The only Nigerian striker I rate highly is Victor Osimhen. All the others including likes of Dennis and Onuachu are average strikers. I don't even want to mention Awoniyi and Sadiq because they only profited from the absence of Osimhen, Onuachu and Dennis
Onuachu average with a 35 goal season? Onuachu that has close to 200 career goals in Europe? The day Osimhen gives me a 35 goal season is the day I will finally go and climb Mount Everest naked grin

But if na other players the league matters grin
I rate Segunda and Championship over the Scottish League bar the Old Firm. Does that mean I am against Aribo getting invited?

Brazil have many options in defense ,maybe we should tell Thiago Silva and Daniel Alves to both respect themselves and retire grin

There is nothing like respect yourself in football Oga ,I feel this is ighalo last tournament for the eagles
Note that I compare Ighalo to the other strikers.

How many defenders in the world are better than Thiago Silva? If you like be 71, as long as you are delivering top class performances in a competitive level you should be in the team.

lol. We haven't given him a chance, how then can we know?. onauchu might have benched him in the club but nevertheless he might come here and do something that onauchu has never done. We should give him a chance.
Chance we didn’t give Onuachu? Evaluate it yourself.

If a guy who benched you at club barely made the standby, what chances do you have of making the actual list?

lol someone play about 3 matches for Nigeria at afcon and he was generally the poorest player in the field of play. .yet he keeps getting invited cause of his form in a second division?... Just wondrful
Maybe we watched different AFCONs or you just have an agenda.

Sadiq is second in both goals and assists in the Segunda. The closest overall performer in terms of all round goalscoring/creation is Dennis. Watch his Segunda goals, they are mostly not tap-ins or sitters. Many were shots from outside the box, some with cool finishing on his weaker left foot. He has been class this season and deserved to be rewarded.

Sadiq was our best player on the pitch against Tunisia by far. He may not give you the same physical intensity Awoniyi gives, but he has a presence and is so lethal in his positioning around the box that when he plays he seems to get so many chances.

he can't bench Sadiq... Sadiq is probably our most in form striker now irrespective of the league.
And Amoo is not a striker.
Ighalo is the only one that can be dropped for Dessers but then he is untouchable
This was why I said Ighalo should respect himself and retire… we have so many options in attack in limited time but we can’t test them because one old cargo is holding everybody hostage as an untouchable. Based on league standards Awoniyi should be in this team x10 over Ighalo but see what is happening. It is painful to say the least.

Sadiq hasn't been good in Nigeria colours ..we can't keep calling on him.

We both know Amoo won't play so why waste that spot when we can call on a good striker. Maybe if we had desser at the Nation's cup we won't have been eliminated. Nigga no go miss the chances this Sadiq was missing
How many games has Sadiq played for Nigeria? He has 1 goal in 1 start which is a good record.

Even if you invite Dessers the problem is will he play? He is a good player but I don’t think he can compete with guys like Onuachu and Awoniyi for remaining slots. After all, it was same Onuachu that benched him all the way to Feyenoord.

Anyone remember the U23 game against Libya in Asaba where Osimhen, Awoniyi, Chuks, Orji Okonkwo, Uzoho, Awaziem and Nwakali all started, Osimhen scored a hattrick and provided a backheel assist for David Okereke after a shot from Dennis rebounded after a save?

What would have been if that same team went to the U23 AFCON? We might have gone to the Olympics and done well.

This guy needs to play behind Oshimen! He is practically made for African football. Wow!
Oga all na talk. This is highlights for Swedish league, I can show you Maguire's highlights in the EPL that make him look like prime Van Dijk. Don't base your rating of a player based on highlights. Amoo is a good player, yes. He is not at the level of our regulars though. He needs time to develop, he is not the finished product that you want to rush into a team of professionals to "play behind Osimhen". He is here to learn like Anayo was and not to enter starting lineup.

