I don't know if this has been mentioned, but you can look into using instead softcups with preseed after bd to keep the swimmers close to the cervix.

Softcups were developed as an alternative to tampons/sanitary pads, but a LOT of women havr had success with it as a ttc tool, that Instead (the manufacturers) have applied for permission to call it a ttc tool instead of just a menstrual tool.

It's very safe, and very easy to insert and remove. After bd, you just put some preseed in the cup and insert. You can go about your normal day without hanging your legs high, and you can pee without fear of peeing the swimmers away.

I bought from a woman in Lagos. Got her details on olx.

Please note: Diva cups too are menstrual cups, but they don't work for this as they are deeper than Instead Softcups, and will not hold the swimmers near the cervix.

Good luck!

@Meddler, they do o. It takes 1-2 days from when the items get to Lagos. I used Lagos as reference point for Naija delivery.
Travel Ads / Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by Dreamsinbc(f): 9:16am On Nov 23, 2013
For me, the only company I would trust fully is America AirSea Cargo (aascargo). I've been using them since 2009, with no issues.

Before them, I used Impex, an experience I would rather forget.

I've also used Midas shipping, about 5 times. The first 4 times were fine. The 5th time, when they sent me an invoice, I noticed that the package size was obviously smaller than everything I had ordered. I got in touch with them, and they said they forgot to pack all my items. Another round of waiting (and, no, they don't ship in 7 days, it's more like a month).

Apart from the fact that aascargo asks you to pay an initial amount to open a virtual warehouse (which, imho, they should scrap to get more clients), they're number one for me. My items are in Lagos 7 days (at the most) after they get to their office, and their rates are competitive. Even with the recent closure of the cargo dept of the MM airport, they had other options for clients to get their goods (a sort of expedited shipping arrangement). I can't say enough good things about them.

Hawtmummie, after the challenge, you can enjoy ripe plantain in moderation, especially boiled with a vegetable sauce. So u did the plantain yimu? LOL. Kai, I'm even picturing the plantain in my mind...

Ipio, you can have Irish in moderation. Sweet potatoes are better.

Hmmm, check the blog, I have whole wheat cookies there somewhere. Will look for the link for you.

Yes, you can dry your unripe plantains in the sun.

eimuhb: Y did uu delete the vanilla n chocolate cake recipe from ur blog?

Hi, eimuhb, I did so cos the blog now focuses on healthier recipes, you get?. The recipes are below

To Die For Chocolate Cake

1 3/4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cups cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup oil
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup, brewed, hot coffee

Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare two 8" pans (grease and flour, bake release or parchment paper). Sift flour and measure out 1 3/4 cups. To the flour, add baking soda, salt, baking powder and cocoa. Sift into the bowl of a stand mixer. Add the sugar. Mix till combined (I used a wooden spoon) In a small bowl, combine buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Pour buttermilk mixture into dry ingredients and beat just until smooth. Add coffee and mix just until incorporated. Divide batter evenly between the two pans. It will be runny, but don't worry, it is as it should be. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until a toothpick stuck in the center of each cake comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to cool in the pans for 10-15 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Frost cakes as desired.

Ps: This recipe doubles perfectly. Just double all the ingredients except the oil. I would use 3/4 cup of oil in the doubled version.

If I can, you can,

Deema.

Vanilla Cake (adapted from Kaboose)

2 cups sugar (I use 1 1/2 cups of sugar)
4 eggs (I use 3 eggs, because I find 4 makes it taste eggy)
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
3/4 cup vegetable oil(please do not use groundnut oil, I found out the hard way)
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of salt

METHOD
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Line two 9-inch round cake pans with baking paper, or grease and flour them.
In a large mixing bowl, with an electric mixer, beat sugar and eggs together until slightly thickened, about 1 minute. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Add the milk, oil, and vanilla into the sugar mix, beat well. Then pour the wet mix into the dry mix and beat for another minute, just until the batter is smooth and creamy. Don't over beat. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan(s).
Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until the tops are golden and a toothpick poked into the center of the layer comes out. Loosen the sides of the cake from the pan with a thin knife, then turn out onto a rack and peel off the paper. Let cool completely before covering with frosting, if desired.

NOTE: Here, I would like to add something about cake pans. I find that the cake pans which are commonly available here are 4 inch-5 inch deep. I don't really like baking in them. Where I can, I use 2 inch deep pans, and bake in layers, and fill the cakes. If, however, you prefer using the really deep ones, please do so. The difference would be that you would use one pan, instead of two, and you would bake for longer at lower heat.

If I can, you can,

Deema

Twinnie, I'm sure this is late. I was out when I read your post, and my battery died. I hope you made your stew.

This is another one.

Fish Stew

2 Tilapia, (respectfully remove their heads-Iyatt, see?)
1 tablespoon of dried thyme
8 atarodo, pounded
1 medium red onion, chopped
½ cup of tomato paste
3 tomatoes, chopped
4 tablespoons of palm oil
2 teaspoons of salt
1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
Double stock cube

Season the fish with 1 teaspoon of salt, black pepper and thyme, and set aside for 1 hour.

Put the atarodo, 1 teaspoon of salt, onion, chopped tomatoes, and tomato paste in a pot. Add 2 cups of water. Add the stock cube. Set pot over medium-high heat.

Cook for 15 minutes, add the oil and reduce heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes.

Add the fish to the stew, simmer for
10 minutes. Enjoy

Just wanted to point something out. You can take lemon and acv. It's all in the dosage. If you're taking both, pls stick with 1/2 lemon and 1 tablespoon of acv daily. Each does other things too, eg, lemon is a diuretic and a very good source of vitamin c.

Flakeey, Omalichachim, AtandaatiAdisa, and all our silent members, I hope you guys are fine?.
