Politics › Re: Why Harassment Of Emefiele Is Cowardly by drlateef: 5:54pm On Jun 10, 2023 |
KingsCity: Emefiele's actions were under the direction of the former president. President Buhari himself came out and clearly informed the whole world that he approved Naira redesign. A brilliant policy that was designed to make bulk cash unavailable to rogue politicians and other criminal elements, and whoever is pained by that ought to go to Katsina and look for Buhari and leave Emefiele alone
The allegation that he was sponsoring terrorism makes no sense; he was already successful and Central Bank Governor and had no reason to sponsor any terrorist group
Emefiele was already very successful and Managing Director of Nigeria's biggest commercial bank before he left his lucrative job to serve his country. Rightly, he was given national honour by former President Buhari and certainly his harassment because they do not have the guts to go after his former boss is cowardly to say the least. Let him go and explain his cowardly arrest to DSS. Mtcheww!!! |

Once again, thank you sir. The ones that were truly scammed, those who, if they truly knew Obi was a scammer they would never have supported him, are now begging for making their monumental mistakes. All the ignorant youth they misled are now begging for forgiveness after seeing what Tinubu has done in two weeks. My word of advice for them is to always open their eyes and probe deep into scammers to unearth their true nature. And listen to words of advice by elders. If the tribunal should ever make mistake to order for a rerun, Obi will not be part of that contest, and Atiku will definitely get less than 10%. Tinubu will win more than 90% of votes with this sterling performance all within 2 weeks. |

Politics › IPOB Member Declaring National Strike: No Be Juju Be Dat by drlateef(op): 10:30am On Jun 04, 2023 |
We all know that NLC president is an igbo man. We all know that NLC president supports Obi and LP wholeheartedly, to the extent that when the cashless policy of Emefiele was killing Nigerians, NLC refused to say “pim”!!! NLC leadership has been working hand-in-glove with Obi and LP because they come from the same place. Ethnicity and political affiliation has destroyed NLC. Nobody will go on strike on Wednesday. Ajaero will see pepper. He does not realise that we are wise in Nigeria. Nobody can play underhand politics in Nigeria anymore. Ajaero ti Lulee. And for those asking if petrol is not sold at 550 naira in southwest and north, let me tell you: if you like let them sell petrol at 10,000 naira/litre, the fear of IPOB terrorists is the beginning of wisdom in Nigeria. |

And for Atiku, his foolish ranting just shows they have stolen his brain. Where would palliatives come from when debts of subsidy keep mounting? Atiku likes putting his cart before the horse. |

dre11: https://admin.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2023/06/04/nnpc-subsidy-removal-to-reduce-petrol-consumption-by-30/ The same Emefiele scenario is playing itself out again. They all agree subsidy must go immediately, just like we all agreed that cashless policy is good. But when Emefiele goofed by killing people with his implementation of cashless policy, NLC kept quiet. And even Obi and Atiku supported Emefiele. Now that subsidy is being removed again, NLC has drawn the daggers because Tinubu is the one implementing this now and the palliatives are not rolling out immediately. And again, Obi supporters are out attacking Tinubu. What a bunch of hypocrites do we have in this country? And they think they are on the side of truth? How can hypocrisy and truth live together? Whoever joins this strike is playing into the hands of Obi and IPOB. |

Politics › Re: Is the new pump price a true reflection of unsubsidised crude oil products. by drlateef: 3:44pm On Jun 03, 2023 |
Toks2008: Any efficient and responsible government should subsidise essential products for the citizens but unfortunately, the deep corrupt practises in Nigeria has made it so hard for the government to continue with the subsidy regime hence the need for us to pay for the ineptitude and corruption of the government.
It is on record that about an average of N18billion is spent to subsidise about 60 million litres consumed daily by Nigerians.
From a layman's view, to arrive at the amount the Govt spends to subsidise a litre, a simple arithmetic will be to divide 18billion by 60million litres
That will be about N300 spent to subsidise 1litre.
It was reported by the former minister of finance that the marketers usually inflate the sum so let's believe that with proper accountability the actual amount spent by the Govt on subsidy can't be more than N200 per litre.
Add N200 to the former price and we will arrive at a healthy new price of N380 or at most N400 to cater for fluctuations.
To corroborate my layman's view, a report from PENGASSAN before the new government was sworn in stated that fuel should not cost more than N400 after subsidy removal so why is the new price above N500?
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/590678-petrol-to-sell-at-n400-per-litre-after-subsidy-removal-pengassan.html Nigeria is peculiar. You are subsidising neighbouring countries and enriching the marketers. That’s what is happening in Nigeria. There must be another way to cushion the effect of high petrol prices. |