Sedic or Amoo
You can't invite 10 strikers. Sadiq is better on current form, 7 goals and 2 assists with 3 penalties won in 6 games are stats you can't play with. Personally, I think Amoo is not ready yet, but I can understand the motive behind his invitation.

someone said chuks was having a poor game against Celta how come he ended with man of the match award?
I was the one that said it.

He had an abysmal first half. I don’t know what Emery told him at half time that transformed him into prime Messi in the second half. Las las it is not how you start but how you finish that matters.

Can Eguavoen deploy Nacho as the 9 as Rodgers did vs Arsenal? It will make the middle quite lethal in expression imo. grin
Why deploy Nacho there when Osimhen is better? Nacho is better playing behind a striker where he can spray through passes, shoot from the edge of the box and pick up loose balls. Any coach that can interpret how to utilize Nacho will score tons of goals. I think this will be the World Cup where we finally make something happen.

I was about to type about him then I saw your post. That boy is a different animal. Close control, fast, dribbles, can shoot and pass! The boy is gonna be a maniac.
He has good shooting but his finishing from a CF perspective is poor though. Also needs to bulk up a bit the way Olayinka did too.

Someone in sports section posted this as the leaked list

Goalkeepers: Joojo Wallocott, Richard Ofori, Abdul Manaf

Defenders: Leeroy Owusu, Harrison Afful, Dennis Corsah, Mohammed Salisu, Alexander Djiku, Daniel Amartey, Jonathan Mensah

Midfield: Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudu, Baba Idrissu, Kingsley Sarfo, Sulley Muntari, Elijah Owusu, Elvis Manu, Osman Bukari, Kamsldeen Sulemana, Geoffrey Schlupp

Strikers: Felix Afena-Gyan, Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyon, Callum Hudson Odoi
By the way, Kofi-Kyereh is Ghana’s best attacker at the moment (and was at AFCON), so it is impossible to believe he was just omitted for such a crucial game just like that.

Guardiola did not have space for Sancho, that did not mean he wanted him sold. Guardiola from my take, did not want to sell Iheanacho. Iheanacho pushed for the move.
Iheanacho did not push for the move. There was an opportunity and an ambitious club came with money, desire, and a project. Sometimes, neutrality is affirmation.

Don't be too quick to speak. Read to comprehend. Civilzation evolves. From Egypt to Mali to the Arabs to Greece to Rome... Everything takes time.
When you are offended it's within your right to demand an apology. It's a complex and cowardice to keep mute when offended. Your own reaction is what matters.
All these do not apply when you take offense when none is given. If you choose to interpret a statement in your own way and then take offense in your interpretation that is your business. What if France and England were mentioned specifically because they are both European nations and the player is based in Europe? African conversations will put Africans first, same with Europe.

Yes, he can and that’s probably his best position. If filmirho can do it, kelechi can also do it. How can someone with such exquisite finishing not be able to play as a 9? Isi odigi mma? Go and watch kelechi first season in Manchester and return back to me
Salah cannot lead a line, despite his strength, speed, and excellent finishing. Have you ever asked why?

Mertens who is much smaller led Napoli's attack for years. Have you also ever asked why?

Iheanacho is getting better though, especially with his hold-up play and pressing.

This article is disrespectful to Olise, his father and Nigeria. We deserve an apology for this ridiculous and demeaning headline. It's high time the African community rejected any form of racist or White superiority complex from this stupid white elitist media. It's high time Black man knew that superiority in tech/industry doesn't make you a superior human. The world didn't start in the ADs.
Why do we keep demanding apology for being offended? No one owes you anything. If you feel offended, deal with it yourself. You don't change inferiority by demanding apologies, you do it by showing why you are not inferior by competing on the world stage. I apologized doesn't mean I have changed my mindset, you proving me wrong does.

Eguavoen's 4-2-4 is still the best way to accomodate Nacho. My problem is he should know when to switch it to a 4-3-3 when it becomes too predictable.

Iheanacho is so dangerous from the right edge of the 18 yard box. Most of his goals this and last season have been from there. Bottom corner, top corner, left, right, he just needs one touch to control and before you know it the ball is in the back of the net.
