Crvrider: That is a wrong mentality dru. You can't quit on everything without first trying to fix it. Should we all pack our bags and leave Nigeria because it ain't working? My understanding with what most drivers are saying is that things should be and can be better...obviously they aren't asking for too much. Are u aware that uber is now 3% percent commission now ? So I think uber is trying to be fair ...I just feel that if something does not pay person and u try to fix . You quit and look for something better.. Obviously the shouting and screaming has not worked. So the best thing is to look for an alternative... I can't come and kill myself.. Have done my part to help drivers that work for me. I do all my expenses both minor or major .. So I try to contribute in my own little way. |

Megadrop: But you are not Warren Buffett sir. So stalking on ur drivers brings u joy and satisfaction and In ur own understanding stalking is a passion. In other words what you have been telling us about ur drivers being committed and never defaults in payment is a hoax because i see no reason why u will be monitoring them all the way from where u said u are if truly they don't default. Ehailing in Nigeria is for today not for tmrw so channel half of ur energy into something else to save ur self the stress and by extension securing ur future like that of Warren Buffett.

When you have a passion for what u do ,it becomes fun .. It is no longer work .. That is why it is important to find something you love doing and try to make a living out of it . Once you can do that the rest is history example Warren buffet loves to trade ,he gets a kick out of it and keeps is brain very active at an old age. .. Do u known that Warren buffet is not very materialistic? This is because his job brings him joy and he doesn't consider it work .. I hope I have answered your question |

BAZ001: But sir why not encourage the drivers agitating for strike in Nigeria, rather than saying quit if you are tired of driving. Uber driver in U.S keep asking for more. Yet in this small forum we can't have one voice. SMH for Nigerians How many of them will follow through with the strike? Left to me in my opinion, drivers should switch over to home grown app like Ogataxi . That is even better, but unfortunately enough we don't patronise our own local company.. So it gets to the point that complaining will not solve anything... The same way I tell my friends in USA that complain about uber.. I just tell them to quit too .. So enough people quit, maybe uber will sit tight.. But if people are not quiting, it means that uber is doing something rite. |

That is only way uber can leave Nigeria.. But funny enough correct me if am wrong.. Nigeria is not uber main African market o .. I think South Africa and some other African countries generate more money for uber than Lagos.. So if the government decides to kick uber out ,it will not hurt them as much ..the lagos market is not worth uber fighting over .. Now if you are talking on a normal playing ground ,your boy Dangote no get chance.. There is levels to this sh * t bro ... |

waleaimi: since the new company(indriver, am sure most of u guys now know them). was mention an MPR meeting i attended, i knew something was brewing, i started looking at wht i can get on this sector from the words of the players in them, someone directed me to read this page, am very sure the company hav done their due diligence(survey).
it is very possible for any company to either beat uber or killed by uber(any which way).
in nigeria, as a case study, what is needed are 1.political backing(nobody will tell u this), trust me u just need to see the names of the promoter of mtn(their top individual shareholders) and budwizer to mention few.
2.open cheque for marketing. u need to see the values Etisalat (then) use to break into the market(X3M guys made serious money and they delivered). mtn marketing cheque book is far higher than alot of states total IGR except lagos,
3.weakness of competitions, wht i saw in tht meeting is interesting, it is serious demand and supply affecting d price of each pick ups, total freedom for driver and raiders. 0% commission is just for 6-7months,their commission is around 7-9%.
this page is interesting, alot of people read this page for different reason, i just focus on the info i need and disregard insultive and abusive comments.
you guys are all hardworking and tht is the truth.
trust me alot of guys will be given a chance for referral commission(this might just be for just 1 year, but the standard will be high).
it is very possible to beat uber(there are some billionaires tht missed uber and taxify and wont miss this)
and it is very possible for uber to kill it(the dstv & hitv story, if u know, u know) I wish them all the best |

darmilolah: Let's assume I am one of your drivers and i come to you that Oga dru last week I didn't work we dey strike for uber/bolt upward review. I even show you my dashboard that shows I didn't work through out last week on both apps.
Meanwhile, other drivers paid without any strike story.
What will be you do? If you going to go on strike, you will let me know. So that you can come and park my car for me .. .. If any of my drivers want go on strike, I will tell to come and park my car ... you can strike on your own time... plus I have tracking system that I check every now and than .. If I see that the car is sitting too long in one position, na to call driver, funny enough yesterday it happen to one of my cars .. The driver was at the same spot for hours.. So I called the driver, that how far why are u still at so and so place for hours without moving.. The driver stated that she has moved from that place long time ago .. So it was the tracking network that had issues.. We had to call the company to look into it |

