Apple has finally introduced a way to stream your music, TV, and movie content from your computer running iTunes to your iOS device as part of the iOS 4.3 update. Though Home Sharing has been around since Apple released iTunes 9 in the fall of 2009, it has been limited to sharing media between computers—until now, that is. Since it's such a new feature for iOS users, we thought we'd do a quick primer on how to set it up. First, it's important to make sure your version of iTunes on your Mac or PC is upgraded to version 10.2 before trying to stream to your iOS device. Once you've made sure you're using the most recent version, go into the Advanced menu in iTunes and choose "Turn On Home Sharing." When you enable Home Sharing on your computer, your Apple ID and password are required on any other device that you want to share to (whether that's another computer or your iOS device), so make sure you know your password, and if you're sensitive about your music collection, don't give it out to strangers. Next, you must turn on Home Sharing in the preferences of your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad running iOS 4.3. This is found by going to Settings > iPod, and then scrolling down to the new Home Sharing login. Here's where you enter your Apple ID—hopefully the same one you are using for your iTunes library on your computer. After that, go into the iPod app itself and then tap the "More" tab on the bottom. There will be a house icon toward the bottom of the list that says "Shared" next to it. When you tap on Shared, the app will show you however many libraries it can find on your local network that are using your Apple ID. In my case, there are actually a few different computers that fit this description, but today there's just one. Once you select the computer that you want to stream from, the device will load up that machine's library and display its name across the top of your screen. You can then navigate through the library just as you would if you were navigating the synced music on your iDevice. read more with pictures : http://nigeriaconfidential.com/index.php/topic,21.0.html |
Adobe Systems, working furiously to disprove Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs' belief that the Flash Player is a bad match for mobile devices, will deliver its second version of the software for Android devices on March 18. The software will be available in final form through the Android Market for Android 2.2 (Froyo) and 2.3 (Gingerbread) devices and in beta form for Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablets after Google's 3.0.1 system update, Adobe said in a blog post. However, it's not for any Android device. People can check Adobe's list of Flash-capable Android devices to see if theirs made the cut. Flash Player runs cross-platform software, notably games, and is widely used to stream video to personal computers. Adobe hopes to extend its cross-platform promise to mobile devices, but it's been hard given the different user interfaces and lesser hardware abilities compared to PCs. Flash Player 10.2 for mobile brings several changes, though. One is hardware-accelerated video presentation on Honeycomb 3.0.1 devices, something that could help preserve battery power and increase frame rates for smoother video. To keep competitive on the desktop, Adobe also is working on improving Flash with versions 10.3 and 11 under development. In Oslo, Norway, it's not uncommon for a dazzling aurora borealis to light up the night sky. Or maybe it's just the Internet you're looking at. Timo Arnall, Jorn Knutsen, and Einar Sneve Martinussen from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design have found a unique way to visualize invisible Wi-Fi signals in their Norwegian city by light-painting signal strength in long-exposure photographs. Their project, which is documented in a film called Immaterials: Light painting Wi-Fi, is powered by a 13-foot "Wi-Fi measuring rod" containing 80 lights that illuminate at varying levels depending on signal reach. The glowing Wi-Fi measuring staff, which is truly worthy of Gandalf himself, is operated by a microcontroller. To create the mesmerizing visuals, the artists--Ph.D. candidates in interaction design--placed a camera nearby as the rod was taken to various locations at nighttime in the Oslo borough of Grunerlokka. The Wi-Fi visualizations are part of the research project YOUrban, which explores the intersection between design, technology, and urban life and previously showed the invisible fields surrounding RFID readers. With their Wi-Fi light painting, the designers noticed a pattern. Read more with picture & video: http://nigeriaconfidential.com/index.php/topic,18.0.html |
Foursquare has upgraded its Android and iPhone apps to version 3.0 to kick off some new and enhanced features. Officially debuting yesterday in Apple's App Store and Google's Android Market, the free Foursquare 3.0 app has added a new Explore tab that can zero in on the places you want to go. Tap a certain category, such as food, nightlife, or shops, or type in a specific phrase, such as "books" or "gas station," and Foursquare will show you a list of local spots, anywhere from 2 to 10 miles from your current location. For each spot, you can read recommendations and comments from your friends and other users, helping you decide whether to check it out or steer clear. It's all politics as usual. If you actually think these cabal in power cares about ordinary Nigerians like you and me, If you believe that , then you will believe anything. Since when have we been hearing all this promises, water for all in the year-199-, housing for all in the year-199-, food for all in the year199- , operation everything, in Nigeria we have seen and heard it all, what year are we now? now it's vision 2020, what happened to the year 2000 promise pleasssse. I guess he said that because they have found a way to corrupt facebook, that will be the only reason, does he even have a facebook account? I am just sorry for Nigeria, and Nigerians, we never ever learn, any new man we sing their praises, until they remove their mask. New government new people, new choppings, always the way, until we the people take matters into our own hands, and vote for who we really think is suitable and will serve, not rule. Where are the nearly 20 former and serving governors that we know stole, and did nothing? where are all chairmen of local governments that stole and let our people in the villages without water, roads and even market place. Without the complete eradication of corruption and corrupt practices in Nigeria, there will never be progress. There will never be good roads, water, light, or good schools. http://www.nigeriaconfidential.com/category/blog |
I first saw it on BBCnews that Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan has nominated the serving Governor of Kaduna as his Vice President, hmmm. I then put the name on google and wikipedia search to get to know my new VP, but the funny thing was there was nothing , only some tiny bits of news of him being a governor. I was curious to know the reasoning behind decison of the very lucky President to have chosen him, but apart from 2011 political inspiration to remain president, and maybe to garner some support from certain quarters and at the same time neutralize other political forces, Culled from The Nigerian Guardian Newspapers “We now have a Vice President”, the television networks announced enthusiastically, the moment Namadi Sambo ‘s name was released as President Goodluck Jonathan’s nominee for the post of Vice President after a whole week of needless pussyfooting and nearly endless politicking. You would think it was the election of a new Pope that was being announced, but this was no Papal birth, rather the politics of Namadi Sambo’s nomination and his eventual emergence draw further attention to the lack of sense in the Nigerian political process, the triumph of politics over service and how the electorate continues to be discounted in virtually everything that is important, Read the complete story on my anti corruption blog http://www.nigeriaconfidential.com/category/blog/ |
Which heart? Corruption is a cancer in Nigeria, it should have been killed long ago and we would have been better off. Tunde Idiagbon tried to, but they did not let him, the only true anti-corruption champion left in Nigeria is Nuhu, so I vote yes, The others that claim to be anti-corruption people just play mouth service , and are more corrupt. We will expose them all, slow and steady and take our country back from the common criminals. They send a thief that stole yam to 6 years jail term, and just 6 months to someone that steal bilions and made the man steal yam in the first place, we have to change all that. http://www.nigeriaconfidential.com/category/blog/ |
If they make Nuhu Ribaldu the Vice President, do you think Nigeria will be better or worse. I think he is in the caliber of Tunde Idiagbon . He can bring in his experience fighting corruption, and cleaning up the mess and stench in the system. I hope they appoint him. read more on my blog http://www.nigeriaconfidential.com. |
