Moms, I just noticed yesterday that my bump has descended at 30 weeks+. Does it mean I will soon go into labour? At my antenatal appointment yesterday, the midwife felt my bump and after checking the baby's heartbeat said you have reached junction o
I started wondering if the descended bump is not too early?

mine descended b4 30 weeks, but as I noticed and the doc confirmed, the baby descended further arnd 35 weeks plus! Last time I was checked, doc said Baby’s head has dropped low in the pelvic and I should expect her soon! I will be 40weeks in Sunday! Make una help me pray make my princess come soon! Tired of this on and off contraction

Good morning house please I’d like to know if anyone used castor oil to induce labour and if it worked for them. My sister just told me about it, she said it really helped with her second child but I’m a lil skeptical. I was induced with my first and let me tell you it was not funny one bit, I’m 3 days away from my due date and don’t want to be induced again, biko I need a response ASAP so I can go buy it.

I’m just smiling here, desperation led me to buy castor oil some days back! After walking, taking ewedu, zobo, pineapples..the contraction refused to progress..boom I went for castor oil
When the poo started...no be small o, infact contractions seized!
At some point I was walking and releasing poo uncontrollably..my husband had to take me to the clinic where I was admitted
I’m back home and resigned from taking anything again (lessons learnt the hard way..I made the innocent man spend avoidable cash)
I’m 38weeks 6days..now I’m calm and trusting God it will end in praise! The choice is yours though..it could work for you, for me after all done..I was less than 1cm dilated.

The Lord strengthen you and give you double blessing for your loss! You will testy soon

With so much tears in my eyes Am out of the race mummies, I was booked 4 cs on monday but sunday morning i wasnt hearing my baby movement, he Wasn't playing with me, so i ran to the hospital doctor wasnt on ground, d nurse checked heartbeart and said baby is fine I guess she didnt want me 2 panick, but i was not convinced i went round the town no were to do scan because it was on a sunday morning.

fast toward to Monday I left home as early as 7am with my mother in law because DH wasn't around, so I did d scan and d radiologist said I should go give my doctor the result,

when doctor saw d report he just told me DAT instant that baby was dead, I almost collapsed. my bp rose to 160/110
.
they placed me on injections and bed rest till Tuesday morning to bring baby out. I felt pain throughout that night so Tuesday morning we were waiting for doctors to do cs, but he came some minutes past 9am as against his usual 8/8;30 timing.

marathon prayers were held here and there for me,
i didnt know d stomach pains was labor so when nurse check me she say am in labour (4cm) before the team of doctors came ,and checked again, my bp also reduced so they said no cs again that I'll give birth myself.

that was how the journey of excruciating pain started from 9 am till 4pm before main show started, I saw hell the doctors and Master Jesus took charge and baby was forced out at 4;20pm

help ME thank Master Jesus for saving me despite prophesies I came out alive but without my son.

my problem now is my breast its as strong as stone I couldn't sleep throughout d night.

Its been 11 days after childbirth and I'm loving every moment with my little angel. The episotomy healed after 7days and I started sitting properly although I Neva gather liver to look the gagaina.
My bump is about 70%gone and I'm still trying to get used to the night vigil feeding as we struggled with latching for sometime.

I just look at her and remember all the nights I would stand up to pray for a baby. I'm grateful for this gift.

Thanks Cappo. I don't know how on and off contraction feels like as I'm a FTM. But I feel so much pain in my jajaina(guess its pelvic pain). Menstrual pain is very light and that's when I lie down. To get up from bed or change direction when lying down is world war II. I have been trekking daily for 45mins, doing frequent yoga exercises and taking pineapples. Do these amount to anything?

Been having low back cramps and menstral cramp..it’s gets a bit uncomfortable only for me to expect that it will progress, after a while it will just subside! Oti sumi!

Well about an hour after drinking half cup of ewedu juice (blended and sieved) the contractions started again. At first two hours apart at 5pm. Then 9pm it quickly jumped to 1hour apart. But it just felt like menstrual cramps. I made potato porridge and also boiled rice and stew sef 11pm it was looking like it has become about 20mins apart. Still bearable. Then from 1pm was when the drama began....I told hubby to take me to the hospital he said we should wait small. Haa....I just left him there o and went into the compound and started walking in circles. No slippers. After I got tired of that. I boiled water mixed it with cold and started pouring it on my tommy.
The pain had become intense but still not so unbearable. I dont know if that has to do with second time birth or the ewedu juice.

