Schools abroad respect the ranking whether you do or not. OAU was number one a while back and they took it as good news too so i dunno what youre saying. Its not inconsequential as you claim. And the scholarship scheme was for both private and public peeps. Your public university friends with first class results probably know about it. Renewable energy is still a dream for most Nigerian universities sir. Just give these guys the credit they deserve. The fact remains that they have improved much more than other universities in the country especially when you look at where they were five years ago and where they are now.

I'm not in the science field, but I do know all our labs are well equipped. There's not a snowball's chance in hell that you come to Unilorin and meet a deficit of technology or basic infrastructure either in the science laboratories or elsewhere.

In every science block in my school, there's a large HD plasma TV that shows lots of cools stuffs as well as showcase the student entrepreneurs we've got and their wares.

Oh, Nobel Laureates come to give speeches in your school? Cool. Tell me, is there anything a Nobel laureate knows that he hasn't already published and made available to both his peers in his field and rthe society at large? Bro, that was another white elephant project embarked on by those rapacious philistines that constitute the administrative. Personnel of your school. Your school gives you 10GB of data? How generous! Well, my own school gives me UNLIMITED data. And the download speed has been known to reach a dizzying 1.2 mb/second sometimes. The totality of my tuition fees for this current session isn't even up to 30K.

So if the first class graduates are so bad why do they do better than your public uni first class graduates in that particular exam. Do we start with inventions sir? Lost? Lmao is this a war or something? A school like Covenant for example has touch screen tvs in every single classroom including a very large screen(not projector o) in it's ultra modern lecture theatre. How many of your electrical labs have PCB printing machines? I went to one of your public universities and discovered that they had no oscilloscope in any of their electrical labs. There is a part time lecturer in covenant university that is a nobel laurete from Harvard. The school is the only one in Africa that has had more than 2 Nobel laureates coming to give public lectures. Can any of your public schools do this? Or the fact that here we actually recycle our own waste and generate our own electricity? Every student has 10GB worth of data every month for browsing. And believe me it's fast. If that is the case, then why is it that most of these first class products of private universities can't stand their 2:1 counterparts from public universities both academically and intellectually ? Examples abound. U may take a walk to the nearest NYSC orientation camp and carry out some research. I graduated with 2:2 in Elect/Elect and I work in the same organisation with a graduate of private university with a cgpa of 4.42 in the same E/E who couldn't differenciate btw the electrical symbol of an inductor and that of a resistor. This same guy could not differenciate btw Kwatt and KVA.

The guy could have just done cram and drop although it's still not a good excuse but a lot of people forget most of what they learnt in school because they read to pass and not to understand. But like I said it's not an excuse

Which yeye standard? The ones where your labs are Ill equipped? Or with the lack of basic facilities in the school? Do you think that a Harvard or MIT first class graduate will get a first class in your ill equipped public universities? Most of them will most likely fail in those places because the facilities aren't up to standard. So with that we can also say Unilorin is better than Harvard right?

My dear, I couldn't agree more. When I see many private school "first class" guys in my office who don't sound half as smart as I expect, I just know their school fees earned them the first class.

Eloquence and Intelligence are not the same thing. Just because someone doesn't 'sound' smart doesn't necessarily mean that the person is dumb. There are some eloquent people also who speak really well but aren't that smart.

Ebube Oti was the last covenant university best graduating student. Dude had 8As and one B in his WAEC. So you think his first class wasn't earned or what? A lot more of the graduates from that set had fantastic results in WAEC and JAMB. People should really stop hating on these graduates. They worked hard in a more conducive environment and they got the reward. Your public schools are in a sad state right now. Look at Unilag students protesting today because of the bad treatment they are getting. Covenant for example has better facilities than most public universities. Most of you public university graduates can't just accept that your schools are still living in their past glories

So if chelsea played on Friday they would have beaten PSG? Right now English clubs aren't good. Even with a weeks rest they stand no chance of beating the top seven in Europe . Neither can you say that all unilorin or unilag graduates are better than cu graduates. Iv also met unilag graduates that are dull and only have entertainment news in their head so what are you saying? The fact is creating a conducive environment for learning influences the quality of graduates in the long run. If Harvard had poor facilities would their graduates be as good? Ask yourself this, where was Cu in university rankings five years ago? And where are they now? If Covenant continues at this rate in the next ten years they will be undoubtedly the number one in the country, and that's if they arent already because it's quite arguable right now.

they are obviously from rich homes...that explains their traveling outside the country to pursue their education...don't get that confused with intelligence...students that graduates from these private schools are actually dull...there get spoon fed all their way through school...I know some of em....university education is not just academics...but it should expose the students to some struggles of life...and covenant sure isn't giving them that...

Whats your definition of being spoon fed? The fact that they have good facilities and proper amenities? So until they suffer they haven't gone to university. Is that what is used to rate world class universities? I have met very smart covenant graduates in my time. People should really stop hating.
