TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by drchic(f): 5:35pm On Apr 22, 2019
Heritagee:
The expired CoS doesn't have anything to do with your dependants' application. The CoS must be used by the candidate before that date which you've used. Mine also expired in October and my family joined me this year.

About shared apartment, my tenancy agreement also showed a room in a 5-bed shared house.

NB: You can request for a maintenance letter from your employer though if they are willing to give you. This will further give you rest of mind but if they dont, your CoS with marked "Y" for maintenance is enough financial evidence
Thank you so much for responding. Just to be really clear, are you saying that your family applied for a tier 2 dependent visa with your COS which expired in October and you did not include pay slips or bank account balance? I'm sorry if I keep asking but you know in this type of thing no stone can be left unturned. Thanks so much.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by drchic(f): 10:55pm On Apr 19, 2019
Thank you @heritage for your response. My COS has expired in March that's why I need the funds.
The tenancy agreement I have currently states that I have one room only in a shared apartment. Was yours written this way?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by drchic(f): 10:49pm On Apr 19, 2019
Heritagee:
If your employer ticked "Y" under maintenance funds in your CoS, you don't need to keep maintenance funds in your account for 90 days.

All you need is proof of accommodation which is your tenancy agreement. I applied for my family while staying in a shared apartment. I used tenancy agreement for the shared accommodation for the application and it was approved. A friend who applied for her husband and four children was staying in a room provided by her employer when she made the application and there was no issue at all. All the ECO is looking for is a proof of accommodation

justwise:
Yes you have to write IELTS for spouse visa or evaluate your degree certificate through NARIC UK else your application is likely to be refused
Does my spouse need to write IELTS for a tier 2 dependent visa?
Thanks so much.

I came in 2 months ago on a tier 2 visa. I plan to apply for my family (husband and 2 kids) after the 90 days has elapsed so the maintenance in my account is ok. Concerning accommodation what is the required accommodation for a family this size pls? My son's are aged 11yrs and 8yrs. I thought a 2 bedroom flat would be ok but someone told me that because of their age I need a three bedroom. Thanks for responding.

Yes, a christian and a choir master for that matter. After sampling all the girls(choristers) in his church."HOUSE ON THE ROCK" now he deems it fit to settle down with one.

Very reckless statement to make.

Abi you get sister or fiancee wey dey HOTR choir wey im sample?

What you just said is that he slept with all the girls in a church choir. Does that not sound a silly and reckless thing to say?
Haba, why vex for the guy? Abi you too dey choir for HOTR?

Nairaland GeneralRe: Here's My 419 Experience, Whats Yours? by drchic(f): 1:55pm On Sep 09, 2007
I have heard so many peoples experience about the 'dollar' 419. It seems to be the most common trick
in Abuja. These people just work on your greed. The easiest way out is just to be very wary of any 'awoof'
money. I know a nurse who escaped being caught in the web, only to see the same woman in the hospital a few weeks later. I guess the woman knew something was up, cos she disappeared b4 the nurse could raise alarm.

Be careful, be prayerful.
CultureRe: Terrible State Of The English Language In Nigeria by drchic(f): 10:23am On Sep 04, 2007
@ThiefofHearts
I totally agree with you. It is absurd to think that just because some Americans speak English badly
it is ok for a Nigerian graduate to find it impossible to construct a simple sentence. We should face reality and stop making excuses for our inadequacies.

There is also absolutely nothing wrong with speaking pidgin in the right place at the right time or whenever it is appropriate. Speaking pidgin has nothing to do with good English. We seem to have misunderstood that its not about speaking pidgin.

I dont see him as a really good presenter and I see his dressing and crazy antics just distracts
one from that fact. I see it as just a way for him to cover up for his inadequacies, real or
imagined.

To each his own.
RomanceRe: Kissed By My Boyfriend's Best Friend by drchic(f): 8:15pm On Aug 29, 2007
This is too funny.

First of all, if your boyfriend kissed your bestfriend, would u want him to tell you?(Even if your bestfriend is male,he,he)

Secondly, remember guys will be guys. They WILL talk about this one day.

Tell him. Hope for the best, but expect the worst. Good luck.

