No public university charges more than 300k for PG programmes with the average being 150k. Even at that, some schools break down this amount into semester-by-semester payments with the average per semester being 50k.

CU and other private universities charge much higher. However, their pay is worth it in the final run because students graduate as and when due and the lecturers are very helpful. The only downside to private universities' PG education is the bias and misconception that the degrees were bought rather than worked for.

Trust me I'm doing my postgraduate programme in a public uni. Yes the fee is 150 but the other excuses they'll use to take your money plus the accommodation puts it on par with private universities in terms of fees.

Obama's step brother is a Green card holder and not eligible to vote in an American election. He didn't have up to 8% of the black votes and mentioning just couple black names out of over 40 million blacks in America is a wash. Obama made a lot mistakes. As much as I respect him a lot I have to admit it. Blacks have always rejected Republicans, that's not new. Trump did better than former Republican nominees. Most republicans don't like Obama, it's not limited to Trump. Truth is, Obama didn't do much for blacks. Blacks are suffering more now than when Obama took over. The inner cities are still a mess. By choosing Ben Carson who is a black man to be housing secretary, Trumps infrastructure focus will be on the inner cities and so he chose a black man who has experienced the inner city life to improve infrastructure in the inner cities where blacks live. I believe that despite what people say Trump has good intentions. If Ben Carson can succeed it will mean that Trump might even do better for blacks than Obama did.

I got my Concealed Weapon permit 14 Years ago. 6 years ago,I walked to the Gun shop and sold my Cache of Arms and promised never to touch a weapon ago.

Within this last 3 weeks,I have stocked my home with enough personal protection that can start a little war.

Like I said,I am from the deep South. I will not let Trumps racist supporters drive me out of my city. Last week,there was a report on CNN that since Trump was sworn in,the numbers of BLACK GUN owners have gone up 70%.

For the first time,I am genuinely scared as an African American because of the words coming out from the mouth of Donald Trump.

A President that preaches hate and disunity will never be my President.

And for those saying Americans voted Trump. No,Hillary won by almost 4 Million Votes,but the electoral college system cheated her.

Yesterday at a march for Trump supporters an elderly man was attacked by some never trumpers. The UC Berkeley riots a few weeks back had a lot of Trump supporters beaten up by angry liberals. A lot of Trump supporters are afraid of saying they support Trump out loud because of fear. Two days ago Juan Thompson was arrested by the FBI for being behind the anti semitic threats the liberals blamed on Trump supporters. Juan Thompson was a liberal and a Sanders and Hillary supporter. This cycle of hate is from both sides and right now the liberals are the ones attacking Trump supporters when they protest. This wiretapping thing has been done by Obama before, twice in fact. Its honestly not something that's beyond him. The question now is whether or not Obama knew about the wiretapping. I have huge respect for Obama and I hope this is wrong but so far its not looking like it. Let's not get it twisted, CNN and other news sites do lie, that's a fact. Before Trump came along people already lost trust in the American media. I have been following this administration very carefully and with an open mind. the truth is democrats are guilty of a lot of things they accuse Trump of, and this is why i dont like politics. People will point fingers for things they are guilty of.

2. Request for convocation booklets of these unis e.g UI, UNN, etc. Check their staff resumes.

I went to CU. In my department of electrical engineering, most of my lecturers were foreign trained. Some of them didn't speak English to each other. They'd speak Russian or German because of the years they spent there. So don't make it look like you're the only one who had lecturers who studied abroad.

As much as I appreciate this thread, the truth is haters will keep hating. I've been through both the public and private university systems, CU and Unilag. Let them keep insulting and hating us. Nah I find this hard to believe. CU graduates can't write or speak well? I spent five years in the school and I met good speakers in different departments. In my department we gave presentations virtually everyday and people spoke and wrote well. Maybe the people applying for your jobs are the ones that graduated with 3rd class after like 7 extra years.

Your second claim is untrue, at least during my time in CU. Finished there years ago. So you can imagine that I know what I'm talking about. I know lecturers that left for their PhD study.

The department I finished from currently has just 1 or 2 professors. They have ZERO equipment for research and it's same in other departments. So, how the hell are these "top scholars" publishing papers if they've got fvck all to set up experiments and get data? The honest fact is that most people publish lies in Nigeria.

Secondly, I hope you understand that webometrics' methodology is highly dependent on websites of universities (their web repositories). Knowing how things are in naija, you can be sure the results aren't going to be realistic.

Remember, the aim for me is to have a world standard institution in Nigeria that actually does research with good academic teaching. Not, nice buildings and grass and church services.

Stop trying to paint CU like it's a great uni. It's crap like the rest in Naija.

You talk of standards, this is really funny. I had a seminar in Abuja. This relates to the accounting department at CU. At the seminar, the VC made complaints as to how his school wasn't doing well in that field and in other respective fields. He then asked how we could help make his school be a better one for tomorrow. When we told him, he said the fees was going to be increased and till date the methods we mentioned to him hasn't been adopted. And such would amount to 200 dollars per accounting students. Till date, the students run the same useless program in accounting like they have a clue of what the real world is like.

