I am opinionated of the great resourcefulness of the post, nevertheless I am quite nonplussed and vacillated about how long it took to secure admission with funding, considering your excellence gre scores. I do have the profound and recondite belief that superb scores in the gre and toefl tests coupled with good gpa score should suffice enough for admission and funding, now my precept wavers since it seems likely that arduous stress is reqiured for admission and funding even with excellent scores. I would be most gracious if you can pedantically extirpate why this is so, as you have always munificently do. Once, again congratulations on your admission to one of the most prestigious university. Thanks, in anticipation.

My brother, I did not pass Verbal oh (like some elders here) but the elders have spoken. I tried to read aldaily.com but could not cope after the first 3 days. Those passages are God forsaken but if you can cope, they will be of immense help. I also listened to BBC radio every morning and evening on my drive to and from work. Those tough GRE words are frequently used in their news/reports/documentaries. Good luck!

Hello people.. I guess i have a bit of bad news... I just received a mail saying my application was cancelled due to the fact that i did not submit a valid passport and current biodata... All this i am sure i submitted with all my visa page and stamp... I dont get.. Is it because i uploaded all my old and new passport ?

What is the difference between 'OMG' and 'Wow'? I am asking because I got 'Wow' a couple of times during my interview. Or would you say mine was fake as well? As you were not the VO, I think it's wrong to rubbish someone's transcript. If you are not convinced, ignore and move on.

I have been accepted to the Molecular and Cell Biology PhD program of The University of Texas at Dallas with a Graduate Tuition Scholarship that covers all tuition and fees. In addition, I will receive a very generous stipend through Graduate Teaching Assistantship.

I only contacted the Graduate coordinator on April 14 and submitted my application on May 1st when the schools were trying to play cello with my future.

I appreciate everyone that has been asking after my application status. It has been arduous, but the difficulty pales in comparison to the sweet taste of success. For those still expecting a decision, don't lose hope. #TeamFall2017 Yes we can.

Vo OK, everything looks good. I will hold onto these (my scholarship letter and transcripts) for verification. Hold onto your i-20, you will need it at the point of entry. This shows you how to pick up your visa, hands me the white paper.

Thank you all for you quick responses. I did the US PCC before. Took the fingerprints while in the US. But it became invalid on going back there. My issue now is how to do the fingerprints here in Nigeria to send to the US.. Please assist

If you are in Lagos, you can go to Alagbon. Otherwise you can be like me - follow the instructions on how to fingerprint, buy a good stamp pad and do it in the comfort of your home. To be on the safe side, you can fingerprint on up to 5 copies of the form. Then mail your application packet to FBI. I did that and got mine in 7 weeks.

Visa approved this morning at Lagos Consulate by the purportedly mean Chinese-looking guy. After dishing out blue papers, it finally got to my turn.

VO: Good morning Ma'am
Me: Good morning
VO: What are you going to do in the US?
Me: I am going to study for a PhD in Materials Engineering at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville
VO: Cool. Pass me your documents
Me: [Obliged]
VO: [Critically peruses my I-20 while I stare at him like one mumu girl and then he exclaims...] Wow! You got a full package from UVA! UVA is a great school. I am so excited for you and I can imagine you can't wait to start! Wow! This is nice! Are you excited?
Me: Yes, I am. Thank you. [At this point, I was just too shocked because it was not kind of interview I have been hearing about on here. I expected those their standard questions, which I had ready answers for]
VO: When last were you in the US?
Me: February last year, on vacation
VO: I am still so excited for you!
Me: Thank you
VO: Where is your husband?
Me: He is outside
VO: [Types and stares at his screen...] Honestly, everything looks perfect..... [Hands me white paper]. Enjoy Your studies!

Louisiana State University - My Department has 'recommended my admission' to Grad school but WITHOUT funding.

Application was submitted late Dec 2016 but my 3rd recommendation was sent in Late April 2017.