Then gbam 4am....contractions started coming in quick succession. We eventually left the house few minutes to five. By then it was still painful and quick but it didnt last too long. So i was a bit comfy.
But I honestly wanted to slap my husband especially with all the 'pele' he was busy saying.

We got to the hospital and the very young boy doctor asked h ow I was feeling. I told him contractions are now 3minutes apart. He asked to do a VE and said my cervix wasnt even open sef. Joker

The midwife looked at him like does he even know what he is saying. Apparently she could see that the contractions were hitting back to back. So she took me upstairs and told the matron to examine me.
She screamed 8cm!

I was happy ehn.
Matron started arranging things and injected me with what I dont know. Few minutes later wicked contractions started o. Chai....the world became still. And I kept calling on Jesus to help me.

Hubby just stood there pitying me.
I just wanted him to close his mouth and be gone! To wherever.
The speed of delivery was so fast ehn. I couldn't even believe it. It was nothing like my first.

I kept telling them I will push that something was pushing me. They said dont push until I couldnt take it anymore. Me I pushed o and my princess flew out weighing 2.6kg with little tears and the relief came.
Few minutes later placenta followed and the little cuts were stitched

They put her on me and took her away after a while and then cleaned me up back into the ward.

Congrats mama! My heart be racing whenever I read birth stories like this! Oh God make it easy for me o!

And wit immense gratitude to the most high, I hereby announce the birth of my princess at 6:22am this morning through vaginal delivery with minimal tears.

I got to the hospital at 5am and had my daughter at 6:22am with less drama. 2.6kg

Yes you can, the hospital pharmacist advised that once I take the Fansidar I should wait till 24hrs b4 resuming the pregnacare!

Very possible, there is still time for baby to turn, just stay positive and let her keep speaking to her LO to take rightful course

I went for antenatal yesterday and doctor says am likely to fall into labour this week but If I don't fall into labor from yesterday to Saturday, I should come back to the hospital.
my EDD is July 4th, 7th according to scan.

since yesterday my vagina bones dey pain me no be small, I can't walk properly cos its just like baby is on my vjaay

Long post alert!

I want to first of all thank Almighty God for granting me safe delivery. I say a big thank you Jesus!
I was placed on BP drugs because I developed HPB 7 months after giving birth to my son in Nov 2018. Some days in this pregnancy, the BP will be very high even while I was still on medication. But it later normalised to the point that I was getting readings of 110/70 and the rest on consistent basis.

I also had coexisting fibroids which I had always had with my previous pregnancies. Well, we managed and pulled through until I got to about 37 weeks then I became sick. I treated malaria no way. Went to the hospital and they gave me another dose, yet I wasn't myself. Couldn't breathe well and was always tired.

That was when village people decided to manipulate my digital BP monitor to work against me. It would give me 160/110 but when I rush to the hospital, the hospital manual and digital will give me normal reading.

Anyway, at 38 wks appointment, I complained of the headache I was having to the Obs/Gyn consultant and he said we should go for CS at 39 weeks. That the headache at that stage wasn't a good sign. And that baby was too big coupled with the fibroids. We agreed and picked a date.

Our HMO was contacted and code for payment was sent. But as the date approached, I thought of how to cope after CS with no one to help but hubby. My sweet mother-in-law has been sick and in another state. And I already have a 19 months toddler to handle. I told hubby I would like to wait till 40 weeks since my boy's labour started exactly when I turned 40wks.

I ran scan to check baby's weight and it was 3.6kg at 39 weeks plus. The fibroids were still little and same as when I had my boy vaginally. And so with no headache and HBP, I made up my mind to wait till 40 weeks.

Exactly on 16th, which was the real date my LMP gave me as due date (40wks), my water broke. This was around 6:30pm. I got up from the chair and noticed that I was dripping fluid. After about 30 minutes, cramps set in. It was coming in quick succession but nothing unbearable. But since the water had broken, I thought the labour might not take time so we concluded that it would be safer to head straight to the hospital.

I got there, was checked and I was only 3cm. After about 3 hours, I was at 4cm. Then the main pain started creeping in. The doc on duty told me that I could try vaginal delivery since I had given birth before. But that the consultant said I wasn't to be induced cos of my condition.

