there is hope bro..worm like,cob web like or other funny shaped objects in d visual field is as a result of floaters in the ocular fluids..itching and redness may be as a result of allergic reactions..such as dust,smoke etc, I wil advise u 2 visit an eye clinic asap..does d itching,redness comes along wit discharge?

Dear doc,tho av been diagnosed of myopia and allergic conjunctivitis since few years back.I was given meds and glasses but for quite,I dnt see properly at night except I'm wit a source of light or there's someone to guide my steps.I have fallen into ditches n sustained injuries cos of this and then there's dis pronounced superficial vein just beneath/beside my left eye.could I be suffering from night blindness and y is the vein so obvious?and also I squint a lot,especially wen walking under the sun and weneva i try to read or see something more clearly.tnx very mch

wot u see are wot we call floaters,mainly located in d aqueous humour,and sometimes in the vitreous..floaters in d vitreous calls 4 more concern cos of its strong rlatnship wit retinal detachment..aqeous floaters doesn't calls 4 too much concern,but because a problem wen it becomes recurrent or permanent..I wil advise u visit an eye clinic,so dat a proper diagnosis can be made

I av always seen d spot and d growth just as in d pix in my eye, the left part has started itching occasionally since last week, and I keep feeling like there is a dirt in it, yesternite it was painful. the brown spot in ur eyes is looking like wot we call conjuctival naevus,even though I can't visualize it well.this is as a result of conjunctiva degeneration,litu or nothing can be done 2 dat..concerning the itching sensation,I tink u re reacting 2 some allergies,n drugs like mast cell stabilizers and antihistamines can take care of dat..I wil advise u 2 visit an eye clinic asap

Dear Doc, my daughter started her new school dis month. She is 9, she started complaining that she couldnt see the board clearly. Even dough dey use white board. Anytime i check her notes, i find dat she usually write double letters. For instance, she might want to write elements....... She would write eleemeents. In all her subjects. Wat could possibly be the cause?

hmmn..its very gud u noticed this so early,she definitely has problems with her vision or eyes.some children underperform in school due 2 eye problem wch they have,and their parents might not notice this early enuf,thereby blaming the child and believing dey re naturally dull..there is significant rlatnship btw intelligence and the eyes..I will advise she visit an eye doctor immediately so that the necessary treatment can be given to her in form of spectacle prescription or drugs..tanx

there are many causes that can lead to that..I wil advise uvisit an eye clinic so that they can assess your tear production,stability and carry out battery of tests on u..hoping 2 ear 4rm u as soon as u return..tanx

Hello docs,.my eyes do itch me, feels dizzy even when just awake from sleep, mostly I feel a foreign object in the eyes. these mostly occur whenever I walk under the sun or when working on my Pc and phone. I visited an eye clinic some days ago, the doctor told me there is a growth in my eyes termed it PTERYGIUM. An eye drop to be used within a month was recommended, Sunshade was also recommended as this as I was told will prevent the penetration of Ultraviolet rays. Since then I have been apprehensive, Don't know if clear sunglasses also prevents UV rays Co's I Don't like the coloured ones.

pterygium is caused by exposure 2 uv rays,dusts,smoke and other exogenous substances..u nid a tinted shade that wil help 2 reduce d amt of uv rays entering ur eyes,a clear or untinted glasses can't do that.there re special sunglasses that re UV rays protected..it wil be better if u can get that..protection of the eyes against these exogenous substances wil reduce d itchy,fb sensation..but wil be perfect if u can use the sunglasses wit drugs prescribed by ur doctor..pterygium surgery,is the last resort 2 a pterygium that has fully encroached the cornea and affects vision..tanx

Hello Doc, pls I hardly see anything far and frown anytime am under the sun (been using glasses since age 9 and I wear -1.5).
Recently, I feel something like pin in my right eye, pinning it down.

please this calls 4 urgent attention.dos d eye looks red,and waters? I wil advise u 2 see an eye doctor as soon as possible,so that proper examination can be done on u,2 no if there is any foreign body lodging in ur eyes or underneath d eyelids..tanx

I've been having this issue for sometimes I notice I shed tears anytime I'm in α place that's fully lit at times during the day when I try to focus on object that are far from me

you rily nid 2 visit an eye clinic and see an eye doctor so dat they can carry out a comprehensive test on u..4rm wot u complained it shows u re short sighted and dis can also cause tearing whenever u try viewing a far object,u tend 2 strain ur eyes and contract the lacrimal gland producing tear and dis wil lead to tearing..jus see an ey doctor 4 proper medication and diagnosis..tanx

there are many things that can cause tearing..allergens,refractive error,paradoxic dry eye, foreign body and many other conditions can cause tearing..- will advise u 2 see an eye doctor asap..tanx

