frisby: Certain things like what please? Mind sharing some wisdom with a brother? look beyond certain xter and behaviours, no one is perfect. Only condone what ur own attitude accepts. Setting a girl up to take fall 4 her undersights is in my own limited opinion alittle immature if u used that to decide on her. I know someone that did exactly what u did, his friend was also the biggest player we knew then. After 4king the lady in question his guy was stuck. His player guy settled down and wedded the lady in question only for that our friend to go telling people that the other guy collected his babe from him. Meanwhile we all knew the story and that he set thr girl up but it back fired. U don't play with people's emotions. I know another case where the lady in question tried to kill herself. This one happened to me and I was the player in the second case. We lost the girl twice and tried to resuscitate her. I am glad that girl survived but she would have died cos of that silly stuff. She is married now to another person and has children for the new guy. |

jaybee3: You aren't being forced nor cajoled into turning yourself to Father Christmas.
Ask yourself these questions:
Would these people survive if I don't help them this one time? How have they been surviving thus far? Would any of them be of help to you if the tables was turned?
There is absolutely nothing wrong in saying No. No matter how much you give some will still be disappointed so what's the point in trying to help everyone and putting your financial future at risk (Your expenditure if true isn't matching your income and that's a disaster waiting to happen) Well said. |

astrodome: Help!! Friends, family, former school mates and others are killing me with financial demands. Everyday I receive facebook (fb) messages, phone calls, email messages and messages from other communication avenues from family members, friends close and distant, school mates I have not seen in 20 years but with whom I reconnected on fb, and even random fb friends (meaning I do not know them personally but somehow we managed to be friends on fb). They all have the same story: please send me money, anything.
Each month I send nearly 3k to Nigeria and they keep asking for more.
Do they think I pluck money from trees in America? Do they think every Nigerian in America is doing drugs or credit card fraud to make money? Are they thinking that since Akin or Emeka made it in America (in many cases by selling drugs and doing credit card fraud), I should also make it and therefore be able to satisfy their unending demands?
How do I explain to them that I have bills (auto, mortgage, water-sewer, electricity, gas, phone, credit card) to pay. And then I have to run my family (of 4) and fuel 2 cars, and on top of that, I have to save also for the rainy day - for when kids get to college.
I am able to resist the random fb friends because I do not have any personal connection with them, but how do I scare the ones I know off without sounding rude and unhelping? I know that when you stop giving, you become an enemy. Help! Before a fellow nairalander runs amock on the streets of America because of pressure from Nigeria
Just for disclosure: I am well-heeled in the US mid-upper middle class, earning a 6-figure pay, holds a PhD, and involved in R4D activities. But I live in a US city (name withheld) where mortgage payment alone takes 25% of my monthly income. So you can imagine that after paying all bills, I do not have tons of money left over to give out on frequent basis.
Please advise on how to handle this, Naija style . Thanks We all have the same problem. U are not the only NLer that earns 6 figures. U don't see us crying openy. Take it like a man and stop ur fake tears. One thing I tell friends that have similar complaint is this. When u try to please everyone, u displease urself. I mean u know where it pinches u and sending money to people in Nigeria is not one of them. |

frisby: Bro, I earnestly pray you do not fall victim of a girl that'll make you regret this statement you just made.
NEVER BE FOOLED BY A WOMAN'S WORDS NOR BE SWAYEd BY THEIR TEARS, they re her greatest weapons.
Most of the girls commenting here are in the active business of cheating their man. That's why the OP's (howbeit a bit extreme) methods grind their gears. I have gone past that. I am married with family. Look beyond certain things and u wont regret ur decision. |

oseod: Many girls will blast you today op and I believe its because many of them have been played like this at some point in their lives(even though they don't say) so they relate with your girlfriends story a lot
But I don't really believe "testing" is too much of a bad idea, many ppl here at some point or the other have tested (albeit subconsciously or consciously) their spouses or lovers to see if they truly love them.....
....girls do it a lot...that much I know
But I think you carried it to far 1) you said your friend is a player...meaning he's well versed in breaking down womens emotional defence , sleeping with them and throwing them aside 2) shes a human being she can fall, you also can fall ... imagine this scenario A woman wants to tests her husbands faithfulness, her husband is sexually active and she has denied him sex for 4 months.... ..then after the fourth month she brings her friend that looks like omotola have naked into the house to seduce him and is waiting at the corner to see if he'll fall..........Isn't that too much!!!!! She probably loves you but if you had shown her that you're capable of anything your player friend is capable of, who knows the story might ha e been different
I feel you aren't telling us the true story..during the time of the test, I'm sure you weren't giving her your full attention, or loving up the way you're supposed to...a very small part of you probably wanted her to fail ..hence making it all the more difficult for her Of course she wouldn't pass Pls tell that small boy |

