IfnobeGod20: I don't know why you're confusing your likes? Obi petition wasn't the same with the Osun gubernatorial election that was decided by the supreme court. The Osun own borders on over voting in which Oyetola only rely on backend information supplied to him without backing it with BVAS and voters'register. The supreme court said there was no law that says INEC should transfer accredited voters (note accredited voters and not votes cast) to backend and if done it has become a secondary data, which is not known to any law. Meanwhile, Obi and LP petition borders on manipulation of votes, suppression of votes and breached of INEC guidelines. So, you can see reasons why they are presenting everything presentable. Mark you, many of the SAN handling Obi case are the same set of people that won the case for Adeleke at the Supreme court. Are you now telling me, you know more than them? Again, as they are submitting the EC8A forms, they are also submitting information provided by the BVAS along. Go back and check the details of Obi petition and stop confusing yourself and people like you. You are the one suppressing information. Now you will swallow your pride: why did the court mention form EC8A and voters register? Does that have anything to do with accredited voters? You better go and advise Obi to stop wasting his money. Form EC8A only deals with votes cast and voters register deals with issues around over-voting. I was even surprised that Obi never requested for ballot papers forensic screening. How will Obi prove that votes were inflated against him? You have a long way to go. |

I will search for a link to the video and drop it in this thread soon.
The video shows Prof. Yakubu Mahmoud addressing audience in Chatham House where he's recorded. He's recorded to have said that 'election result will be made available for public viewing on the IREV which have been a demand by public.'
He notes that the uploading of polling unit results have been deployed on 125 constituencies. notes that the IREV is their biggest archive. He further notes that presiding officers have been asked to compare results to be announced with what have been uploaded online in previous election and he confirms 99.9% accuracy.
UPDATED;
Alright, here's a link to the FULL speech of INEC chairman at Chatham House in the build up to the 2023 presidential election ;
https://www.youtube.com/live/62_6cJHniBY?feature=share Obi keeps wasting his time on iREV when a Supreme Court judgment has already pronounced that as useless. BVAS, form EC8A and voters register are the validly acceptable evidence of over-voting or rigging. It is obvious Obi has no strong evidence in that direction. I wait to see what the mathematician will say tomorrow. Even that may not be admissible by the justices if respondents are able to convince them that these did not form part of the original petition. |

Politics › Re: Tinubu Has Been Impressive But Justice Must Prevail by drlateef: 10:29am On Jun 15, 2023 |
proeast: I must say that Tinubu has been impressive so far. At least, he has been far better than Buhari who was a disaster. For the first time since the last 8 years, there appears to be some semblance of governance unlike the vacuum and confusion we experienced under Buhari. Buhari was so cunning that he thought Tinubu will be as terrible as him thereby helping to cover up his total maladministration. So far, Tinubu has disappointed him!
However, that doesn't mean that justice won't prevail. One aspect where Tinubu has disappointed is his subtle threat on judiciary. That unnecessary outburst makes him appear like Buhari who he obviously don't want to be like.
If I were Tinubu, I will focus on doing the best while allowing the judiciary to do their work. If at the end, they judge that Peter Obi is the actual winner, then he will do the honorable thing by congratulating him. By doing that, he would become one of the greatest Nigerians that ever lived. Also, he would have achieved his lifelong ambition of being a president. Additionally, he can also contest against Obi in 2027 and given the above scenario, might even end up defeating Obi.
For all Nigerians, it is very wrong to say that since Tinubu has impressed so far, then let him continue with a stolen mandate. That could be likened to someone stealing your house then renovate and paint it. Will you say he should continue possessing it because he has maintained it very well?
We should all continue to demand for justice to be done regardless, because that's how great societies are built. Please stop this idea of stolen mandate. There is no stolen mandate. All evidence points to a fair and free election in most parts of Nigeria. Few skirmishes in Lagos and Anambra state does not change over 2 million votes lead over to Obi. It is ridiculous and stale. |

Lovelink1991: Is now I know that you are not following. The lawyer who represents Obi today is called Dr. Livy who submitted Irev results today after submitting all he now today the judge that Inec chairman is escaping Subpoena on which INEC is still withholding some documents which have been pain for on which the INEC lawyer promise to release those documents. That was where INEC lawyer said Peter Obi lawyer should not be using INEC as his whipping boy for his failure. And said peter Obi has only submitted only 2 witnesses at of the 50 witnesses.
INEC will continue to use INEC as his whipping boy until INEC releases those documents. What is INEC hoarding those documents for if they are not hiding something.
WITNESSES: Why is INEC lawyer in a rush to see the witnesses Peter Obi will submit. Hence he is afraid after seeing the first two witness Peter Obi has submitted. So he should wait for the judge to ask if Obi has not witnesses. Not INEC lawyer You are the ignorant one my friend. INEC told the court there was no subpoena from Peter Obi. In other words, Dr Livvy was telling lies. Pinhero stated that INEC has responded to all subpoenas tendered to it. She also gave example of Atiku subpoenas which INEC fully provided. She stated further that INEC has no interest in one party or the other. Obi is wasting court time by seeking for adjournment with frivolous reasons. And they are wasting their time because three weeks given to Obi is almost finished. Yet Obi has called just two witnesses out of 50. Obi is not serious with the case. He knows he has lost this case. |