I realised that since 2007 I do have stye on my left eye, i have used the home made prescription (using of warm water) and it worked for me... But my problem is that it keeps coming back every year.. Pls I really want to knw what to do about it.... And pls is there any other option to cataract rather than operation

I ve alredy answered the stye part of the question..9oncerning cataract..surgical removal through cataract extraction is the known treatment option 4 matured cataract..however,immature and incipient cataract can be slowed 4rm becoming mature by using drugs rich in anti-oxidants.if any other symptoms is associated with d cataract,dat can also be treated seperately...tanx

I dont like the idea of surgery, is there any other way out? can glasses correct the eyeball to the right position? i see well with the eyes.

the muscles can be trained 2 work 2geda in form of an exercise known as orthoptic training..I wil advise u visit an eye clinic were dey can direct u 2 see an orthoptist

lol..u re rily funny..pls dnt ask the person whose team is losing..it shows u re having refractive error or pathology in ur eyes which caused u being short sighted...I wil advise u see an eye doctor asap so 2 prevent ur eyes 4rm goin bad in wot we term 'amblyopia.tanx

thanks for this wonderful thread, pls my problem started last month although I hv bn applying eye drop and and taking medication within that time it started, the eye drop seems to relief it for some time, I usually hv this heaviness of the eye with little or no aching, only that I wont feel comfortable when it starts. but i dont hv problem viewing things.within that period it started I came in contace with a girl who complained to me her eyes was disturbing her and she was using eye drop,so I dont know whether I will tagg her my number one suspect, secondly am slightly hypertensive of abt 140/80 although I take medication and control it, so pls what could be the cause of this, thanks in anticipation of your reply.

I wil like 2 know hw old u re,d drug u were using and if u ve visited an eye clinic 2 complain about this?

that means u have subluxation of d lens...u can visit an eye clinic where proper examination wil be carried out on u,and see if u require surgery 2 hep get ur lens back,or implantation of IOL (intra ocular lens)..if u re nt comfortable wit the eye glasses,u can as well get contact lens which wil make u more comfortable...try visit an eye doctor as soon as possible

Dr please i have 'temporal crossed eyes (strabismus)' i.e whenever i focus my sight on an object after some secs it crosses until i change my view. This has made me not to b able to maintain gud eye contact wen interacting. Do u think something can b done abt it?

yes,I recommend u visit an eye clinic where u can be directed 2 see an orthoptist who will help train the weak muscles so that the muscles can move back 2 its position..1e call the training orthoptic training..tanx

how do u know u have dry eye syndrome? If u have dry eye syndrome it means there is problem rung with ur film or production of tear...pls try tel me when u were diagnosed of having dry eye syndrome and ur age.

sandy or gritty sensation is a sign of foreigh body or dry eyes,or one of d many causes of fb sensation...I wil advise u go 2 a nearby eye clinic where a thorough external examination can be carried out on ur eyes and cornea..please dnt try 2 rub ur eyes or apply any medication as u can cause more damage 2 ur eyes if the fb sensation is as aresult of cornea abrasion.tanx

if the cause is physiological I.e u were born that way,then dere is little or nothing that can be done on that..only if there is an underlining cause 2 dat..but good and regular intake of fruits and green vegtables re gud 4 the eyes.m:ave u used any drugs b4?

Great work Doc, please I know you've said about red eyes but I want to detail my case so that you look into it,
I once had a hit on one of my eye by my bro while playing like 5years back,heavy hit which swelled the eye .and the problem now is
1) I do have red eyes every time I sleep and wake up and more especially in the morning but the eye I got the hit is usually more red and brings more discharge, even without sleeping my eyes at times becomes red and people will be asking if I smoked.
2) I use laptop heavily and at times I will have heavy eyes while using it or even while reading but I can read clearly both far and near. so I haven't totally concluded what is the cause for heavy and red eyes,Take note,one is always more red,and even phones gives me heavy eyes
3) I have tried glasses but immediately I put it on I'll start having tears and pains,my eyes will be drawing me,what do I do to correct it or what can I do about it

did u visit any eye clinic wen d trauma happened 5years ago? For the discharge,its as a result of infections,I advise u visit an eye clinic 4 a comprehensive eye test as soon as possible..tanx

good day bro,wot u re having is tropia/strabismus..the. Treatment option available now is orthoptic training which must be done by an orthoptist..dis training will help allign the eyes by working on the eye muscles..surgery is better if it was diagnosed earlier and when stil young..try visit an eye clinic or govt hospitals were eycare services re offered so that u can be directed to an orthoptist

I avnt used d drug for some months now pls what is ur advise for me

i gess d drug u re tryin 2 mention is ivytimol..if u ve been diagnosed of having high intraocular pressure,u nid 2 use ur drugs everyday until u re told 2 stop by ur eye doctor...so u nid take dis serius as constant raised intraocular pressure is a risk factor 4 glaucoma.tanx
