Ohans04:Hahahahaha...please tell us why it was an interview to remember. We are curious |
Chai. My simulation test was no the 12th of July o. Haven't heard anything from Dragnet or MTN. A nairalander here says his friend see has been interviewed for that role or a similar role. My issue is this...if they have selected their preferred candidate they should try and inform the people that are not successful so they would not keep hoping. Anyways my mind no dey there again. If it happens it happens. |
rychard:Hmmm...thats a nice insight. However from my experience and this e of other people I know...very few recruiters actually get back to candidates to let them know that they were not successful. Most recruiters in Nigeria just ignore the other candidates once they get who they want. I actually thing that practice is unprofessional. People took out time to apply etc and the least the recruiters could do is send them an email..even if it's generic to tell them they weren't successful. Why keep people hanging. Anyways let's keep watching sha. It's been slightly over 2 months now that they started this process so I'm guessing they have finished or maybe about to finish. People should just keep working their current jobs or if they don't have any presently they should keep applying elsewhere. If MTN call then they call..if not ..life goes on. Lol. Cheers. |
I got this off LinkedIn. Gives us a look into what's happening at MTN now. Though that no mean say na all of us dem go employ o! Lol You've applied to a position that's been posted and you're wondering what is taking the recruiter so long? Here's just a snapshot of what's happening in the background: 1. 150 people applied to that job posting on Indeed. 2. Another 100 applied via the posting on LinkedIn. 3. 50 applied via the company's career portal 4. 2 people have applied internally 5. 2 people have been referred by employees 6. The recruiter has reached out to 60 people and responses are coming in daily. If it takes the recruiter at least 10 seconds to scan each resume (sometimes much less if the applicant is overseas or even out of province) imagine the time consumption. Now imagine that said recruiter is working on 10 or maybe even 40 roles at the same time. They're also pre-screening, phone interviewing and sometimes interviewing in person. Add to that, working with the hiring manager to schedule interviews up the food chain for additional meetings. On top of that, recruiters can be overseeing a wide range of projects - on-campus recruitment, branding efforts, etc. So while I'm extremely sensitive to how candidates feel during the process, I do think there needs to be a bit of a reality check re what a Recruiter's reality looks like as well. |
rychard:Hahahahaha @lion king. Make we see first. The role I applied for was for senior manager. So maybe they are different. Not sure sha |
rychard:What was the exact title of the role that your friend was called for? Hope he made it through. Even if no be me make another person get better job in this our harsh economy. |
rychard:Well it's to keep my fingers crossed. 2nd week of August is the just this last week so there is still hope for me . Lol. Will keep you guys updated. Good luck everyone |
rychard:I applied for a manager role not analyst. Haven't heard anything still sha. |
Ifexabc:Applied for the position in Risk Management. Haven't heard anything from them. I guess I should stop waiting then. Lol. |
This waiting sha. I've heard they are calling people in batches for the various positions. Issue is that one doesn't know when their positions would be called or if is already been done. Are they going to tell those that are unsuccessful that they did not make it? Or do people keeping waiting endlessly . Anyways let's keep our fingers crossed. |
My people.....any news? |
adayola:Thanks for the info. Some of the roles that went through the simulation route were manager and senior manager roles too. So from your info, successful candidates should expect to be contacted by MTN for interviews within the next one week right? Hope I'm among those called o. #God'sFavour |
Gombs:From my earlier post: Na wa o. You guys have been busy. Only a few hours gone and it's gone on to several pages. Let's restate these things again 1. Tithes are for Levites and our pastors are not Levites and therefore unqualified to receive tithes. 2. Abraham didn't give a tithe. He gave a tenth of his WAR SPOILS not from his earnings or flock. And he did it just once as that occasion warranted . 3. Jacob didn't give tithes o! Unless you guys now think that making a deal or agreement with God is now a tithe. He said that IF God did something THEN he would give a tenth. 4. Paul never paid tithes nor did he say anything about how we must pay tithes. What he asked us to do was to give freewill offering so that the Kingdom of God may be expanded . 5. We should give FREEWILL offerings whether it's 2%, 5%, 10%, 10% etc. with this the church would be maintained and the gospel would be spread . Our dear pastors spreading the gospel is to spread it to places that need d light not the places that brought the light to dark Africa. So pls don't open branches in London and New York. Open it in Somalia or Congo basin or some other place that needs it. While you are at it don't buy private jet to go there. Use our giving to spread the word not throw parties in Dubai or buy private jets or buy gucci bags etc. Lol. So my dear people of God ...let's give to the spreading of the Gospel ...as much as we can but please stop calling it Tithe. We can give 99% if we can sef. And pls question your pastor if you see that your church isn't doing much evangelism but instead na new cars and private jets the church dey acquire. #TestEverything Shalom |