The wait is over! 5 Acceptances out of 5! Wishing everyone of us the best of luck!!! Never give up hope!

Happy belated birthday! And I am so sorry for the negative feedback from the schools. Please don't give up. I would advise you look at the MS option. You never can tell.....might just end up being a blessing in disguise. Good luck!

Please my people..... Has anyone ever needed to correct mistakes/error of Marriage Certificate that could have been contradictory to the information given on EE/eAPr i.e Proffession? if yes, how did you go about correcting it... did you need to go back to the issuing registry for correction?

in my case is a mistake on the profession part for my spouse and I

below is an extract from the Marriage Act on correction.

" Any registrar, when authorized by the Principal Registrar, may correct any clerical error in any certificate of marriage filed in his office, upon production to him of the certificate delivered to the parties, and shall authenticate every such correction by his signature and the date of such correction"

Advice from you pro would be appreciated. I have been told that a mere sworn affidavit may not suffice except correction is done by the issuing registry.

Please pros, kindly advice.

In my case, I just wrote LOE to cover it. I just said it was an error on the part of the registry and referred to my employment docs for reference. I started working on my current job way before I got married. I have submitted my app and hoping for success.

Here is my situation:

1. I've got my ITA, and currently getting funds from those who owe me, business deals and from my bestie as well. The account which i am using recently got to a very low balance, and now it's increasing to the tune of 3.2m+. The funds coming in from my bestie (> 1m+), deals and friends <700k. Do i need POF for them all or just the one >1m+?

2. Can someone help with a usuable Gift Deed and LOE format please?

3. For my Police Certificate (UK), i live in an estate (NG) and the utility bill is not in my name, i need two proofs of my current address, i have my bank statement as one, what else can i use for this purpose?

Answer to 3, drivers licence if only it carries the same address.

Na wa oh. I'm confused too. My ITA met me here in the USA (on holidays here) and my calculations show that I have spent more than 6 months cumulative on various missions in the US in the past years. So, I need PCC from US. Now, since I'm here coincidentally when my ITA came, I am planning to get the USA PCC before I return to Nigeria. Gurus please, would you advice I "kukuma" process it from Nigeria when I return? Please urgent response needed cos I'm even supposed to go to a local police department here tomorrow to get fingerprinting done.

Apply for it now. It won't be processed/dated till another 6-8 weeks. Except you are planning on remaining there for another 6+ weeks. And you would have peace of mind that your fingerprints won't be rejected.

And as per those schools rejecting him, it is a function of luck. The guy on NL who got into Princeton did not have 4.9 but his standardized test scores were stellar - 334 (Q168 V166 A5) and 115 (TOEFL).

I just wanted to add...and not trying to be funny at all. Many of our first class graduates get to foreign schools and cannot even make a merit in MS. It's appalling and I can understand why US schools don't trust our nigerian degrees. In my MS class for example, we had 6 first class graduates from Nigeria. Not even one of them could make a distinction. One managed to make a merit and the remaining graduated with pass! The three people that made distinction all had 2.1 in their BS.

Let me chime in with my little experience..... Nobody for US send your first class degree with no research experience from NIGERIA. They don't even trust your degree!!!! And our reputation is getting worse!!! UK schools will send you small because they sorta love first class degrees. That said, if I were in his shoes, I will take my first class to a top European school, gain as much research experience and come back to the US for a PhD.

Bottomline, a first class degree from Nigeria can never compare with that from America, Europe or even China and India. Let's all wake up! You need to work extra to stand out.

@happyday, those schools u mentioned except for LSU and KSU are ranked among top 50 in the US and top 100 in the world. Please give them more credit! You would be amazed that they would still turn the guy down!

Congrats to the new ITAs. Please on the post ITA form, where do I fill in travel history for family members not including in the application? Is it same section as mine, because that is where it is being asked for. And I notice a distinction cannot be made between me and the family members. Is everything supposed to be jumbled up there?
