gameboi: I understand what you're saying. But, trust me! You don't want to know when I started playing full praise and worship songs on keyboard. I could remember when I played at QIC, Funsho williams avenue, the Pastor there was like 'who's your Father?' 'I need to put you on youtube' and all those ish. And now I realised that music is just so wide that you can't even practise all what you learn. There was a time when one of my students showed me a piano skill I had learnt and forgotten. My God! Na so teacher turn to student oh. I had to beg him to teach me all over again.
yeah bro... Just pray when making some decisions cos you'll seem wrong to some people at times.. Goodluck

gameboi: I'm going on 17. What do you mean by an interval of five? do you mean as with a keyboard?
don't worry you wrote the age already... I already gave you an epistle of a reply but it wiped off without posting so I'm just gonna shorten this one.. Well... What I was saying was music is endless... Skill in piano takes years... But this same skill is what attracts suitors as you desire... But then again, connections matter... I know of an extreeeemely skilled pianist... But i dont even think he has students neither connections... And when I mean skilled i mean skilled... He has all the hymns you can think of all in his head.. Thousands of jazz phrases... He is well versed with chords... But bro, connections matter... But at this stage of learning,if you decide to start connecting when you have not had the arsenal of chords and scales in your head, it's just gonna spoil things for you.. I've met with sammi okposo's drummer one time this year... He asked for my number... I knew he wasn't gonna call but I have his number... I'm not in the level i wanna be... If i call him nw, he's gonna be like "oooohhh hwfr come to x y z and lets jam na".. And then i go when i know im not good enough?.. This person im talking about travels out with sammi okposo anywhere he goes... But i just dont wanna begin the connecting yet... I wanna keep practicing until i get what i want... I'm not saying you should be perfect but there's a level you get to that is just ok

Music/Radio › Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Dramadiddy(op): 2:16pm On Aug 12, 2014
gameboi: I understand you. Maybe it's 'cos You're not exposed to big ocassions where there are probably better instrumentalist waiting in line to play. In such cases, you won't even ask for money but hope that you get a chance to exhibit your skills to the large audience and probably hook-up with richer suitors. I've experienced such before and I can tell you that it's better.
bro you're right and he's also right... But before I say something, what do you exactly mean by "suitors"

Giannakopoulos: defends his actions,
that can be hard it takes exposure for people to change sha... I was in a church like yours then i didnt even win at convincing him the sound was so crappy..

Giannakopoulos: We are friends but nothing works
what does he say when you request for touches on your sound?
Music/Radio › Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Dramadiddy(op): 1:49pm On Aug 11, 2014
Giannakopoulos: House, how can one cope with a church sound manager(an elderly person),who knows nothing about sound and can't play any instrument but goes on to set the mixer up & down, and would NEVER accept instructions from the instrumentalists no matter what you say,is it possible to cope as a good player, knowing too well that without a good sound set-up,you may be reduced to just an average player because some skills you do (runs, straddle, even some chords etc) may not be heard by the audience.
lol the best thing to do is to get him to be friends with you.. That way, he would be very comfortable doing what you want...

gameboi: what do you mean by 'Eiya'? The churches I play for usually offer to pay me and I'll agree but After church service I'll disappear. There are Implications in Requesting for money to serve God. And besides the only ocassions where I collect money are during Wedding Receptions.
cool for you bro
Music/Radio › Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Dramadiddy(op): 10:59am On Aug 11, 2014

gameboi: So, you're leaving your church because this new one offers a better pay? As in, You play for money? Hmm! I comment my reserve.
you don't pay me i leave
Music/Radio › Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Dramadiddy(op): 5:05pm On Aug 10, 2014
So I'm leaving my present church now to another place that's somehow close to my house and I think it would be a good idea to tell them that I stay far away... If they know you stay around, they'll want you to come for all the services... By the way, they hold vigils every Friday.. So I need your help guys.. And the pay is nice coupled with the closeness of the church to my house