Junia:Point of correction ...I don't agree with saying that Tithes pre existed the levites. What Abram gave was not tithe. He gave out of his spoils of war and not from his income (he had flocks of animals he also traded on), also it was a one off. Tithes were specific to the Levites. So you are on the right track just that part sha. Lol |
BERNIMOORE:Lol. What Abraham gave was NOT tithe o! Because it was a one off and it wasn't of his income/produce. It was from spoils of war...he gave 10% quite all right but it wasn't tithe. Even Jacob promised to give God 10% but then he attached a condition to it...that wasn't tithe too. They loved 10%back then but like I said before its only what was described in Deutronomy that are tithes. Deutronomy actually gives a complete breakdown on tithes and tithing but our modern day pastors seem to forget that scripture and quote Malachi . Anyways I'd keep repeating it ....our pastors are NOT Levites and hence are not qualified to collect tithes. However they can collect Freewill offerings as Paul described. #TestEverything |
Abeg all these pastors are NOT Levites and therefore should NOT receive tithes. However as Paul the apostle said we should give FREEWILL offerings to propagate the Kingdom of God. Freewill offering can be 2%, 10%, 50% etc...as you choose of your freewill. Also all these pastors...one question for you...why don't you guys ever open branches in the remote areas that need the gospel why in London,New York, etc and then next private jet to take you there. #TestEverything Make una shine your eyes o! |
kolaish:I'm glad you do these things..you should actually help grow the ministry but NOT because a pastor threatens you with Malachi verses but because you are led to do so. God loves a cheerful giver. Please na freewill offering you dey give because your pastor no be levites and hence what he is collecting from you can't be tithe. That's a fact. Take care and may God continue to bless you as you give to his ministry . Shalom |
Please let me point to out the following : Tithes as God specified are for Levites. Our pastors are not Levites o! Secondly the bible specified why tithes were to be given to the levites. Pastors of nowadays have businesses etc. What the levites collect are for their sustenance not for flossing like our pastors ...jets, exotic houses and cars etc. Those pointing to what Abraham (called Abram then) gave should understand that it wasn't tithe. It was a tenth of his LOOT from his war...not a tenth of what he earned (there was money then o! After all he paid money in gold to buy a plot of land to bury Sarah). Anyways he didn't pay d money from his earnings or his flock but just from the loot and he did it of his freewill...he wasn't asked to do so. Also I hope you all know Jacob too offered to pay 10% to God if God did something for him...that too is not tithe as it was tied to a condition. Like someone said earlier ...tithe is produce not money and if you want to redeem it with money you pay an addition approx 2%more making it 12% . Do u guys pay 12% to your pastors? Lol. I'm sure u don't. Anyways I believe the ministry of God should be supported. You should give to the church but only what you want to give freely for God loves a cheerful giver a d when you give (even if it's still 10% of your income) please give because u want to give and don't call it tithe. It's a freewill offering. For as Paul said we should give to support the ministry ...but it done of freewill . Abeg all these Nigerian pastors are from naija ...not from Israel and are definitely not Levites. Give because you want to. Don't be forced. Shine ya eyes. Test everything. BIBLE dey there ..make una read am. Shalom |
mainstream christianity teaches the OT laws and commandments of God are now obsolete and christians don't have to keep them. But hypocritically they still require the OT law of tithing. That is contradictory. Yes it's true the tithe can not be done as commanded by God but for a different reason. First, we must the nature and purpose of tithing according to the Father Himself then we will understand why it isnt possible today. Check out this short video and tell me what you think. https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=jnOeEgMQNyI |

drafrican:The infant ticket is a percentage of your own ticket price so that $300 is about the right price from my calculations. It usually ranges between $250- $350. BA fees is usually high. But place a call to their customer service center and see how much a return ticket for the infant would cost. Who knows it might be cheaper as someone suggested. If you call and they give you a price you can hang up, call again and you'd get a different operator who can give you another price to compare with. I say this cos some of the operators are not very knowledgeable. So its like getting a 2nd quote. Lol. |
coefoe:Fidelity Bank is selling though I think it's for account holders but still try sha. All the best |
bumby1by:California is a very very big place. Which area are you looking at? San Francisco or Southern California? What county? There are good hospitals in those areas. Avoid the main cities like SF or LA. Nearby counties have cheaper rates. As for checking for hospitals- Google is your friend. Decide on the area then use US News rating to check for hospital in the area and ratings. From there select and check their websites for costs. As for doctors, when you select the hospital you want, use the HealthGrades website to find out more about the doctors that have admitting privileges there. On that site you'd see comments and ratings for each doctor and their history. You would also see the doctor's contact details. Give the doctor a call to get quotes. If you don't have the patience to go through the forum this is your best bet. No one is going to research (go to the whole forum) for you. Either do it yourself or use the method I suggested. After doing that you then ask pointed questions for help. Then I fit help you small. Lol. ![]() |
