At times it is best to try and learn. A few people have whispered to me about the monies in waste collection. Dey there and be ignorant. Some people are making a lot of money in that space.

I trust neither of them to say the full truth. Someone in either or both camps has chopped monies and from the way this is going, in a civilised society there would be a proper investigation and report.

As much as I am not a fan of the current President, it is the greed of people that has destabilised the parties. It is known that most Nigerian politicians and their lackeys have no honour and are for sale to the highest bidder. They only get motivated to move without monies if they are being deprived from partaking in the feeding trough.

The headline is misleading. There's nowhere he called the amount a 'bribe'. Even the biased headline thoughtfully put the word bribe in quote either for the sake of deniability or to make it look like the actual word used by the man.

It's quite glaring that he didn't mention what the payment is really meant for nor who receives it. Is it expenses incurred in lobbying or statutory charges for sponsoring and presenting bills in the House? The 'accurate' report fails to mention that. Or the reporter forgot to ask clarifying questions on the revelation.

There should be no monies paid for a representative of a region to present a bill, problem, or opportunity before a council of his or her peers. That means there is something fundamentally wrong. That is different from lobbying where you attempt to convince others to support the bill.

I doubt any body staying in Lagos would deny that Lagos smells. I can't even think of a body of water that isn't polluted talk less of areas where people haven't converted to quick defecation dumps.
