'corrupt hero' that had the resources to rig the election and win at all cost, but didn't. Do not forget that. GEJ could have chosen to be a 'mugabe', but didn't. I do not know where you're from, but in my part of the world, people like him are appreciated. His rule may not have been everything we wanted, but he showed he's a good man by putting Nigeria first during the elections. If you disagree with that, then, you're just dishonest. |
This show is hands-down, the best I've seen in a while. Schemers everywhere. Who would have thought ghost was the one clipping all those street lords...even lobos? He sure is in trouble, but he'll work his way out of it. He always does. Smart motherfucca. |
If its not from K.O.K, it ain't blood money. |
Have you ever sat and wondered about Nigerian music groups and the ultimate undecided fates that are tied to them? You find that there are always questions of why, how come and what if. Largely, it’s become pretty difficult to relate the concept of success with music groups. Nigerian music groups, I mean. Since the perceived blossoming effect of our music industry, many groups have emerged but experienced painful failure at withstanding the test and turf of time. This dates far back as the days of The Remedies and Plantashun Boiz. When there’s an assemblage of bubbling talents, there’s always an innate feeling to form a synergy born out of sheer interest and people compatibility. When this interest wanes, collective focus is lost, the synergy weakens then eventually dies and before you know it, a split is inevitable. Y’all may be beautiful singers and well-honed in the vocal artistry but does each one’s individual vision for a musical career culminate into an ultimate objective? These days, people do music to make money. More just want to be popular and at whatever costs while a few some only want to be heard for their gifts to be appreciated. Thus, if under any of these circumstances one member excels unusually more than the others (aka stealing the shine), then there shall be problem. It’s why Plantashun Boiz just had to call it quit. Of course, the news brought tears to our eyes but it didn’t change the fact that 2face had become every fan’s favourite since he rose to national prominence. I’m sure if we ask whether he wanted out of his tripartite clique, we’d get a definite NO! Nonetheless, we all can attest that it paid off and very immensely too. Same thing goes for Kcee – another utterly successful member of a disbanded group, KC Presh, who has excelled impeccably both musically and otherwise. For groups like Trybesmen and Remedies, monopoly of power had more than little to do with their split. It became all too obvious that they had started to fall apart. The crew members had graduated from the usual lowkey style of nursing hate to ‘beefing’ each other in open confidence. Hence their failure in trying to work out. How about Styl-Plus? We wanted them to remain together so badly that I’m guessing it tore them apart even more. Since their break-up, nothing has been heard of them, not even Tunde who has tried to put out a couple solo singles. It doesn’t seem to be working out. Star Music had even tried to help out with it’s Star Quest series where we had Pulse and Diamondz emerge winners from 2 editions. The rest, like we would often say is history! What about the femme cliques? I couldn’t possibly forget them. There was Kush, Emete and Iban. Although Iban was quite very unpopular (I think they had only one breaking), Kush turned out to be the winner with badass singeresses like Lara George, TY Bello and Emem. Emete on the other hand might not be known to a lot but that’s where Ms Ashionye smashed into her beau, Carl Raccah and later ran solo from. Theirs was a case of mixing business with pleasure and we all know how dastardly the resulting effect can be. It’s under these varying contexts, the likes of Maintain, Black Reverendz, JJC & 419 Squad, Zule Zoo and Mamuzee all came and swooshed by so fast leaving us with a record of hits that have become today’s throwback. …to be continued! birdman:God bless you for this. |
Ymodulus:smh. Humans and negativity. The post is celebrating a people, and you're here, trying to dig out dirt on them--- to prove what point, exactly? Do u even get the title of the post? |
When their feud with p square began a few days ago, someone said, 'this is the beginning of the end of soundcity'. Lol in Chinese. It is unprofessional to publicly fight with an entertainment act; certainly not one of p square's caliber. It is bad for the image of the company. I just can't understand how soundcity didn't know this. Poor, poor mgt. Whoever sent those tweets and statements is lucky I'm not tajudeen, otherwise, its outright sack. |
I agree that a lot of Nigerian singers still lip-sync, but its not all of them. More established artists like wizkid, tuface, yemi alade, p square, lagbaja, etc have moved their live performances up a notch, by bringing their bands along to stage. You only need to follow their instagram pages to see for yourself. And in the case of the glo lafta fest, i wouldn't really call them out because that show isn't exactly a concert. But i still, could have sworn i saw wizkid perform with his band/ dj. Oh, and foreign artists do lip-syncing too. It just depends on the show. Not every performance requires a band/instrumentalists. |
