Governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo State has insisted that he would not apologise to estranged members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state who defected to the PDP. The governor made this known at the presentation of staff of office to Alhaji Jackson Etokhana as the Oghieavhianwu of Avhianwu. He stated that he “will never share the state’s resources, meant for developing the state to them.” “So, those who defect because I do not put money in their pockets, let them continue to defect; no apology. Everybody will be remembered when they write the history of politics in Afemai land,” he added. Speaking further, Oshiomhole called on the need for traditional rulers to educate their subjects on ways to distinguish and support only politicians who stood for the interest of the people, rather than personal interest. His words, “We must use every opportunity to educate our people. This afternoon, your Royal Highnesses, I am not asking you to go and carry party cards. I only ask you and your chiefs to educate our people to distinguish politicians, who will stand only when it is good for their family, not when it is good for the larger community. “I want it to be said that when I left office, our people started distinguishing thieves from real politicians. Our people must learn to begin to interrogate all manners of political miscreants, who come wanting to cash in on the poverty of our people. I always say that to be poor is not to be crazy. So, we must be clear. “Those who called for Afemai Agenda believing that when an Afemai man becomes the governor, he will carry state money and share to them. And once they do not get it, they abandon Afemai Agenda and now they have turned only to the agenda of their stomach infrastructure. “You will always be governed by politicians, whether you like it or not, but you must carefully select your politicians on the basis of those who understand that state power is not for the private comfort of those around the state operators.” Oshiomhole assured traditional rulers in the state that his administration would “never interfere with traditional matters.” Source: http://dailypost.ng/2014/08/26/owe-apology-oshiomhole-tells-defected-apc-members/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |
Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko has disclosed that two serving Governors from the North and one from the South will soon decamp from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking yesterday in Kaduna with newsmen at the venue of the APC North West caucus meeting to strategize ahead of its zonal rally which is expected to hold in Sokoto State early next month, Governor Wamako added that the party would pull surprises in 2015 general elections. He said,”We met here to first and foremost put a functional zonal office and other offices in place before holding the zonal rallies to kick start our party’s victory stride by 2015. “As I am talking to you now, three PDP governors have indicated their interest to join the APC between now and the end of September; two of the governors are from the north while the third one is from the south”. When asked to comment on allegations that he has an anointed candidate to take over from him in his state, he said, “only God make a leader, I cannot tell you who will succeed me in Sokoto State”. And the monies will, one way or the other, be "Transformed" for 2015 elections...... afterall it's part of the terms of reference given to Mr Emefiele. This is just one of the portals of Nigerians to finance 2015 campaigns and elections through their noses and asses. An average of 1.5 million cash withdrawals are done from secondary ATMs which amounts to about 100 million Naira daily as a way of bribes to banks' revenues which in turn will pay taxes to National coffers and guess what? It's Christmas for TAN campaigns fronts. Fresh air. GEJ till 2019. Exploiting the weak masses psychologically and financially since 2010. |

plainol: what has d Yorubas got to do with or writeup?Maybe u make sometime and read tonychristopher's write upon the subject matter before u start criticism. Thanks. |
A very brilliant, though bitter write up. From the Chap's profile and topics, although said not to be tribalistic and love all tribes (with prejudice), there seem to be a palpable wave of Sentiment and lack of Objectivity (associated with Sentiments). Brilliant and apt though. My Honest question is: with the seeming near perfection of our industrious Igbo Compatriots, do you think they have flaws? If yes can u please illuminate? If No, then we have this perfect tribe in Nigeria that will change the world to a perfect place. Cheers. |
As terrifying as it is, based on the reports and vibes from credible sources, the Ebola victims in Lagos have been transferred to Primus Hospital in Abuja for treatment and quarantine. The restrained Doctors' alarm to the Indian authority becomes the only portal of dissemination of the danger. It would be prudent for the government to inform the populace for cautionary sake. Meanwhile, as mean and undiplomatic as it seems, those health personal kept under siege should remain there and Govt should safeguard them with necessary outfit and moral support. |

The Gambia government through its relevant ministries has extended a ban on air passengers bound for Banjul from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the latest West African nation to be hit by the deadly Ebola virus. It came after reports emerged Monday that the government through the Ministry of Transport, Works and Construction has barred some airline companies in Banjul from picking passengers from Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, countries hardest hit by the epidemic. This measure followed an emergency meeting convened by the Ministries of Health and Social Welfare, and the Transport, Works and Construction where they cautioned airline companies to adjust to certain international health or else face suspension of services. The permanent secretary at the Transport Ministry, Abdoulie O. Camara, told the Daily Observer Monday that airlines such as Gambia Bird and Royal Air Maroc have been written to this effect to immediately stop bringing passengers from the affected zones to The Gambia. H noted that the Ministry is working closely with the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to closely monitor the situation, adding that at the moment, all the airlines that have offices in the country are cooperating.
