They should have made it a proper business set up, and so the donors operate as shareholders, they make profits or losses as the case may be....But about what the university charges...sincerely it is not out of the roof. Education is very very expensive, Public universities is largely subsidized by the government....lots of public institutions charge very small for the regular degree programs BUT use other means to raise funds to complement what they get in running the schools, d reason diploma and predegree programs are very expensive, see unilag business models for example.

They are looking for ways to discourage people. Some of those guys that were shortlisted for immigration are already complaining that they can't make it because of distance. Not everyone is at their state of origin and to make arrangements for travel at this time is very difficult for most people due to finances or security.

My Dad gave birth to 14 children (two wives though ) I some times wondered what he was thinking, producing so many children. But the good thing is that, he trained every one by himself and ensured we all had our university degree & with some going further to have thier masters..He tried sha oo! But if this had happened in this our era, eee nor for easy for am at all oo!!.. it would have been difficult, due to the way things are now . Thank God he enjoyed his children before his demise.

If you are rich and can afford to give your children quality life and education, then no problem but if you know your income can only cater for one, then stick to one and offer the child the best of you . I have not given up hope on becoming a lecturer. I hold a Masters degree in English Language and Literature as well as a Bachelors degree in the same discipline. I graduated as Best Graduating Student, applied for GA at my Alma mater but it was an effort in futility. Hard to believe but I have documents to back up my claim.

I proceeded with Masters, published a book and wrote some articles in journals and festschrifts. To build experience, I focused on expanding my teaching career.

I am sincerely and really interested in lecturing at the university level. Anyone who can help should kindly do so. I have been applying to various universities but the Nigerian university system prefers connection to merit/ contribution to knowledge. Thank you.