MISSNORA:you do have a point, but in this case, it is null. P square have been in music since way before soundcity birthed. P square became global after 'do me'. Soundcity was still an idea at that time. Mtv gave p square most of the hype they have today. So, while soundcity has definitely helped their popularity over the years, they didn't make them famous. |
I've been chased by too many dogs (different breeds), so i don't know where to start. However, I'll tell a funny story about a man (a plumber) who had an encounter to remember back in the day. We lived in a compound of two bungalows, i and my family in one, and a neighbor and his family in the other. We (my family) had a dog named 'Kimbo', a dog that was hated and feared by all in the neighborhood because he was mean. There was this one time our neighbor had issues with his water tank, so he called a plumber to come to the house, and help fix it (our neighbor was at work). The man (plumber) came, but rather than wait outside and confirm that kimbo was on a leash, he just came right in to do his work. Luckily for him, kimbo was asleep (or not) when he stepped in, so he got right to work on the bad tank. I was inside, seeing a movie, when i heard the dog barking. I stepped out to see what was up, and i saw the funniest scene ever. Kimbo had broken his chain, and The 'brave' plumber was inside the tank, struggling to cover it with it's lid--- while shouting, 'jimbo', 'jimbo', jimbo'. I quickly walked to the scene, and took kimbo back into his house. The man later came out of the tank, and was dripping with sweat. It was a funny experience for me, and i and my siblings still laugh about it every time we remember it. Kimbo got old, and died. |

A Toyota Camry with plate number- CQ566MUS belonging to Mr Omon Sunday (He's family) was stolen today, outside Winners' chapel, along ibusa road, Asaba where it was parked. It's a 2000/2001 model (tiny light, as it's popularly called). The car is lemon- grey in color, and has winners' chapel stickers on the rear windshield. It also has a small bumper on the trunk. There are really important materials inside, including two mobile phones, a wallet (with atms inside), and important work documents /tools. We've already contacted the cops, but i Just thought I'd put it out here, as well. Please, anyone with useful information that could lead to the recovery of the vehicle should Please, contact these mobile numbers- 08117701098, 08066640264. Thanks |

P square are always miles ahead! |
maxwell530:it's amazing really. Arsenal fans always boast of their supposed 'maturity', but cannot accept it when one of theirs crosses over to another team in the EPL. I remember how much they booed Ashley, then The 'flying dutch man', and now, it's Fabregas. This is in sharp contrast to Chelsea fans who have shown nothing but utmost respect and appreciation for their own when they leave. Chelsea may not want the move to happen initially, but if it eventually happens, they move on. I remember Frank, who deceived us into thinking he was leaving for the MLS, only to secure a loan move back to our title rivals, man city. Chelsea fans never disrespected him, even after he scored against us at the etihad. When he returned to the bridge, he received a hero's welcome. We also witnessed the same with regards to Petr. For every crucial save he made on Sunday, as much as the blue fans at wembley wished he hadn't, they applauded him. This makes you wonder where the much talked about spirit of sportsmanship and 'maturity' of the Gunners actually is... |
Some of those songs are too 'hip hop' for Gospel, imo. I understand that you can express and spread the word via all genres of music, but i like my Gospel songs slow. Puts me in the mood more than Gospel hip hop. Sinach over t-bone, any day! |
We are not America's puppet. We are a sovereign nation. We make our own laws and policies. America and Europe cannot influence us in any way we do not want to. We have chosen to be against homosexuality and we shall stand by that decision, no matter the pressure from the west. They should leave Nigeria alone! God knows our leaders cannot contemplate the thought of legalizing it. This country would be doomed. We say no to same sex marriage and courtship! God forbid! |
tunshe:sometimes, you just gotta ignore the negatives, and appreciate plain honesty. |
This Only goes to prove how dearly Akon holds Africa to his heart. He's supporting the continent in every way you can imagine. music, energy...and more. He even gree sing with Davido P.A... |
Love is a beautiful thing, no doubt, and nothing beats being in a relationship with someone your heart truly belongs with. But more often than not, you notice that love isn’t always enough to keep a relationship going. Love can bring two people together in a relationship, but if they’re not mature enough and willing to put in an effort towards the continued success of that relationship, it most likely won’t stand the test of time. In the last edition of our ‘Elcrema Sunday special’, if you’d recall, while addressing the topic of the day, which was, ‘is the man supposed to love more for the relationship to last longer?’ (read that HERE, if you missed it), I made reference to ‘maturity’ as the most important factor in the life of any relationship. However, due to time restraints, I could not elaborate enough. So, today, I have decided to bring you a more comprehensive post on the subject of preserving a relationship. I have put together 6 vital points to aid you on this purpose. Please, read on and learn. 