NNTR: Genesis 1:3-5, 8, 12-13 The thing, is due to arrogance, you fail, to understand that Jesus with Matthew 12:39-40, specifically and explicitly made mentioned reference to prophet Jonah in Jonah 1:17 and hinted with it something about a sign. Now the question, is. What precisely is the sign, Jesus pinpointed to, in Matthew 12:39-40 and Jonah 1:17?
I'll help you along with your blind side, by using Genesis 1:5, 8,13, to show you how God right from the beginning, mathematically has 3 days and 3 nights, to make 3 days.
Genesis 1:3-5, 8, 12-13, shows how many days and nights, are required, to give a third day. So in effect if Jesus raised on the third day, it means he spent 3 nights and 3 days in the grave (i.e. [(12+12)+(12+12)+(12+12)] = 72 hours)
Jesus, kindly enough, in John 11:9, has let us know that there are twelve hours of daylight All this is you attempting to prove your own case and I did not ask you to. So you are doing a nullity. |

Please show, using scripture (i.e. the bible verse(s)) how God, in a clear and detailed manner, leaving no room for confusion or doubt, counted three nights and three days and equated to be 3 days... Why repeat yourself? I clearly showed you that Mathew 12 stands while Mathew 16:21 and other scriptures from Hosea to Luke to Mark, all support 1 Corinthians 15:4 and Mathew 16:21. And you could not counter this, so, there is no thing here. |

Ever8090: I didn't said you have wrong me, but saying one should never fall is where I don't get... because when we sin, "we fall" pleading for forgiveness means " rising again" Meanwhile God Wants a person that does not sin a person who does not fall. And that is why He is close to those who do not sin while He does not listen to sinners. You have been doing sin and forgiveness for long and yet He is not near you, try sin-none-ness and see whether you would not see the wonder of His being near you. |

NNTR: Matthew 12:39-40 39Jesus replied, “A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Jonah 1:17 Now the LORD had appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of the fish
Matthew 12:40 doesnt stand alone, as, it has a precedent and corroborating witness in the verse of Jonah 1:17
Personal text: Jesus is not a theologian. He is God who told stories. Your research shows it stands alone on saying Christ rose after 3 days and nights", where others say "on the 3rd day". Jonah does not count it is only a case in reference and not a declaration. |

Personal text: Jesus is not a theologian. He is God who told stories. That was my very first response tctrills: Why do we keep saying that Christ was in the grave for 3 days? Friday evening to Sunday morning is actually less than 2 days. How come we keep getting this wrong. If I travel on Friday and return on Sunday, did I travel for 2 days or 3 days? I thought I told you before. Genesis 1 and other scripture shows you that God starts counting a day from the evening to the morning and not morning and evening as the world has taught everyone to count. So Friday starts from Thursday evening to Friday afternoon. (Day 1) Saturday starts Friday evening to Saturday afternoon (Day 2) and Sunday starts Saturday evening to Sunday afternoon (Day 3) |

NNTR: You see the pattern in Genesis 1:5, 8 above. Yeah? (i.e. that, always, evening before morning, makes a day) Are you not able to mathematically show how 3 days and 3 nights were reached? And I have given the computation of a day using the evening and the morning view which shows that 1 Corinthians 15:4 which says He rose up on the 3rd Day is accurate. |

John 19:31 It was the day of preparation, and the Jewish leaders didn’t want the bodies hanging there the next day, which was the Sabbath (and a very special Sabbath, because it was Passover week). So they asked Pilate to hasten their deaths by ordering that their legs be broken. Then their bodies could be taken down.
It is because Jesus was hanged on the cross by 9:00am on Thursday, died by 3:00pm same Thursday day and was buried, again, on same Thursday day before sundown. Another biblical fact worth noting is that the Jewish day begins and ends at sundown, as in, sundown, is the time in the evening when the sun disappears or daylight fades.
Going on the authority of John 19:31 above, the biblical fact, reveals that the Last Supper occurred on Wednesday, never a Thursday, and so clearly shows that Jesus Christ, in fact, was crucified on Thursday, and never a Friday.
Here's how it looks: 1. Thursday day to Thursday night: Jesus was on the cross by 9:00am, died by 3:00pm and off the cross before sundown so 1 day and 1 night The Jewish day starts at sundown or nightfall of the previous evening, and continues throughout the night and following day, until the next night. 2. Friday morning to Friday night day: 1 day and 1 night 3. Saturday morning to Saturday night: 1 day and 1 night (i.e. Jesus rosed before sunrise) 4. Sunday morning: Resurrection morning
cc Dtruthspeaker Personal text: Jesus is not a theologian. He is God who told stories. Last Supper took place on the first day of the week which is Sunday "1st day of the feast of unleavened bread" Mathew 26:17 And the feast runs for a week Exodus 13:7 (Another Example of Jesus Christ obeying and keeping The Commandments yet people are teaching people that The Commandment is abolished) So, You did not compute His Unlawful Arrest, His pre-Trial, His travel time for trial between high priest and Pilate back to priest then His torture from the soldiers before being led to His Murder. |

tctrills: Sorry to say, but this doesn't make sense. Even If Friday begins on Thursday evening. Jesus rose on Sunday morn. So from your calculation, that would be still Saturday. L Matthew 28.1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. Is Sunday not the first day of the week? Is Friday evening to Saturday afternoon not the Sabbath day? And it is written, He Rose on the 3rd Day and not on the 4th day. 1 Corinthians 15:4 |

LordShiva97: Here's a question I'm asking in good faith to believers, how do you differentiate between the word of God and the word of man? ... Simple! Man's teachings are always based on man's wishes and desires and wants tailored to cover his guiltiness while raising high his hopefulness. But God's Words is Very Very Sharp and Very Painfull and it does not care whether you would be happy to receive it or not. Usually, it annoys people so very much that they do not want to hear Him Speak Again. So, that is one very big sign. The others are Man's word always follow the direction of the things man likes eg promise of riches, sinning without punishment, etc. With plenty of advertisement. But God's Word follows the things men do not like eg do not be greedy, do not sleep with anyone's wife or daughter, do not do any wicked thing etc. |

So thank you for that...And by the way, I fall in the same circle with the OP. Mine is that, before I was been told by two prophets, I personally have always wanted to work for God. I believe that my success in life is tied to my service to God in his vineyard. If I'm to join, I want to do that on a part time level, so as to be able to work and provide for my family. I don't want to depend on anybody, but rather be the one people fall to for help, even as a pastor. Okay, but my response is very much loaded and your desire for riches and alll is not letting you see God's Plan. What you are thinking is not what God has in mind for you. |
