Liz, try eggplant. That's the closest in texture and taste; cucumber is too watery...
Food / Re: Recipes For The Fruitful Home by Dreamsinbc(f): 10:17pm On Dec 04, 2013
Amen @ Chiclasweet.
You can use cabbage in place of cauliflower. Are you sure you won't find pumpkin in Osun? Even if you don't, don't worry, there are plenty other recipes to choose from. Make the ones that feature ingredients you can get.

Amen @ your prayers once again, and welcome to the thread.

Dominique and CC, please we would like to change the name of this thread www.nairaland.com/1482239/30-day-fertility-diet-challenge/14 to 'recipes for the fruitful home'

Is it doable? And can it still remain in the health section, seeing as it's mostly recipes for optimum fertility?

Thank you.

Number one, Dreams is a she, not a he.
Number 2, what should I have written? 'I've also USE?' When I talked about Impex, I put BEFORE. Can u see any BEFORE with Midas Shipping?

Why are u going on and on? U were wrong, the english I wrote is glaringly simple. You jumped to an early conclusion. End of story.

Mavin, NOTHING in my statement implied that I used Midas Shipping before AAS Cargo. You inferred that on your own. If it wasn't clear, you ought to have ASKED, not ASSUMED.

Twinnie, lmho at 'I'm suspecting honey'. Lolz. Shey there are tests, like not dissolving easily in water, match still lighting after being dipped in honey...I think?...
You can do it any way you like, I prefer pureeing with the skin sha.

AlwaysT, God bless your heart. For posting these messages everyday, may your heart's desires be met sooner than you expect.

Iyatt, LWKMD. Lepa Shandy, the next level is to carry T&T. Much sooner than you think.

Mavinv4u, kai, you caught me sha. Read now, don't gloss over. I never mentioned using Midas BEFORE American Airsea Cargo. I used them whilst using AAS cos they had slightly cheaper rates to Lagos at the time, and i was freighting bulk. Read also that the first 4 times were okay. Please, take the time to read a post, and maybe even a person's previous posts before launching an unfounded attack.

Uteh, Knorr gini? You wan make i faint in public? I'm farrrrrrrr too shy to do that o. Only God knows how i did my wedding sef. My eyes were on the ground when i was dancing, and I was sooooo glad when it was over...and that was in front of people I know! If i try the knorr thing, and am finally picked, na ambulance dem go use carry me comot for dia. it's one thing to cook in the privacy of your home, it's a whole different story when you're doing it in public.
i actually doff my hat for people who do it!
Food / Re: Recipes For The Fruitful Home by Dreamsinbc(f): 2:17pm On Nov 26, 2013
LOL @ Uteh, i also wanted to suggest Swedish bitters if you want him to take something bitter. abeg, free am ooo. I understand perfectly about the tiger nuts. Can I suggest pounding before blending to break down the structure, and make it easier to blend?

Lizzy, i don bring out your leg fully. I've not made it yet. Please naaaaaa! Ok, i will make it tomorrow and revert with the review. lmao

Moyin, don't worry. Every day is a new day. Like Lizzy said, the beauty about it is you can start at your convenience.

Molola, I can imagine your excitement. Cauliflower is not a common veggie here jare.

Venuss, it's like you want 'somebody' to be a spoilt child. he has already started rebelling against plain tiger nut milk since he tasted that one. Now strawberry? I will never hear the end of it. I will spoil him sha...

Hawtmummie, make it and lerrus know how far.

Venuss, I just followed your suggestion. I added coconut milk AND ginger and cloves. Dh is asking me why I haven't been making it like this since. shocked :/

Pumpkin pie oatmeal.
P.s-if you don't make any other one, please make this.

Ingredients

1 cup of oats
1 1/2 cups of milk
3 tablespoons of honey (or to taste)
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 tsp of ginger powder
1/2 tsp of ground cloves
1/4 tsp of nutmeg
1/2 cup of pumpkin puree

Mix everything and cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat till mixture is thick, and oats are cooked, about 5 minutes.

Pumpkin pancakes

2 eggs
ΒΌ cup pumpkin puree
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cinnamon

Whisk all ingredients together. Brush a nonstick pan with oil, or use cooking spray. Pour in batter by 1/4 cup. Cook for 2 minutes on each side.

Serve your pancakes with honey or maple syrup

Pumpkin Puree:

Chop your pumpkin into 2 inch pieces. If you have a steamer, that is perfect. Steam the pumpkin till very soft. Puree in a blender or food processor with no added water.

You can also boil the pumpkin till soft. If you boil it, it might retain some water, so after blending, put it in a pot and cook over low heat till it thickens.

It freezes well. When you defrost, if there's too much water, simmer till thick.

Kikeladea, LMHO @ 'the implication of your experiment'. Is it like yogurt now? To be safe, chuck it. No use your dh do this kind experiment.

Twinnie, will do.

Alwaystrue, lwkmd at continuing the thread. In that case, everyone will contribute recipes made with healthy ingredients (not restricted to the 30 day list). Always, you have plenty ideas, you'll share your recipes with us...maybe as we go on, we'll put a recipe index on the first page, with the page where each recipe can be found.

Lizzy has an interesting recipe for oatmeal. She used turmeric, coconut milk, and honey. She'll soon be here to share with us.

Twinnie, looking forward to your recipes ooo
