Hello Gurus in the house Justi4jesu, DrDre1.

I have been following this thread for some weeks now. Please, how do I get work visa for Qatar?
You can read back on the thread for info on Qatar. Better still, you can check my previous posts or that of anyone who's commented on it to catch up.

The cheapest course to take in my field is 5000aed, which has 4 modules. making it 20k for one complete certification. but its worth it.
but people take Nebosh IGC and jump into the market hoping to have a breakthrough. when lots of ppl have it with even GCC experience.
i always ask them to think outside the box. but me wan do Nebosh too. grin grin
You've got my attention with this sir. I'd like to hear more smiley

Good a.m good people
I'm working on processing a visa to travel to
a place I can find a job and still live without fears and worries legally. I have a friend who is ready to accommodate me in Malaysia, he has been there for years,
While My agent has BAHAMAS, UAE, QATAR as options, promising that I will be received by his colleagues and start a job to get residence, but I really have no idea how things work there.
Please I need your advice on this, which country is most suitable for a normal guy with ambitions to survive better.
Other options is need be.. thanks
From your post, I assume you are just innocently trying to improve your life. What caught my attention however is about the Malaysian angle. Malaysia isn't just a place you travel to cos someone is there to receive you sir. You need to ask your friend very clear questions. What will you be doing there? What type of visa are you planning to go with? This thread is for UAE and Qatar so obviously you will get more answers on these two places here. I just thought I should point out other things to you just in case smiley

I finally arrived uae safely, cool flight with Egyptair and their pricing is fair too. I went tru abuja airport so no much hassle there except the 1k I paid cause of the palm oil I was carrying and 1k for wrapping of the bag. Excellent meal in both flights and the cabin crew where extremely polite. Am camping now in sharja though planning to relocate to dubai on monday to stay closer to the work hussle.. the sun here isn't so bad as people said and uae also isn't all that beautiful also. Please if you have any connections on how to secure a job easier please contact me. ... hv met lots of crooked 9ja agents already.
Pls don't underestimate the sun sir. Keep yourself hydrated always smiley

Anyone into management here? Like project management, planning etc , what are the courses to take here in nigeria before coming over .
You didn't state where you meant to come over to sir. However, I believe there's a lot of similarities between the two places as regards your question. As for Qatar, you are good to go if you can convincingly display your knowledge on Primavera. Most people learn the rest on the job while taking home good pay wink

Newly arrived or you've been in the country for a while? Are you looking for something in your field of study or open to other career paths? A large percentage of Nigerians are in the QHSE field but there are people into other fields too. Welcome to the thread smiley

Lol...sorry I'm just responding now. I must have missed the summons grin. The Emir is doing very well but you know he has his hands very full at the moment. The current state of things now shows that even while everything seemed normal, he had been quietly making very positive moves behind the scene wink Trust you and your family are fine by all standards

apply online. Polish your online profile with only the necessary achievements and job did. It's not that easy as I said but if u are determined you would get it. PS: UAE makes more sense than Qatar when it comes to O $ G jobs. Don't be deceived with Qatar being the richest. Arab money no dey there again. Lol.
I disagree with the latter part of ur comment. Qatar can be considered as a better option over the UAE for some reasons even beyond the O & G sector

Hi nairalanders. I have been applying for a job in qatar. I have been asked to scan my passport. Picture and one in white background. I was then asked to wait for the visa to come out. Did anyone pass through this same procedure?
Hmmm...I hope this turns out well. Mind u, a new labour law has just been introduced in the country and this is causing a lot of confusion. Almost everything has been frozen now so I'm quite interested in how this turns out. All that used to be required is a picture of ur passport data page for the processing of the visa. I advice u find something productive to do during this 'waiting' period if u are not engaged in any before now

Hello all, forgive me for not going through previous posts as someone might have already answered the question I'm about to ask :

I'd like to get a job in Qatar, as it's difficult to get a job in naija these days. I studied Science and Technology in Unilag and graduated with a second class lower.
My question is ; Is there hope for me of getting a job in Qatar?...and if there is, what are the processes in need to go through to secure a job over there?

I know my questions require a lot of answers, I'd really be appreciative to anyone who takes his time to answer them all.
Thank you so much.
Cc justwise
Ur question does require quite some explanation but I'd just be direct with u. The chances of u getting a job directly from Nigeria are very very very slim...I tired so hard not to actually use the word 'impossible'. wink

Oga

I very much salute your courage, I was in your shoes a few months ago and whilst the thought could be daunting at first, its the best thing to have ever happened I can tell you that. As previously pointed out, get a smart phone and use whatapp a lot, from here you can even use whatapp web. Allows you to type faster and easier, you also get free calls.

*Very key - you need someone that you can trust on site, to count deliveries (materials, sand anything), ensure your workers are not stealing your materials, get you first hand info on what is happening on site, get you workers/suppliers if necessary. If you can get someone who lives on site or closeby, that would even be better.

* Encourage your workers to have a smartphone etc whith whatapp. You can be keeping tabs on this and track whats happening on site, if its not the way you want it, you can highlight it ASAP. Not so important, if you have a site engineer with whatsapp etc.

Try to go on ground if possible to see yourself, a deadly mistake was averted on my foundation because I was there. No matter how much money you send, some people will always be greedy.

When shopping around for prices, get people to get you the number of like 3 suppliers and then you can compare your own prices.
Try to keep family away from your house builds, limit their involvement.

I dont know how close you are to your family etc, but my own preference is to limit involvement and deal with people only on a professional basis, you cant pick and choose family, but if the relationship is professional you can hire and fire anytime for people who are not performing up to expectation.

Wish you all the best, and remember dont let it stress you too much. Good health is better than riches.

Lastly, watch out for my blog called " BUILDING FROM THE DIASPORA"
Do let us know when the blog is up sir smiley
