PoliticsBoko Haram Kills 7 In Kuruburu, Borno Village by duketunde(op): 10:40pm On Aug 20, 2016
At least 7 people have been killed and dozens abducted when Boko Haram militants invaded a Borno village on Saturday, according to a vigilante source speaking to SaharaReporters.

Boko Haram terrorists stormed Kuruburu village of Damboa Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State early Saturday morning, killing seven villagers and abducting dozens of more people.

The source told SaharaReporters by phone that the terrorists abducted women and carted away livestock and food items.

"They came on motorcycles and started shooting killing seven villagers and more than a dozen are still missing,"

He added "they have carted away all our livestock and foodstuffs after they set the whole village ablaze."

HealthPeople Who Hate Working Out Are More Brainy by duketunde(op): 12:30pm On Aug 15, 2016
LOL! You're probably more brainy than average, if the mere thought of jogging or working out makes you feel a little sick that is according to a new study published in the Sage of Health Psychology.

The new study published in the Sage Journal of Health Psychology observed 60 students; half of them scored high on a need for “cognitive endeavors” (that is, they enjoy activities that require thought), while the others scored low on that scale.

The group wore activity trackers for a week.

During the weekend, the two groups logged roughly equal amounts of activity. But over the course of the week, the trackers found that the high-cognitive scorers were significantly less active.

It’s important to remember that a study of 60 people is a pretty small sample.

The findings concluded that people tend to be less physically active if they have higher levels of a trait called “need for cognition” or “a tendency to engage in and enjoy effortful cognitive endeavors.”

In other words, the researchers found that big thinkers tend to be less active.

Foreign AffairsMeet 103-year-old Ice Cream Man Who Melts Our Heart by duketunde(op): 7:17am On Aug 02, 2016
Givoanni Rozzo, 103, who built a successful ice cream business in Cambridge, England, before retiring in 1995. Now he’s behind the wheel of an ice cream truck again as England's oldest ice cream, thanks to a birthday gift from his family: a fully restored Bedford HA like the one he drove in the 1960s, South West News Service reports.

Restoring the vehicle cost the family nearly $20,000, but it’s pretty sweet, with a built-in freezer and a recording of “O Sole Mio” tinkling out over the speaker.

“The van is exactly like the one I had in 1966, and I’m delighted to have it,” Rozzo told SWNS. “It is very exciting to get behind the wheel again.”

Rozzo may be pleased about the gift, but Carl Rozzo, his grandson, said he doubts the aged ice cream man will work full-time.

“I don’t imagine he’ll go out selling on the streets again, but he could maybe take it to special events, like weddings,” he told SWNS.

PoliticsNigerian, Who Are You? A Thought Provoking Question For All Nigerians by duketunde(op): 6:56am On Aug 02, 2016
Every Nigerian must read this lovely and thought provoking piece written by Prof. Pius Adesanmi.
I am hoping that this question will be asked by 180 million tongues so that we may arrive at a collective version of the same interrogation: just who the hell are we as Nigerians?

Also, this will be a rather long read, meant only for the deep. If you are the intellectually shallow type who easily dismisses dogon turenchi and grumbles that reflection is too long, heed my advice and stop reading this essay now. It is not meant for you. Go and spend your time on entertainment blogs and celebrity gossip magazines.

It is not that you, Nigerian, do not understand the fundamental significance of this question – who/what are we? It is not that you do not know that no people, no nation, no society has ever achieved greatness in history that does not boast generations of thinkers and philosophers who, moved by this fundamental existential question, established critical thought and reflection as the foundation of such societies.
The Greeks, the Romans, and the Europeans who succeeded them in our times all faced this fundamental question. Their attempts to answer it produced the leaps and bounds in human innovation and achievement that we admire today. It produced the Enlightenment. It produced modernity. It informed the bases of science and technology and invention. It produced all the gloss and shine that you, Nigerian, now go to admire in London, Paris, New York, Toronto, etc.
If you are doubting whether you are aware of the importance of this existential question – who are you? – or not, just think about how many times in your life as a Nigerian you have repeated the Socratic dictum: “the unexamined life is not worth living.” You are familiar with that saying. Granted, you may

Foreign AffairsThis Robot Builder Will Construct Your House In 2 Days by duketunde(op): 9:28am On Jul 30, 2016
Wow!This new robot builder by Australian firm Fastbrick Robotics can construct an entire house in two days.

