Kingpunter: Former Big Brother Nigeria contestant, Vanessa Williams, aka Vandora, has said that it is only proper for her boyfriend to seek her approval before they have sex, regardless of the fact that they are in a relationship or have been intimate before.
Recall that while in BBN, Vandora had stated that her ex-boyfriend raped her repeatedly by having sex with her while she was asleep and without her consent.
In a recent interview, she stated, “When I made that comment about my ex in the house, rape had just been ‘redefined’ and based on what we were told, I believed that what my former partner did could be termed as rape.
It was actually a long time ago that I dated the person in question and the relationship had ended as of the time I made that comment. As a matter of fact, I’ve been in my present relationship for over five years. However, at that time, I didn’t really know the gravity of what I said.
“But it doesn’t matter that we were in a relationship; what the guy did was actually rape. If anybody is taking you against your will, it is rape, whether you’re in a relationship or not.
My partner has to seek permission before we get intimate because I may not want to at that time. It doesn’t count even if we had been intimate before then. Rape is actually a big deal, and so far sex is not consensual, it is wrong.”

eyeview: So all the Yorubas have what they need and all the hausa/fulani have what they need and yet South East has lowest poverty index among the 6 geopolitical zones from last year's report?
Oh so it's no more about being an accomodating host but about having no need to invest outside. Note that Hausas like igbos trade in the west, so they draw wealth from it but igbos are the ones that makes the place better by settling and building while the other ensures his whole proceeds goes back to the north.
Whether you accept it or play the ostrich, it's only igbos that see the whole nation as home while others view anywhere outside their tribe with suspicion . You see the whole nation as home and yet you never say anything good about the people that accommodates you? And for your information because someone did not travel to your village doesn't mean that he never traveled |

StUdY1: Good morning nairalanders
Plz I really need ur advice,i opened a thread last year whether to focus on my skill or continue with education where I got different response to continue with education but now I'm thinking in a different way. My skill is still there which i'm unable to use here in school, but I found out another source of income(which is LEGIT) but this source clashes with my time table in school
I have to be online from 1:00pm-11:00pm (which is 7:00am-5:00pm over there but sometimes I might jst be online for 3-4hrs and still make better stuffs and jst log out ) to be able to a meet up with things.
I did this last month not up to two weeks and I'm able to make more than 100,000 which i'm very happy So my main concern now is that is it advisable for me to leave school and focus more on this stuff I'm doing (I'm in 100l and we are in our second semester and lecture started last week which handicapped me from doing this work)
Because it is very impossible for me to be in the lecture hall and be running this stuff because i'm already concluding that I shd jst leave this sch and go rent a small apartment and continue this work I'm doing So Plss ADVICE is urgently needed for me to know the path to follow so as not to regret later . Bros, go and make money, education can wait opportunities won't! |

Why are the Hausas not taking advantage of the Yoruba hospitality to invest and build their houses in Yoruba land like igbos?" The man stood for some seconds and changed the subject . franchasng: when we built some houses (mini estate kind of) in my village, it was a Yoruba contractor contracted from Lagos that handled all the job.
He was so loved in my whole community that so many families brought him food, etc. For the 2yrs he spent on that project, he was showered with love, he even got other jobs from neighboring families who saw his work during Xmas celebration, so he spent over 5 years in my village and was treated like a king with his boys he brought from Lagos and Ogun.
I later learnt an influential man from a neighboring community offered him a job at the state capital, he refused and said he can't live outside Lagos.
Today he lives at Otta in Ogun state, I don't know much about him now but the last time he called me, he was telling me not to forget him if any construction job comes out, I said OK.
My point, Yorubas are too cowardly, prideful and it makes it difficult for them to humble themselves and mix up outside Yoruba cities and make money. They are always feeling hunted in Igbo land like someone wants to murder them even when there is no evidence of such threat.
If Kola was an Igbo guy, he wouldn't leave my community, he would take good advantage of that entrance into Igbo land and make himself a major contractor, and own his own mansions in Igbo land, but a Yoruba man will rather die than invest in Igbo land.
On the other hand, Igbos are fearless, they fear nothing! They go to the most scary tribes and survive and live with them.
Thousands of Igbos have been killed in Kano, Kaduna, Jos, Adamawa, etc but still, Igbos own majority of the businesses and investments in Kano, Kaduna, etc after Hausa-Fulanis.
It takes braveness to conquer in business, don't expect things to be easy for you anywhere in the world.
To become successful and break records, you must leave your comfort zone! . There you go again, using the action of one single man as a yardstick to judge an entire tribe. You even went ahead and called them coward, because that's how you see them and that is exactly the reason kola could not stay in your "brave men's village" |

cheerfulpraise: Senate President Bukola Saraki has directed the National Assembly Management to distribute his severance allowance to the families of Leah Sharibu and two other aid workers killed by Boko Haram terrorists.
He also instructed children of late Senators in need of financial assistance should benefit from the allowance.
In a statement by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki stated the families of Hussaini Ahmed Khoisan and Hauwa Liman, the two murdered aid workers by Boko Haram should also be included.
In the case of the late senators’ children, Saraki directed a Trust Fund should be established by management of the National Assembly for those who may require financial assistance in furtherance of their education.
He stated that his decision to use the severance package to support the selected victims of the insurgency was based on the fact that their cases represented some of the most touching humanitarian issues debated at the plenary during the four-years of the Eighth Senate and on which his colleagues and himself made emotional and passionate speeches.
According to him, 20 percent of the severance allowance is to be donated to the family of Leah Sharibu while 20 percent is also to be paid to the family of Hauwa Liman, the aid worker brutally murdered by Boko Haram after she was captured.
Another 20 percent is to be donated to the family of the second aid worker, Hussaini Ahmed Khoisan, also murdered in the same circumstance by Boko Haram.

