Wordsfrombimpe: Nigerian Men Be Romantic I have never met a woman who classes herself as low value. Does that mean all women are high value? It’s either some of these women are delusional or are actually high value. Firstly, how do we know you aren’t among the delusional ones calling themselves high value? A high value woman has a car or can comfortably patronise e-hailing cabs; Uber and the likes. Such women also recognise the need to “appear as they are” so, they don’t need to buy a new dress. How does a man refusing to buy you a dress and send you tfare mean he wants to reap where he did not sow? What exactly is that thing he is coming to reap? Now, who is the gold digger between a so-called high value woman, who wants to milk a man she has not met, of his money? Truly, a man has to put in effort. But only a foolish man puts in financial effort in a woman he is not certain to bag. He could send you the money and you’ll not show up. You could show up and turn down his romantic relationship request. Finally, if you are the one in your DP, you’re already at a disadvantage in the dating pool. Making ridiculous demands even puts you further down the bottom of the food chain. |

Flows001: That is YOU. Every man is not you. Nobody is saying having a female child is bad, I personally wish to have more female children, with atleast a male, but that doesn't change the fact that a male child keeps bloodline, tribe and culture alive.. A marriage of a Yoruba man and an Igbo wife automatically means all their offsprings will be YORUBA, not Igbo, because of the man. Whether Yoruba or Igbo, my children remain my children, my grandchildren remain my grandchildren. But different strokes for different folks. |

If they inflate the budget, eno concern us, as long as they give us meaningful development. If they have funds for 2 infrastructural projects and they inflate budget of one of the projects, they won’t be able to do the other project. They use funds meant for 2 projects to do 1. For every project they do for us, we lose the other one they should have done. |

Flows001: Only a male child bears the father's name continuosly and even continues the bloodline. A female child drops the dad's name immediately after marriage, and even goes to a new family/adopts a new culture, state or even country altogether. And why should any father be worried about that? Live your life, let your children live theirs. I can decide to change my surname tomorrow, marry a Japanese woman and immerse myself in her culture. How should that be a problem? |

Love800: Wow. Thanks so much.
I want to ask my last question. Can you advise your child to study law? If I have plans of relocating my child out of Nigeria, then I won’t encourage him or her to study law. This is because laws are usually limited to a particular jurisdiction, and may be inapplicable in other regions. But if there is a plan for the child to live in Nigeria long-term, then why not? |

Love800: So lawyers are this rich? I thought they were poor and struggling to survive!
I even read here, when a thread concerning courses that are good to read in tertiary institutions, and some nairalanders were saying that law is one of the most useless course in Nigeria! Obviously not all lawyers will be poor. Some will be lucky to work with a high paying firm. Some will be lucky to get high paying clients. Demand outweighs supply, but the ones making it are making it. |

Childofaking: If you are talking about entry levels, i will agree with you that not many companies can afford to pay entry level officers that much. But for middle level and senior staff, N1M is becoming very very small now. N1M is not more than $700 now. Thats is pathetic.
Middle level workers and above in banks, oil companies, FMCGs , Big 4 audit firms and many other companies all earn far above that. For middle level workers, how many years of experience are we looking at? |

For NB, BAT, and FMCGs, it is sales and marketing that relates to my field and I don’t want it. Can you advise me Sir? |

tunjijones: Are you talking about Nigeria owned company or companies in Nigeria.
I know more than 50 people that earn over a million per month.
Earning 1m in Nigeria today doesn't mean you are rich. You are just average or even a little bit below average.
This topic has made me realise that there are so many extremely poor people in Nigeria especially on nairaland.
I earn more than that a month and I am still struggling financially. Na you dey do pass yourself o. Could probably be lifestyle inflation. |
Career › Re: For Those Earning Over ₦1,000,000 Monthly, What Do You Do To Secure Such Income? by Drella: 2:33pm On Jan 20, 2025 |
Nazgul: Name the company that pays such. Nigerian owned company. Most of you guys on this site make claims you can't defend.
If you must know, most entry level jobs in Nigeria today range from between 150k-200k
To even earn 500k sef you'll have spent a considerable number of years and gained relevant experience.
Una go just de argue for nothing.
How many Nigerian owned companies have declared sustained profit in the last 3 years that they want to pay their staffs 1m and above? Check oil companies, even indigenous ones e.g Seplat, Oando. Their salaries plus allowances and bonuses of entry level staffs run into millions monthly on the average. Go check the entry level pay for Mckinsey, BCG, and Bain consulting firms. Though they are multinationals, but their entry level pay is close to a million. Check those in core finance roles(Investment bankers, Equity researchers, Portfolio and Asset managers, etc). Their entry level salary is 500k/month on the average. I’m talking about companies like Renaissance Capital, ChapelHill Denham, Rand Merchant Bank, Cardinal Stone, Vetiva, etc. Also check Tech guys working with tech startups(not even foreign startups) and non-tech companies. Patricia, a crypto startup, was paying software engineers 1 million monthly. These are guys with about 3 years of experience. |

purples25: Men are always loud about their standards, on this forum alone, not to talk of outside. Is it not one guy that goes round here, or even several, screaming about how men must marry virgins? They do it on every thread, reminding guys of virgins, rich women or DNA. Women on this platform have left them alone. So I am surprised that a man made a low blow with a comment like that. This question about having a problem with another genders' standards should therefore be directed at you guys. There’s freedom of expression. |