That was how I laboured and yet I wasn't progressing. They later took me to the labour room around 4am. The pains were now more intense yet, I was stuck. Then at about 10 am, I got to 6-7cm. By then, the contraction was crazy. It was like the baby wanted to push both my anus and abdomen out at the same time. I was writhing in pain. My BP was just going up and down.

They called the consultant again and he told them to add oxytocin in a certain quantity to the drip to augment the contraction. I started having back to back hellish contraction with baby stuck at 8cm. I was screaming down the hospital and asking for CS, but those midwives and nurses were busy pointing out that I ran away when I was supposed to come for the CS, and that having gotten to 8cm, they wouldn't let me go for it again.

My sisters, I was already dying, they would choke hand to check and I would still be at 8cm. They would say that baby was definitely more than that 3.6kg scan gave me and must be the reason baby was no longer descending.

The matron even said I should push at that 8cm that they could reach my baby's head just that it's a little high. I stupidly started pushing but for where. Thinking of it now, that was a stupid and costly thing she asked me to do cos I could have torn my uterus which would have been a more serious case. They just didn't want me to go through CS after the long hours of labour.

I was crying and begging them to call the gynea to come and do the CS, and they kept urging me to wait. I called for my husband but they wouldn't let him in. God then sent another doc in who is familiar with me and he was the one that mentioned that it was risky asking me to push at the stage since baby's head wasn't where it ought to be before I could be asked to push. He called it one medical term like that.

Before he came in, the MD of the hospital had already come in to ask if everything was alright cos I was really screaming. They wanted to dismiss him by telling him that there was no problem. But I called out to him and asked him to pls call the doc for CS. He then started making arrangement for another doc to come and do it since the consultant they usually use said he was in a meeting.

So after my friendly doc came and admonished the midwives, about 20 minutes later, the team for the CS landed.
The guy administering the anesthetic was very proactive. He gave me the first shot at my back but the thing didn't enter. They were already rushing to cut me to get baby out but I felt the pain which was why they repeated the shot. My abdomen down to my legs then became numb. The other doc then cut me and brought out the baby. I was numbed, but I was still feeling the pains kind of.

I was feeling what they were doing to the point that I grabbed the hands of the doc and his assistant to yank off but they stopped me. Mehn, CS no easy at all!
I was screaming in a tired voice: "So this is how CS is". I was asking them to stop that I was dying. They brought oxygen and fixed to my nose. I overheard the doc carrying out the surgery telling the other guy that he removed a fibroid.

At that point, the guy that administered the anesthetics was calling for blood and they brought one which he quickly warmed up and gave me through the line he had already set up. That guy was so proactive and knew his job. It was like he knew what he was doing more than the main guy that carried out the CS sef.

After everything, they stitched me up and wheeled me to the recovery room. And guess what? Baby's weight was really 3.6kg. I was told that serious cord held the baby which was probably why she wasn't descending beyond 8cm. That she was already turning blue when she was brought out. Had I wasted another minute pushing, the story would have been different. God forbid!

The nurses now started coming back to shine teeth after they almost allowed me to die just because according to them, I ran away from CS by not coming when I was booked initially.

Me, I gave it to them o. You don't know my reason for waiting till 40 weeks. My mother in law who is usually my backbone after delivery has been sick. If not that I have an exceptional husband, who else would have helped me after the CS?

My elder sister is good with cooking and stuffing me with food, but she is so fearful of new born babies and can't bathe them ( I was the one that handled hers for her).

If I was running away like the nurses said, I wouldn't have come back to the same hospital nah. I wouldn't have given our HMO the go ahead to approve payment ahead of the planned CS. If baby had descended to 10cm I would have pushed her out. Highest I will end up with tear.

And when you call the nurses to help you clean or feed baby formula, the young ones among them will be pointing out how it wasn't their job to do so. Being dependent on ppl is one other major reason ppl like me run away from CS.

I was told the CS procedure was a little above 3 hours.

Anyway, in everything, I give God all the glory and I have more respect for women whether you gave birth vaginally or through CS. None is easy having gone through both, and my prayer is that at the end of the day, all of you will be rewarded with carrying your 9 months package with no loss recorded.

To our GTC mothers, you are next in line for a miracle.
May the journey be easier for the rest of the pushing mamas. Forgive me for the long post.