Octupus:
Fufu King,
I think you may wish to continue this discussion on this thread. As for me I am outa here!! When I introduced this thread,I was honestly expecting to get some intelligent argument against female circumcision, but I am afraid I have been disappointed.Until I see somebody contribute something really logical and intelligent against female circumcision I am not likely to join in again.

As for Seun.In insulting me he has shown how pathetic he is.His emotional outburst(same also as Thiefofhearts)has shown his level of immaturity.
Dear Octopus,
Kindly forgive us for being so emotional, illogical and unintelligent in our argument.
You see, for some of us yours truly in particular, it is difficult to separate these issues. If
we cannot be as objective as you are because for we had a very close friend and roommate who cried daily because it was impossible for her to find sexual fulfillment with her husband to be and she worried about what the relationship would be like someday. TOO personal for you? Ok, what about as a young medical student, seeing her first circumcised perineum and wondering, what is wrong with this woman?

Is it not enough of an argument when it is said that there are NO advantages to FGM, meanwhile there even MIGHT be some advantage to male? Any argument contrary to yours is viewed as double standard or emotional or illogical even unintelligent.

Abeg eh, forgive us. You started this thread so please feel free to end it. We are sorry for our stupidity.

Goodbye and stay happy and logical.

You think sufferhead automatically makes you cooler. Me that I've been living in Yankee seven years now, I have small ajebota in me. No sweat.
Thank you o! Some people wish they can be called that, yet some are vexing because they have some level of comfort!

HealthRe: The Issue Of Female Circumcision: Your Opinion? by drchic(f): 11:15am On Aug 26, 2007
But the truth is that no campaign on any issue will ever get the legislative nod except it is based on "clear, precise and logical reasons"

And the FACTS that point out Female Genital Cutting as a HARMFUL cultural practice are not clear, precise and logical
enough for you?
HealthRe: The Issue Of Female Circumcision: Your Opinion? by drchic(f): 1:27pm On Aug 25, 2007
Honestly, I'm tired of octopus and her argument. Her only saving grace is that she is clear, precise and logical,
but still wrong!

If any female dares to argue she is branded as emotional, sentimental or sensational.

I'm tired. If i comment anymore I might come across as being insultive but by all means madam marry a man who insists that you and your daughters be circumcised for cultural reasons and then try persuasion te get him to drop the idea.

And yes i AM being emotional.

women circumsition is is somehow good. but it depends on how it is done. if what they normally cut is left too long, it makes them nympho's.
conversely, if cut and becomes too short, it renders them frigid.

my dear it is curable but please do cure it fast it a major cause of low sperm count and infertility

please go for HIV test after you must have been treated because if you can contact staph it means you can also be HIV positive
Pls where do you get your facts from?

I hope you are just misinformed, not one of those people that extort money from unsuspecting individuals
in the name of curing 'staph' and cancer and HIV.

Believe as you are standing right now YOU have staphylococcus, this is not me 'swearing' for you, because
it is a normal commensal of the skin ie it lives normally on the skin of everyone in small amounts.
HealthRe: The Issue Of Female Circumcision: Your Opinion? by drchic(f): 10:01am On Aug 23, 2007
Octopus,
I'm really trying to understand your argument, but sorry I don't get it.

Yes, male circumcision is cultural too, but saying there are health benefits is not just to justify doing it, because research has shown that there ARE true benefits. Check up on the word 'smegma' which is found in the uncircumcised phallus and has been implicated in the increased transmission of Herpes Simplex Type 2 virus which causes Cervical Cancer in women. Lets not even talk about HIV and other STI's.

Female Genital Cutting though cultural too, HAS NO ADVANTAGE WHATSOEVER. It does not just involve the removal of the clitoris, but comes in four types.

Type 1: Clitoridectomy ie removal of the clitoris

Type 2: Clitoridectomy, plus removal of the labia minora

Tpye 3: Above plus removal of the labia majora

Type 4: Infundibulation, which involves removal of the clitoris, labia minora and majora and also sewing
up of the external Instruments, leaving a small opening for urine and menstrual flow.

This actually happens. Not only do these women have problems achieving orgasm, they have painful mensturation,
painful intercourse and complicated labour.

It is cultural yes, but it is an evil culture and should be ranked somewhere with the killing of twins.
FGM must be banned outright. It is criminal.