About teachers. Simple exercise: check CU's departmental webpages and check the number of lecturers than have a PhD to start with. Check the number of professors each department has. Check their publication record. Check if they've published anything of recent. Check if they've ever been published in any journal with a good (not even high) Impact Factor. The same is true for public unis but I assure you that it's worse in private unis.

dude if CU's publication record was as bad as you claim, there's no way they would be number 2 in the webometric ranking for Nigeria. I've attended both public and private universities, and I can tell you that private schools are better. I've given you facts to justify my argument.

Your argument still holds no water as it has a major weakness: You didn't factor in the issue of quality.

Let us be honest, with the exception of CU (and this is arguable), ALL other private universities in Naija are of poorer quality (academically) than these long established government unis. They're grossly lacking in adequate research equipment necessary to carry out even the most basic research. They also have crap teachers with little or no reputation in their field.

The question of why Church Unis are expensive now becomes irrelevant.

Knowing fully well that these churches lack the necessary capital to build world class universities, the pressing questions are: Why should Churches build low quality unis with lots of money that could be used to raise existing government schools up to world class standard? Is the this practice even ethical? Because I'm sure that most of these private unis would not be accredited in a developed country.

In 2015 Babcock university graduates were the best at the Nigerian bar exam. I also believe that the medical school at BU is also the best in this country. You can go to the school and judge with your own eyes. So let us not pretend it's only CU. Also when you say they have crap teachers you have gotten it wrong. A lot of the lecturers at private universities were also well respected lecturers at public universities. The same lecturer who taught my mum at Unilag medical school in the 80s is also teaching my younger sister in Babcock university today. So they do not have bad lecturers as you say. Let me ask you this, how much do you think churches realize from tithes and offerings? I mean a lot of us go to church here. We know how much we drop as offering and tithe. That's for those of us that actually drop. A lot of churches need to even do businesses outside to support their projects. If church business was that profitable even the "smallest pastors" would be stinkingly rich. In private universities like BU and CU because of the problems with electricity in Nigeria they basically have to run diesel generators for 24 hours in all the hostels and academic buildings. Do you think its cheap? Let's not forget they have staff to pay salaries to, from professors to cleaners and they do this every month for every session. And also the cost of building and maintaining facilities? Even research? The truth is they need money for all these things and it doesnt come cheap. I dont know any good private university in the world that is cheap. You say these schools dont have facilities? Some private schools have better equipped labs than the public schools. I mean we know the state of the facilities in some of our public universities. Lets not kid ourselves. Nothing good comes cheap and if you visit any of these schools and inspect their facilities youll realize why they arent cheap.

Supergirl - 0.1/10 - How I got gullibly lured to watch this,still has me bewildered. I'm usually conscious in things like this,I mean I watch promos and read synopsis of Episodes. Why didn't I do that in this case to save myself the trouble,instead of wasting my time watching this crapfest .Gosh I'm so mad at myself. Supergirl your Juju of "Touch and follow" is strong,I must say.

The Flash - 9.5/10 - Like I mentioned earlier,it lost a perfect score due to Felicity being Felicity. But apart from the cringe,the episode was awesome,comic book greatness brought to the screen. I'm so happy being alive in this Golden age of CB tv/movies,its episodes like this that makes me fully appreciate that.

Arrow - 5/10 - I could nitpick this episode for a week straight and still won't run out of nitpicks,that's to show how the writers fell off big time,so many plot holes, case in point,the scene with Sara,Dig,and Ollie,when she was asked what she could recall. Now tell me,how the fvck was Sara about to point out/recall that Thea and Ray Palmer were the other 2 who got abducted When Sara herself was actually the very FIRST person to be abducted its illogical for her to know the others who followed.
But the writers didn't care and just wanted to get it over with. I knew merging the Arrow 100th episode and the crossover was a bad idea,clash of ideas are bound to happen leading to a half-baked product

Legends Of Tomorrow - 7/10 - The ending was anti-climatic. The episode was so predictable,I knew 95% of the time of what was gonna happen. Still fun though,but underwhelming.


In all,it was a great Crossover event,the CW really out-did themselves compared to the previous ones( even though they took the generic "Alien Invasion" route ),it was still enjoyable

Arrows episode was better than a 5. They had a limited budget, this is not a movie. You can't expect CGI and stuff all through. What they did with that episode was brilliant despite the llack of resources. Arrow has been the best CW show this season. I can't believe I'm saying it but the improvements are showing.

And you think that flash and legends of tomorrow have great ratings Legends of tomorrow in its second season is having worse ratings than Arrow that's in its 5th season. Google is also your friend. The flash has also seen it's ratings go down. The flash is having arrow season 4 numbers as ratings. And Arrow season 5 has been a massive improvement over former seasons. Nobody is canceling Arrow any time soon.