@July belleful mamas, how are we? Hope we have started washing and packing bags small small? I keep feeling sharp pain below, esp when I'm trying to climb bike or bicycle. I don't know if its on my pelvic or uterus(don't really know the diff BTW both). Hope I'm not the only one feeling this pain? Also the heaviness right now is something else. Turning/changing positions while sleeping is like war now. I know it will all end in praise for us all.

I thought I was the only one o! The difficulty when turning is something else..I also feel a painful pull in my lower pelvic area..doctor said it’s the head of the baby! (As usual all he gives me is paracetamol for every complain) infact now I prefer to be active 24/7 bcs when I rest for 30mins and decide to stand up..it’s like my laps gets stucked in its socket! July seems like forever already..I know it will end in praise

If you are duly registered for ANC there, just go. Possibilities are that you won't even meet the previous doctor since it's government hospital

I have no idea about it. But from your description it’s one of the kind of pains my hospital said if I experience I should check in with them. How is your bp and other signs? You can return to your doctor if the pain persists

The last time I checked they said it was owk! I’ll just have to return to complain! I’ve gone to far with this preggy to take chances!

Why not try see another doctor in your hospital especially since you are not getting better

Government hospitals and their protocols! I’m thinking if I do a scan within the clinic, if findings are the same..they will probably take me more serious

Pls mamas in the house has anyone experienced a peppery painful sensation on the right side of my upper tummy, directly under my right breast! Because of pandemic I decided to go to a nearby lab just to check it out probably it’s the Baby’s leg or something (since I didn’t know what to make of it! I’m 32weeks gone) the lab guy said gall stone but it’s nothing to worry about, that it will most likely go on it’s own..I was not at peace so I decided to visit my clinic, I perceive the doctor didn’t take me serious as he just kept asking questions to make me feel like I don’t know what I’m saying, all he did was give me Pantatozine injection!
The pain did not subside, it’s as though I have an open wound in that location (it’s not ulcer)
Pls mamas any advice or relatable experience! I don’t just want to assume that every pain i feel is pregnancy related and keep mute..this is unusual!

You should let your doctor see your scan result or try and do another scan somewhere else, maybe in 2 weeks time. Most people either read their week or a week or 2 ahead at this stage due to the size of baby so I think read 3 weeks behind may need to be investigated.

About cephalic presentation, baby still have time and space to turn or flip at this stage so this might not be the final positioning but the good thing is they will mostly go back to cephalic when it time to be born.

The pain is probably as a result of baby head and the pressure been exacted on the VJ

I thought about you and this post in the bathroom this morning and made a mental note to try and answer some questions.

Sometimes it feels like your questions are being ignored... especially in the beginning. It's not intentional. You can start with tagging one or two people with your questions (like your team cappo or experienced Mamas)

On the waist pain, unfortunately it's part of the package if your 30weeks tummy is already making people ask if you haven't delivered then maybe your bump is measuring more than your baby's gestation. If you live abroad and can find pregnancy support girdle, it'll help relieve the stress on your waist. Else you can find extra strength Tylenol (acetaminophen is safe in pregnancy) and take as needed.

On the plenty questions: if I were in your shoes I'd tell them my stomach is just bigger than usual and give them a delivery month after your due date. So if I were due in August, I'd tell them baby is expected in September so they stop pestering me on why the baby hasn't come.

Flat nipples: yes some people have flat or even inverted nipples...it's nothing to worry about. They're various techniques how to breastfeed with flat/inverted nips including wearing breast shells, using breast pump or nipple enhancer to pull it out.
For the scally stuff, I think you can get nipple cream and apply as needed.

Well the latest is I went for a scan today, from my calculation I should be 31 weeks but report says 28..he also says baby is head down(cepahlic presentation) i didn’t know the turning can happen so early..any relatable experience? Besides I feel pain arnd my VJ, walking hurts as I feel pain on my right waist to my butt! I just pray I don’t exceed July..that August the Man wrote in the report is a No No..I can’t wait to be free��

Pls how do I manage serious waist pain radiating to my hips at 30weeks....it makes me get unnecessarily angry and moody! It’s like the weeks left are taking longer. I’m 30weeks! I’m yet to do a repeat scan in 3rd trimester, but previous scan has been 30th July/ August 5! And it’s a princess!
Pls the shape of my breast has been quite funny, I have something that looks like scales around my nipple and black marks on my breast! Hubby even said they look flat..any relatable experience?