1. BE HONEST AND OPEN ALWAYS One of the major pillars of a strong and enduring relationship is honesty— your ability to be truthful about everything, and anything to your partner. But sadly, this is a virtue a lot of people lack. You cannot claim to love someone and keep secrets from them; that would only contradict your claim. There’s absolutely no reason to lie; it is inexcusable. Even if you’ve done something so grave, telling your partner wouldn’t make them breakup with you, if they do, then they never loved you in the first place, but if you keep it from them and they find out from a different source, that is when there’ll be a problem because they’ll feel betrayed and invaluable. A lot of relationships have gone down the drain due to something as avoidable as this. Always be honest and open to your partner about everything; from what you do for a living, to how much you earn, and other necessary information you feel they should know about. It’d show you truly value and consider them a part of your life. 2. KEEP COMMUNICATION OPEN Similar to the first point, this is also very important in sustaining a relationship. When communication isn’t sufficient in a relationship both parties become automatically distant from each other, and the relationship suffers. And when the reverse is the case, the relationship thrives even more. When something bothers you, or your partner does something you do not like, call them, sit them down, and talk it out; keeping it bottled up inside won’t help neither of you nor the relationship. Be very vocal to each other about every issue because that is the only way your feelings can be known. 3. BE WILLING TO FORGIVE AND FORGET Being in a relationship means being ready to make sacrifices and compromises… lots of them. You must know that your partner isn’t a superhuman or someone so perfect; they’re not above mistakes, uh uh. They’ll piss you off on more than 50 occasions, get on your nerves, and do things that will make you question their feelings for you, but you have to understand that they’re just humans like you. They’re not perfect; when they make mistakes and apologize (show remorse), forgive them, and move on from it. It is important that you forget it, and don’t keep such things in your heart, because the more you think about it, the more hurt you’ll become and your relationship will suffer. 4. LET PRIDE BE FAR FROM YOU A popular saying goes, ‘pride comes before a fall’. Pride has made a lot of people lose things that was precious to them. Pride can ruin everything good, if you give it a chance. Most times in a relationship, you notice that one of the parties involved tends to feel superior to the other. They refuse to take advice from their partner or even apologize when they go wrong (maybe because of their gender or financial status). This isn’t right; the moment you enter a relationship with someone, they become your equal, so they have equal rights as you in the relationship. Do not be shy to take advise from them, it doesn’t mean you’re less of a person, it just means that they care about you enough to offer it. This piece of advice goes to both parties; male and female. I’ve seen situations where the female in the relationship earns more income than the man, so she looks down on him and disrespects him. It shouldn’t be like that. Having more money than your man doesn’t make him any less a man, and shouldn’t affect your feelings for him. If anything, you’re expected to support and encourage him to be better. Do not look down on him; rather, treat him as you would if he were richer. 5. KEEP THE ‘EXES’ WHERE THEY BELONG— IN THE PAST If you’re done with Mr/Miss A, keep it that way. Don’t go dragging past lovers into your present life and relationship, it can destroy your new relationship (Exes always have a way of doing that), and your new partner definitely wouldn’t like that. I’m not saying It’s bad to be in good terms with your ex-lover(s), but never let them come too close. You have no business hanging out or visiting them. They shouldn’t even be a part of your social life in my opinion, because while your intentions maybe genuine, they may be harbouring destructive thoughts toward you. They may be there just to ruin the good thing you have going in your life. Exes are never happy when you are… don’t forget that. 6. NEVER COMPARE YOUR PARTNER TO SOMEONE ELSE Comparing your partner to someone else should never happen. No one is perfect, and everyone is unique in their own way. They may not be great in every area, but they sure are great in some way — remember that. Don’t compare your partner to your Ex or friend. That would only make him/her feel inadequate and depressed. And when that happens, they may begin to avoid you. You don’t want that to happen, trust me. I know that sometimes, people make such references harmlessly, but then, that is why you must guard your utterances, and watch what you say always. Nobody likes to be compared to someone else… especially in a negative way. Don’t be the reason your relationship ends abruptly. So, there you have it, guys. I believe you’ve learned something valuable from this post? Thank you for your time, and bye. HungerBAD:you need some chill tho. Since when does any of your excuses matter? Age ain't nothing, neither is her 'single mom' status. People will always peddle rumors, but until proven she actually dated Atiku, it ain't nothing. There are millions of young men who would be willing to marry Genny, if afforded the opportunity (you inclusive). The obstacle for many, is her perceived wealth and financial strength. So, she's spot on. Quit frontin'. |
helpee:well said! |