Pchidexy: I met this girl when I was a teacher in a private school five years ago. She was a teacher as well. She was a hell of beauty. We both had feelings for each other but there wasn't anything serious. We lost contact when I left the school to pursue business. Five years later, in 2015, we met again. This time, we got really acquainted to each other. We were rolling!
The Test: I purposely gave her number and details to my friend who is a real player. He scooped her and she fell. She was money conscious as she demanded Samsung galaxy and some money from my friend. He never gave her any of those things. Just by promising her marriage she willingly opened her legs for him. All these while, I was updated by my friend. She never knew I knew about her escapades.
If you were in my shoes what would you do?
As for me I see her as worthless and only use her to quench konji. Small boys looking into life and starting it with mistakes. So what of ur friend 4ked her. So what if u now 4k her too. For all u know that girl could have being ur better half. All u needed to do was mold her. Small boy see, girls are like raw soft metal, u mold them into any form. Ur case is a sad one and I pity u not the girl. |

oakslid: Months after the 2015 elections ended, Nigerian youths are still hung up on those elections. Nowhere is this more obvious than on social media which our youths have turned to a battle ground divided into pro People Democratic Party (PDP) and pro All Progressives Congress (APC) youths. So ingrained is this animosity that each group targets elected officials and party chieftains of the opposing parties and go after them just on the basis of their party affiliation.
Things reached a comical stage when a youth attacked me for a tweet on Twitter and hours later was praising a popular youth for his tweet. Unbeknownst to him was the fact that the youth had merely tweeted my exact words but had not credited me with the quote! These shenanigans makes me concerned for our youth. Where they should be getting closer and breaking down barriers, they are holding a candle for politicians who in reality are not as divided as they lead these youths to believe.
For instance, Senator Bukola Saraki is the Senate President and Chairman of the National Assembly today. He could not have been elevated to that exalted seat were it not for the votes of senators of the PDP. What does that teach us? It teaches us that all politicians are divided by a common interest which united them when the conditions are right and temporarily divides them when they are wrong.
I advise youths not to look at Nigeria from a pro PDP or APC perspective. They should see the country from a pro youth outlook. Their future is greater than a party. Nigerian youths should not believe and act as if the only options available to them are either the PDP or the APC.
There is a third alternative. This third alternative is patriotism. I am reminded of the wise words of Mark Twain who defined patriotism as “loyalty to the country always. Loyalty to the government when it deserves it”. Our youths have to imbibe this wisdom from Mark Twain and refrain from saying and tweeting nasty stuff about each other and their religions, regions, tribes and ethnicities. Those who engage in this do not understand that foreigners follow Twitter trends and when our youths are disrespecting each other’s ethnicities and religions, they must realise that foreigners do not see us as Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo.
They just see us as Nigerians. I therefore advise our youths and indeed all Nigerians to speak of Nigeria in a way that shows the world that we value her. If we put a small price on Nigeria, we should be rest assured that the world will not raise that price. We should not come on social media to abuse one another on partisan grounds. That to me is an abuse of the platform.
This is Ben Murray Bruce and I just want to make common sense.
• Senator Murray Bruce is the senator representing Bayelsa East in the Senate Just 3 word I have for Ben Bruce and it is *Performance speaks Volume* U are wasting ur time trying to make people see reason with u. As long as u are up there and they are down there they will always see u as an outsider. But if u let ur work speak for u, people will want to associate with u. Got back to that tweeter u speok about and see what they are now saying about GEJ. The same GEJ that was the most hated man 3 months back. |

Ghande: She should ask for God intervention and act wisely, by telling the doctor "hell NO. remember nothing is hard for God to do. ( ALL PROTOCOL ARE MET TO BE BROKEN BY GOD) which god intervention are u talking about. The one he has already given her by getting her a husband or the one she is wishing tp get from him still even after marrying another man. Why are women so confused? What she is asking God to do is to put his hands in his eyes and tell her again if he made a mistake by giving her a husband. |
