Hello to everyone in the house. I have a friend who was mobilized for Batch A, but he's above 30 years, willing to participate in the NYSC programme and wouldn't want to get Exemption Certificate. Is there a way out of his problem? Similarly, another friend was mobilized for the Batch A scheme, unfortunately for her the name on her Jamb Slip carries Two names while the name sent by the University Senate carries three names. She's has complained to the school management without any results. Feedback is honestly appreciated. One Love.

I can only answer the second question comfortably.
If her name has been uploaded successfully to the NYSC portal then she's good as all she need to do is to apply for name change/correction on her portal then she's good to go.
Same thing happened to me as my jamb name carries AB while my school names are ABM,but all was corrected within 24hrs on my dashboard.

What a moniker,African101,I like it,back to your question,bro,once you're with your certificate, you don't need your school ID card again as most or virtually all school collect the ID card when they issue out certificate.
Nevertheless, if you're with SOR,your ID card is a necessity.

I asked a friend who is a foreign graduate though currently serving and he sent this to me,he said as at last batch.

I'm not a foreign graduate but If you check NYSC website,i think the list is there.

Yea, the clinic is at the Whitehouse in Nass. Its just a clinic though. Thats just my fear. I wish the gave it national assembly hosp., cos they have consulting rooms,pharmacists,lab,etc.

The news is false,in fact NYSC already released a press statement on their twitter handle concerning the incidents,you can check it out and moreover Katsina is not a sharia state,i think in the whole north,it is only Zamfara state that is practicing sharia and so far the sharia stuff is not for corpers dating each other.
Moreover, here in ZM with the sharia laws,one can still eye and speak with ladies,it all depend on your package,you can only be prosecuted if you're caught engaging in immorality like having sex with lady that's not yours.
All in all,na your package matter pass,I have spoke with numerous Hausa ladies,touched them(not the one u think o)just be friendly with them infact their boys do come to my house,we dine and wine and do mingle a lot.
First weeks/month might be difficult but it depend on YOU(That's if you're posted to the north).

Late registration might limit your choice of preferred states as some "juicy" states will have be full,so always have another back-up of 4 states.

Please does anyone know how serving in katsina is like?? Am really considering Kano ( I think Mrphysics shed light on this ) or Katsina (ofelix15 you are opting katsina too? , dream2 any idea? ), having already decided on Delta, Abuja and Lagos.

I have 3 colleagues serving in katsina state and they always have a positive review of the state but you know opinions might differ.
I will probably be in katsina nextweek to see things for myself.

Haha,that's good,initially right from my final year days,I have decided to serve in the north though the northeastern states are not in my options at all,i choose Kano and Niger states respectively during my registration but I was given Zamfara state,I accepted my fate and decided that I will ENJOY my service year,and here i am,good boss,little or less work,friendly locals,respect here and there and i must say I'm grateful.
It depend on your mindset from home,if you decide that you will enjoy it,so be it,if otherwise,so be it.

On request for a new id card I was issued an identification letter instead which was signed by my HOD. I would like to know if that would suffice.

I strongly don't agree that departmental ID card will be accepted though it might depend on the officials screening you(something like he/she might just overlook it,while hmmm others will look it at it word for word).
I will advice him to go to the relevant authorities in his school as it seems they do issue a paper in lieu of the ID card.
