even this current bayern isn't as dangerous as before but they still defeated that psg,believe me this current city can match any team in Europe with having a genuine chance of beating them,but my point is that even if they are beaten,it would b as a result of defensive discipline from the team and ruthless finishers,but to come out and play city attack for attack can only end one way

I also see another fellow blame injuries to Pogba and Morata as one of the major reason why Mou and Conte couldn't deploy their best tactics.

It's laughable to be honest for folks to believe you only stand a chance of beating City by parking the bus, it is the most ridiculous claim to be honest, until City scored the second goal, Spurs looked the more likely to score, in fact they had City camped in their half at some point but poor finishing and in some instances poor decision making was their undoing.

And talking about absentees, Spurs were without their best defender, Alderweireld and Sanchez who was signed from Ajax thus Pochettino couldn't deploy his usual 3 CBs at the back and had to make do with the brainless Dier who is normally deployed as a DM away from the goal to mask his occasional lapse in concentration.
In the middle, Spurs really missed Wanyama who would have done a better job in keeping KDB in check.

All in all, City though on a very fine run of form aren't invincible or out of sight yet, I'm quite sure some folks here thought Crystal Palace were gonna go down, at some point, they couldn't even get a draw but look where they are now, same with Westham and Everton... It's football and most importantly the EPL, for all of City's brilliance, they may end up without a trophy.

This performance is a reflection of how poor Spur's attack have been this season. They did match City in the first half and prevented them from playing their way. They just couldn't bring the ball into City's 18-yard box and cause real damage.

City are very good but they aren't flawless.

If you watch the game you'd notice Tottenham had the ball a lot around City's 18 yard box yet were clueless about how to trouble them. City on the other hand knew how to carve them open if given the chance.

Speed couldve helped them but it isn't the defining factor

anyways I'm just happy that city did this to the spurs most peeps here have been raving about their good football especially after they got results against Madrid...I still think d depth and quality of this city squad is underrated

Truth be told, Mikhi has not been good at all even in the final third. And moreover for a midfielder he has to help defensively, we can't continue to tolerate this kind of lackadaisical approach to games and expect to manager to keep quite, any player that is not ready to run his socks off for the team should get out, and that includes miki, what do you expect the manager to do when he has been serving us rubbish performance which culminated into losing so many points. If the above story is true, he should be offloaded quickly.

Pogba seems to be given free role in the team.

But others must have some sort of defensive role, even our CF don turn defensive striker.

Pogba is a very good player and will express him self when given the chance even with a little showboating.

all this talk about being defensive,its mostly against the big sides and besides mou is known for giving his attackers freedom to roam about,so pogba flourishing well isn't just because of his freedom,id that same freedom is given to Herrera or fellaini,it wont make a difference.

So all of a sudden we can't do without Pogba Yes, he has improved compared to last season but it's high time we start playing without a star man. This utd team should be built around at least 6-8 players & not Mou heavily relying on Pogba every now & then.

I just noticed that every match we lost this season apart from the UEFA super cup against Madrid, Pogba was not on the pitch. Even the Basel match where we dominated and conceded in the 90th minute Pogba was substituted like 20 minutes before then. Since mourihno took over we had been woeful away from home to top 6 teams. That trend was supposed to continue at Arsenal but there was a difference Pogba was playing. Yes we were dominated even more than the city game but we had a player who deliver good balls to our forwards. Not saying Pogba is god or anything cos even sometimes his performance is below par,but he's certainly our most important player this season. I am very certain that if he started against City being that we were at home, that match would have ended differently.

that's one of the factors I've been hammering on this season,not pet say pogba is our all and all,but that's the difference a quality player gives you..imagine if maybe,just maybe he played against Liverpool,Chelsea,and man city..things might have turned out differently
