Hello everyone, please i have a major question. With this B1/B2 visa is it a must that i book both a departure and a return ticket? Will i be stopped by immigration if i don't book a return ticket beforehand? I plan on booking the return ticket after i am done with my business in the US

Oh and please one more thing; this will be my first international travel... please is qatar airways okay or should I use Air France? Qatar is two stops while air France is one stop

I had my interview on the 14th of February 2024 and I received my passport with my stamped visa yesterday, the 19th day of February. I actually got a mail last week Friday that the passport was ready for pickup and a link to DHL website to schedule the pickup

I read so many stories online about how hard Lagos can be, but I guess I was just favoured. I mean, it's my first application, I'm single, no kids, and I'm a young guy in his twenties.

But my reason for the visit was very compelling, plus I have good reasons to come back.

Was so discouraged when I saw loads of rejections but thankfully, mine was accepted.

Guys, all you need is just confidence, a defined purpose for your travel and a definite reason why you will come back and not remain in the US...

I even told them I've a relative in the US

They didn't ask me to bring any document at all..

Hopefully, I'd be able to give details of how the interview went but for now, make I go pop pepsi (I don't take alcohol)

You will be asked based on what you put down on your Ds160

That guy that was given the visa was asked everything he put down on his DS160 so have this at back of your mind

HALLO !

Fill another DS 160 and after that update it on your CGI . This process will not affect your current appointment , you are not doing anything with your appointment but you are only updating . Don't call any CGI help line . Will CGI help you to fill another DS 160 and input all your detail on it ??

After you have filled the DS 160, login to your cgi portal and click on update profile , type your new DS 160 confirmation and click save. Login back to your cgi portal after 2 days to RE-PRINT your appointment confirmation letter . Your appointment letter will shows the new DS 160 number ..PERIOD !

I still have an issue.

There's no room in the CGI portal to update my profile (screen shot included). Every tab I click directs me to an empty page which says "not found". The only tabs that opens are the "appointment confirmation" and "change document delivery" tabs

My visa application was completed sometime in May 2023, and I got at appointment for February 2024. I read somewhere that if your application is > 6 months from your initial submission, it becomes invalid. Please how true is this statement? Do I really have to fill another DS 160 form? Hope this wouldn't affect my date if I do.

You should mention him. There's certain things that you cannot easily take back after it's done. One is hiding the fact that you have family in the US.

A relative skipped to mention that he had a brother with kids in the US in order not to "complicate" his application. Funny thing was that the interview centered around his relative he refused to mention 😄.

The V.O kept asking him if he wasn't going to see his nieces and nephews but he kept denying since he had decided to stick to his story. He said the V.O just shook her head and denied him.

Now he has to reapply and state that he has a sibling there and he is cracking his head as to how to explain why he omitted that in the first place.

Gather as much information from your relative before the interview. If you don't have all the answers about your relative you can simply say so.

If I may ask… what do you think you did differently from the other two times you were denied? Did you have the same travel history? Were you better composed this time? Did you explain better what you do and your job descriptions? Did you explain nicely your travel plans? You were definitely well prepared for this interview and you gave yourselves 99% chance. These interviews are straightforward for a visit visa. Have a good travel history for vacation, have a well paying job, be specific about your travel plans and make sure you don’t mention anyone/ anything that has to do with a US citizen (family or friends). Congrats!

Hi, good day. Please why shouldn't one mention anything or anyone that has to be a US citizen? My dad's brother is a citizen and I'll be going for an exam in the US. I plan on staying with him for my short stay of less than one week in the US. I shouldn't mention this if I'm asked where I'll be staying?

I have a quick question;

I've applied for the B1/B2 visa (first timer), and I can see various appointment dates, the earliest being November 28th 2024. I've an exam to write in the US, and I intend to write it sometime in July, 2024.

Should I go ahead and select the nearest appointment available? Or should I wait, hoping that slots will open up soon for a date earlier than Nov 2024?

Don't give anyone a dime. There's no appointment for this year. A lot of people are monitoring the site so they can change their. Nothing! Lagos should be around July - August 2024.

I'll try to make this as short as possible;

I'll be traveling by air to Ghana for a very important exam. Seven months ago, I got the yellow fever card which has my name and my passport number.

Just two months ago, I had my international passport renewed. The new passport has a new passport number alongside with the old passport number.

Now my question goes thus; do I need to go back to port health in order to replace the yellow Fever card I already have (so that this new passport number shows on the yellow Fever card).

Or can I just present at the airport with my yellow Fever card alongside with my old and new passport(which contains both by new and old passport number)

This is going to be my First travel by air and my first time leaving the country. So I'm trying to do everything to forestall bad eventualities