yusufadebayo02: These is the couple who owns Bovas fuel stations across the country. When other marketers increased the pump price as high as #500 following the announcement of the President. As at yesterday evening, they were selling at 198per litre. The reason they gave was that they were still selling old stock. This couple have a track record of not taking advantage of situation to purnish Nigerians. In the hit of scarcity, this company has never sold above official price and they don't hoard fuel. God bless them. *Let's celebrate them and the likes them. These are the people that are deserving of national honours. proeast: Angola, Libya, Gabon etc are African countries that produce less oil than Nigeria yet they're subsiding the refined products for their people!
Trying to brainwash Nigerians into accepting a situation that will kill them is evil.
Let these wicked politicians think out ways to stop oil theft completely. Stop the corrupt subsidy cabals by making it more transparent. Employ community vigilant groups in border communities to stop and confiscate smugglers transporting fuel to neighboring countries. Etc. That's how people with wisdom and compassion act. You don't send 90% of Nigerians to excruciating poverty because you can't use your head! Please shut up your dullard brain. Angola has just stopped subsidy after Nigeria. Only countries with excess cash can subsidise consumption. Nigeria is broke and cannot afford it. We must create wealth first before sharing it. |

A government or a president that has the political will and that is very decisive can crush these so called cabal within minutes.
The problem here is that our so called elected and appointed leaders are in bed with these oil cabals.
Let me ask you, is it right for the government of the day to suffer the masses because they lack the political will to confront and crush these Oil cabals. The answer is NO The government now has the political will after many years. The suffering is a short term one to correct the evils of the past. The masses must support the government because they voted the government in. |

Jonathan was so much afraid of them. They kidnapped the mother of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala because she also believes in removing subsidy. Shetima stated clearly that they are so powerful. But they must crush them. |

proeast: Pls what's the average IQ of Nigerians? I'm guessing it will be among the lowest in the world. Otherwise, I can't believe that a poor man who can't even feed his family or provide basic things for them would support the government on subsidy removal.
Like seriously?
No other country on Earth will pass through half of what Nigerians are passing through in the hands of their demonic rulers and still remain docile!
Many people I know in Lagos and Abuja are currently living in deficit. That is, they're spending more than they're earning now! Only transportation and food alone has taken all their income. Such grueling situation is apparently not sustainable.
If they remove subsidy, bear it mind that they will definitely loot the money! So, only gullible ones are supporting these wicked politicians.
Every Nigerian must support NLC now 💯. If it means staging protests, please come out in full force! If it means staying at home, pls comply 💯. After all, it's an opportunity to save money from transportation now it's so unaffordable.
A sensitive and compassionate government will first provide cushions before attempting to remove subsidy. They should also fight corruption first. Reduce their crazy salaries and bogus allowances. Stop constant travels abroad. Stop oil theft etc. All that will help in stabilizing our economy. Not this evil plans to make every Nigerian dirt poor while the politicians and their families swim in massive wealth.
Enough is enough! Intelligence is different from wisdom. All wise people believe this madness of subsidy must stop. Unless you are sponsored by the cabal that sabotages our economy, you will never support people feeding fat on us. We have turned to Father Christmas of west Africa. This madness must stop. Palliatives will come in. We will endure the short period of hardship before palliatives come. That’s how to build a nation. No gains without pains. |

All to justify this thoughtless decision by Tinubu
Instead of fixing refineries, blocking leakages, having an effective and efficient border patrol to arrest and prosecute these smugglers Shut up!!! That’s the reality. Subsidy is only feeding economic saboteurs. Refineries will be fixed but that does not bring down the price because the refineries will sell at international rate of crude oil price. |
