Yes... A year.

Quoting you, I agree about knowing the interest that one will be getting albeit it's not an investment perse. Just using it to save up for rent and my assurance policy so whatever interest I get at the end, it's super ok by me.

At least I know it's the bank that'll be responsible for my beer money for the calendar year.
As a sales guy I still have to tell you what I sell.
Make some findings on ziing and zplan.
It’s powered by investment one and you get 10% on target account.

Hello house. Can someo knowledgeable explain this?

I've been doing target savings with gtb and this is the 3rd month with zero interest. I've also read here people say target savings is more better than t bills for now cos of their interest.

Does it appear gtb don't issue interests on t. Savings or what?
If you are running a normal savings account you are entitled to interest if the Debit transaction on the savings account is Not more than 3times.

If am correct your target savings account should be different from your savings account.

If the fund in your target savings account is different from the one in your normal savings account then I think you are entitled to interest since you don’t withdraw from the target savings account.

Why not put it in fixed deposit ?

We also have our fixed deposit but the rate varies based on the amount you are fixing and the duration.

No Fixed deposit as at now gives a guaranteed rate of 8.5% on 50,000 for 365 days( I stand to be corrected tho)

So why not go for VGIF which is just like fixed deposit the rate is reviewed every 6 month.

I don't have a problem with you selling, man must whack but this is selfish advice riddled with conflict of interest. Can't you proffer advice instead of peddling a product?

These are uncertain times. In uncertain times in Nigeria, cash, preferably Fx is king. You don't even know what the value of your currency will be tomorrow.

“Please great minds, I have this spare cash I wish to invest instead of leaving it untouched in my bank account. I'm new on this thread”

From his post I feel he is new to investment and his risk appetite will be very low.

Advising such person to go into FX?

We all have our risk appetite.

In view of the current global pandemic and panic that have ensued the financial markets, it is pertinent that investors are well-informed of the likely impact and how associated risks can be mitigated. This webinar would focus on the financial impacts of COVID 19 and ways to reduce effects of the looming global recession.

GT bank offered me 12.28% this time last year for secondary market, I was doing shakara. Glad I decisively locked in my little 7m then; which matures on March19. My other 5.5m matures in April. Since I have no need for these funds when they're available once again in my GT bank account, do I leave it in the bank, judging by the measly TB rates? And other than TB, are there other reasonable/transparent investment instrument(s) out there for my small 12.5m? Thanks guys, and please stay safe in Nigeria!

VANTAGE DOLLAR FUND

The fund is an Open-ended Fixed Income Dollar Fund and will invest in Nigerian Originated Dollar Denominated assets (Sovereign and Corporates). Can someone explain more of this cos even at 8.5% interest rates as advertised monthly returns should not be less than 34k on 5m investment. I just opened an account with investment one VIGF and about to fund the account but I have to pause till I get some clarification

Am sure that issue have been addressed.
VGIF ROI is 8.5% Benchmarked against SDF.
Go ahead and fund it as we are regulated by SEC we don’t offer what we won’t be able to give.
And also Over the years investors get more than the 8.5%.
VGIF is an actively managed investment product that invests in and combines the benefits of money market and capital market, affording subscribers a diversified hedge against inflation risk whilst ensuring minimum guaranteed income as well as the principal invested, the fund is the first of its kind in the Nigerian financial services market.

In addition to minimum guaranteed return, unit holders are also entitled to an additional income of the fund’s excess return above the SDF.

Go ahead with the payment you can call your account officer.