Before the technology becomes mainstream, it would probably take 50 years. With the bad road in Nigeria.. And crazy traffic lol bro .. Self driving in Nigeria is wishful thinking.. maclatunji: Uber pulled in $11.3 billion in revenue in 2018, a 42 percent jump over the year before. And though its operating losses are still heavy—$3 billion in 2018—the company has slowed the bleeding, at least a bit, bringing operating losses down from $4.1 billion in 2017. Uber had 91 million active users at the end of 2018, 23 million more than a year earlier. Revenue growth, however, fell by half in 2018. This is due in part to the increasing might of Lyft, which is now snapping up users faster than its larger rival, but also because of tightening competition in meal delivery, where Uber’s big success story, Eats, is no longer growing as quickly.
https://www.wired.com/story/ubers-losing-less-moneybut-growing-less-too/ Yes you are correct my brother.. Uber has been bleeding red and not making money ... but are u aware that Amazon took 20 years to be profitable? And who is the richest man on earth now ? |

Dovehorizon: You really have little idea when it comes to personal growth, so until one becomes an entrepreneur that's growth for you. Let me enlighten you a bit Dru :
That branch manager u think no personal growth, then u need to look at this.
Executive trainee (ET) Assistant banking officer (ABO) Banking officer (BO) Senior banking officer (SBO) Assistant Manager (AM) Deputy manager (DM) Manager Senior manager (SM) Assistant general manager (AGM) Deputy general manager (DGM) General manager (GM) Executive director (ED) Managing Director (MD) These are the thirteen step ladder to the top in the industry, there may be variations between banks on this order, but basically this difference can only be in nomenclatures. So if you want to be a Managing Director in a Nigerian bank, keep up the dream, someone once did and got there.
That branch manager prolly started as an ET, promotions kicked in till he got there and there are still more growths for him.
Remember, not everyone is wired to be an entrepreneur...
Perfect example of Rich dad and poor dad .. The poor dad is trained to do what the society has been programed .. Like go to school ,get a college education, than get a good job be lawyer, doctor ,engineer, teacher etc that is growth But Rich Dad decide to think outside the box ,the rich dad wants more out of life than just do a 9 to 5 ... in colleges especially in the USA entrepreneurship is not push in classes like other subjects.. It is a big business, why should they programme you to be self sufficient.. Honestly as a business man I don't want people to learn about business.. If we all business men and women ,who is going to consume the goods and services? So it is better for my own narrative for people to just do 9 to 5.. Keep the people less woke and program them to do what their parents has been telling them at birth, like go to school, get a good college education, be a doctor, lawyer, nurse etc . And than look for a good office job.. One more thing and also depend on the government for your retirement etc .. Keep the people dumb .. You are very rite dru23 does not know anything about personal growth... if that is personal growth, I don't knock you guys out .. People should just do it .. But when my family becomes rich and wealthy.. And my kids are set for life money wise ,, please don't hate on my kids o ..because when their fathers were shouting personal growth up and down ,climbing up the ladder from IT manager to branch manager to manager of all branches.. I was busy thinking outside the box and created wealth for my family... example DJ Cuppy's dad Femi Odetola.. People hate on the girl so much because of the father's wealth .. I don't hate them at all . I always say to myself when the fathers of the haters, we're busy climbing the cooperate ladder up and down .. Mr Odetola was busy creating generational wealth.. He made it now ,now personal growth bank manager etc are now screaming for nothing... maclatunji: This game is about to be changed. Trust me, the market is going to turn upside down Godwilling. Well make we dey see .. Hopefully it changes for better.. I don't see any company taking over uber.. Uber is too big ,uber has the money.. Uber can decide to do 2% commission for as long as they want ..just to kill any competition.. So the changes that you talk about, I hope they got bigger guns than uber.. This is not a matter of God o. God has nothing to do with it . This is reality here.. The only God willing I see is if uber decides to leave Nigeria or the government decides to regulate them to be favorable to Nigeria.. Or Nigerian drivers strike for two months or more collectively... |