Politics › Re: Why Obi Will Win The Case by drlateef: 1:59pm On Jun 14, 2023 |
proeast: I'm old enough to understand the sort of politics played in Nigeria. Also, I have read 'tons' of history books to know how events always play out.
Peter Obi is likely going to win at the tribunal. Not necessarily because he has unassailable evidence but to prevent Nigeria from sliding into a dangerous pit. Yes, Obi has enough evidence to win him the case any day but he isn't going to win based on the merit of his petition but to preserve Nigeria. Again, not because if Obi fails at the tribunal Igbos will automatically break away from Nigeria. No, Nigeria's breakup won't happen over night, it will take years of continuous deterioration and anarchy before it eventually implodes. That's how other countries with similar makeup broke up. Examples abound like USSR, Sudan, Ethiopia etc.
Believe me, North stands to lose more than even Igbos if Tinubu perpetuates himself. I can assure you that they've become very anxious and full of trepidation about the status quo and what it portends for them going forward. They never thought that Tinubu will emerge president. Their calculation was that Tinubu will contest against Atiku, then Atiku will sweep the polls but they didn't reckon that Obi will become a force through LP. Obi's emergence truncated their plans. To worsen things for them, Wike also messed up PDP in the South. So, when they realized that Atiku had no pathway to winning, they decided to align with Tinubu. Tinubu was more calculative than them and with enormous money at his disposal. As if that wasn't bad enough, a mugu like Buhari was president.
The last thing North wants is a powerful Southern president who can easily have his way. If they were uncomfortable with Tinubu before, now they're likely getting scared of him. The support Northerners are giving Tinubu now is not based on love but out of fear. The same people that stopped Awolowo and Abiola from becoming president based on what they stood for now have Tinubu who is obviously more unpredictable to contend with.
They also know that Tinubu will win a straight second term if he isn't stopped. 8 years of Tinubu will definitely ensure that political and economic power is fully controlled by Yorubas. Igbos can survive such situation, at least they haven't been in power since the end of civil war. Any serious hostility in Lagos will result to divestments and reinvestment in the East. But unfortunately for North, they will have no fall back position. Political power have always been their consolation. Losing it to Yorubas will make them extremely vulnerable and their future survival in Nigeria highly uncertain.
The tribunal is their last chance of stopping a state capture. Sentiments and emotions. No facts!!! Mtchew!!! The north does not control the courts. May be you have forgotten that. |

iSense247: Today's session has ended and I think it was productive. Let me tell you what happened:
The way LP tendered those clips is HOW YOU TENDER AN EVIDENCE IN COURT, then drop the mic and walk away from the respondents.
While the respondents were expecting to see just Mahmood Yakubu, the LP team hit them with Festus Okoye and Tinubu/shettima's double nomination as well.
All along, the respondents relied on Shettima's nomination letter and even argued about the dates, but guess what happened today? LP team played a 'cassette' of Tinubu VERBALLY announcing that Shettima has been picked as his running mate days before the so-called letter was written.
At the end of the clip, the respondents didn't know what to ask. They started asking the witness if Festus Okoye, Mahmood Yakubu, and the cameramen are still alive! That's all they had to say after watching those clips.
Hilarious!
Even the judges didn’t see it coming😂
That was a masterstroke right there from the LP team. Damn!!!🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏
Credit: @General_oluchi That verbal announcement by Tinubu didn’t change anything. What is written down and signed and obtained by INEC is what counts in law. All these are theatrics to make you happy. But it carries no effects in law. |

Reference: So where was the DSS last year, who told them to hang on 'till a new government' came about.
Listening to the NDIC man this morning. He had all this information about the CBN and Emefiele but could not do anything perhaps for years. Is this the right way to run a government, to run a country whereby you can only talk when the 'big dog's is chained up.
Impunity does not jump on a country. It is sowed by the people when they fail to do their job of vigilance from the outset. When they idolize and give unilateral suport to these so called leaders no matter what they 'start' to do.
Today the impunity has started, the Executive openly influencing the election of leaders of an institution that is supposed to supervise it. Nobody is saying anything. Don't complain tomorrow. There are a few things you are ignorant about. The NDIC man just been appointed and confirmed about two weeks ago. He didn’t know anything about the rot in the system. DSS has been making attempts to arrest Emefiele. But the chief of defence staff (who will soon get sacked too) prevented his arrest by sending soldiers to protect him against DSS arrest. Buhari was just there behaving like a dead horse. The chief of defence staff is also enmeshed in this corruption because Emefiele has planted his wife in printing and minting company and she was given contract for printing the bogus Naira redesign. So, Irabor is likely to be sacked soon. |