franchasng: Hmmm, why is it that almost all successful and famous men from all Nigerian tribes are married to Igbo ladies, why
Seems Igbo ladies bring good luck and success to their hubbies, hmmmm
Meanwhile, this just reminded me of one famous Bini (Edo) man, who said on a national TV broadcast some years ago, and I quote his words:
Igbos are the only people that love Nigeria and unite Nigeria freely and genuinely.
Igbos are the only Nigerian tribe you can find in all parts of Nigeria living and doing business peacefully and not just living there in tents or makeshift houses, but they invest heavily in any state of Nigeria they live.
They employ people of the state they live. They build mansions wherever they live. They invest wherever they live without prejudice, yet we other Nigerians treat them with hatred, it is very unfair to humanity!
The man continued...
I am not Igbo man, I am Bini by tribe but I must say the truth!
Fulanis go to all parts of Nigeria too but do they invest in the communities they go to NO! Why They are wicked, they are tribalistic and very selfish, they hate civilisation and mixing up, plus they know they are troublemakers so they prefer to live in the thick forests in temporary tents waiting to run after they cause trouble to their host communities!
....and he concluded by asking a very vital question that goes like this:
How many Yorubas or Hausas own houses, investments, hotels, industries, schools, shops, etc in Igbo states or outside their Yoruba or Hausa-Fulani states I can tell you none or maybe the few super rich ones, and why is it so It is simply because they are cunning, they are tribalistic and very selfish, they always think Igbos or other tribes will take over their investments and properties if there is any national political disagreement just as they do to Igbos. Honestly Igbos have been through a lot in Nigeria, they have been hated, nameshamed, marginalized, killed severally yet they maintain liberal mind, travel to all Nigerian states, invest in all Nigerian states, marry from all Nigerian tribes yet we hate and treat them unfairly
And in his final remarks, he said:
Igbos are the thread holding Nigeria's unity. They are the bridge that connect all Nigerian states and tribes. Igbos travel freely to all Nigerian states and live there and marry from there and invest heavily in their host states and communities yet Yoruba and Hausa-Fulanis hate this amazing tribe, believe me, there is something special about the Igbos that we other Nigerians are hiding . Oga think before you talk, Igbos are able to live and successfully do business in other people's land because the host are friendly and accommodating, the same cannot be said about the Igbos. Instead of you praising your kinsmen for having businesses in other regions, you should praise their host for being peaceful and not discrimination |

Health › Re: HELP !!! NYSC Has Destroyed My Life. by Dredgemaster(m): 2:34am On May 24, 2019 |
windhunter: Am a NYSC batch B, stream 1, 2018 corp member.
I was in NYSC permanent orientation camp Mangu, Plateau State for NYSC orientation exercise. After eating launch that was served in camp on the 12-August-2018 I started having severe heartburn, painful urination, abdominal discomfort and also felt like fainting. I took plenty of water that day and went to bed. I woke up the next day which was the day of the camp closing ceremony feeling much worse so I rushed to the camp clinic. I was given ciprofloxacin and metronidazole tablets by a doctor who was a corp member. No lab test was done to ascertain the cause of my problem. I took the tablets but didn't feel better.
As time went on my situation got worse and I struggled to walk so I decided to leave the camp and find a medical facility outside where I could receive proper treatment. When I got to the gate of the camp I was stopped by a police man. He told me I was not allowed to leave the camp until the closing ceremony was over. I told him about my health issue and that I wanted to find a medical facility outside the camp where I could get proper treatment but he still refused to let me leave and insisted that I should use the camp clinic instead. I went back to the camp clinic and there I was given an injection on the right thigh by a doctor who was a corp member.
In the previous days in camp I applied for relocation. It was not granted so I went to pursue the matter. I returned to the camp clinic later to complain that my situation was not improving but I was Ignored. I sat in the consulting room and waited but the doctors acted as if no body was sitting there. I didn't even collect my posting letter that day because I was busy pursuing my health issue. I returned home (to Abuja) that day.
Two weeks later I started having severe burning pain in the leg that was injected. The leg felt very cold but was not cold to the touch. Immediately the pain started I knew it was the injection I received at the NYSC camp that caused it. The pain is very severe in the foot and also in the thigh that was injected. The burning pain has subsequently spread to all parts of my body. I feel it all over my head and my face and its causing me constant headache. The burning pain is the type you have after very hot water pours on your skin. I also have tingling (sensation of being stabbed with pins and needles) in my hands and right foot. My right leg has become very tender to the touch making walking, sitting, and lying with the leg touching a surface very painful.
Recently my right foot has started to go numb on one side. Whenever the pain is very severe I start thinking of ways to take my life. I have been to different hospitals and also took medication but no improvement. The pain is only worsening. I wish for death everyday but death is not coming. I have informed the NYSC Zonal inspector and also LGI (Local Government Inspector) in my place of primary assignment about my situation and also discussed with my LGI in January 2019 about them summoning the corp member doctors who were with us in camp so I could identify the one who injected me and get information about what he injected me but he told me that it will be difficult or almost impossible to do that. I don't know what to do now.
Before all this happened I was planning to venture into business full time. These days I can't even concentrate when performing activities such a studying, thinking, and reflecting because of pain and constant headache. Am i pain 24/7. The best I do when the pain is at peak is manage to sleep. I have lost interest in everything including life. Has any one reading this been in a similar situation or know what I can do now to get out of this situation. I'd like to get your inputs.. Death looks more attractive to me everyday. It seems like the best option available now. I never knew all my dreams and aspirations would be shattered by just one injection shot.
Waiting for your replies.
Thanks. . Sorry for your pains but it's not enough to pray for death |
