Just to contribute to this topic. I opened a video game shop 4 days ago. Although i already have a bet shop, the shop is big and their is space, so i bought 2 ps3 and got two tv(32'). So far the first day i made 2700. Its 50naira per game,so each game i get 100, that is when two people play. The second day i got 2300,and yesterday I got 3000. I believe when it gets to maturity I should be making up to 5000 a day. The small boy i employed was already working in a video game shop, i kind of stole him from there lol. So all his customers shifted to my shop along with him. Maybe not all but for a start im very hopeful customers will come more than they are coming now. The location of my shop is in makurdi. So I guess its still lucrative. I didn't need to buy generator and seats and fan and other stuff kos i already have all of that while running the betshop. So all i jad to buy was tv and the consoles.

I personally think the availability of these jobs are the problem.
1.Foreigners dont trust Nigerians. No Nigerian will prefer peanuts naira to dollars or pounds.
2. People will tell you there are sites to go in order to get foreign gigs but will fail to highlight this sites..
3. After struggling for a while, people give up and make do with what they have or jobs. Available, which are this Nigerian gigs, as annoying as they may be.
4. Our name have spoil kpatakpata in the outside world, immediately you say you are Nigerian, the conversation dies on its own.

I am looking to learning a tech course/skill since i have time on my hands. And im stuck between software engineering or data science. I need ideas and advice on which will be more profitable and worth it.

Skills of Data analyst: Maths(Algebra, statistics & probability), Excel or similar tools

Skills of a Top Data Scientist: Maths(Algebra, statistics & probability, calculus), Programming(Python or R), Cloud computing, SQL, Tableau and/or Power BI, software development, Machine learning & Deep learning (Computer vision, Neural networks).