Human workers putting finishing touch to the building

Hadrian X is a giant truck-mounted robot that can lay up to 1,000 bricks an hour using a 30-metre arm, meaning it can stay in a single position throughout.

Bricks are fed on to a conveyor belt which sends them along the robot's long arm - otherwise known as a telescopic boom.

At the end of the boom is a hand which grabs and arranges the bricks, securing them with construction glue instead of cement.

It is smart enough to leave spaces in the brickwork for wiring and plumbing, and can even cut and shape bricks to size.

Founder of Fastbrick, Mark Pivac told Perth Now: "People have been laying bricks for about 6,000 years and ever since the industrial revolution, they have tried to automate the bricklaying process.

"We're at a technological nexus where a few different technologies have got to the level where it's now possible to do it, and that's what we've done."

The robot took 10 years to create, and has cost about £4.5m in research and development so far.

Mr Pivac insists he has "nothing against bricklayers", but says he just wants to streamline the construction process.

The prototype needs no human intervention once the process begins.

Fastbrick Robotics says it will take about a year before the robot is ready to hit the market.

Foreign AffairsLuca, The Single Cell Bacterium Common Ancestor Of All Living Things - Research by duketunde(op): 7:51am On Jul 29, 2016
Scientists might have found the common ancestor that unites all life on Earth – and it’s called Luca.

Our ultimate relative was a single-cell, bacterium-like organism known as Last Universal Common Ancestor or Luca. And it could help establish how life on Earth began, at the very start.

The findings could be a huge new contribution to arguments about how life actually got going on Earth. Researchers argue about whether life began somewhere extreme – like Luca’s apparent home near a deep sea vent – or whether it in fact began somewhere more pedestrian, like a small pond.

The researchers started by looking at nearly 2000 genes of modern microbes, exploring the traces that have been passed down from the beginning of life on Earth. That meant that they could explore the bits that appeared to be able to be tracked down to the common ancestor – and use their characteristics to assemble a picture of LUCA itself.

LUCA arrived about 3.8 billion years ago, and would eventually give rise to two different kinds of simple cells: bacteria and archaea. The realisation that it did so helps settle a big problem – the fact that the three domains of life, which include bacteria and archaea as well as the eukaryotes like plants and animals, didn’t seem to have a single point of origin.

It also allows scientists to explore the 355 genes that appear to have originated in Luca and understand what they share. The organism appears to have lived in vents deep in the sea, where metallic, gassy plumes erupt from seawater that interacts with magma that comes up from the ocean floor.

In the words of the author of the article – published in Nature Microbiology this week – LUCA was “anaerobic, CO2-fixing, H2-dependent with a Wood–Ljungdahl pathway, N2-fixing and thermophilic”.

Deep sea vents continue to be a breeding ground for strange, exotic and extreme life-forms, and have long been thought to be a candidate for the place where life first came into being. Many of the genes that belong to Luca appear to support that theory, because they are the kinds only found in places with extremely high temperatures.

HealthAlcohol Consumption Linked To 7 Types Of Cancer - New Research by duketunde(op): 8:47am On Jul 26, 2016
According to a new review of research conducted by Professor Jennie Connor of the University of Otago in New Zealand, alcohol consumption even in low quntities, increases the risk for seven types of cancer.

The review, published in the journal Addiction, supports an association between alcohol consumption and cancers located in the oropharynx, larynx, oesophagus, liver, colon, rectum and female breast.

"Epidemiological and biological research on alcohol and cancer was reviewed and summarized," Connor wrote about her methods for the review. Her paper draws on an analysis conducted by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

The review finds a causal link between alcohol and cancer, which is stronger than "the long-recognized association" between drinking and cancer, Connor says in a report about the study on The University of Otago's website says. "An association means there is a relationship of some kind between the two variables.

"A causal association means there is evidence that alcohol consumption directly causes cancer," she wrote.

Connor’s review makes reference to evidence that alcohol caused roughly half a million deaths from cancer in 2012, and as many as 5.8 per cent of cancer deaths worldwide. Heavier drinking leads to a greater risk, Connor writes, but a threat still exists for drinkers who consume even a moderate to low amount of alcohol.

The findings also cast doubt on previous theories that moderate drinking protects against cardiovascular disease, suggesting that the correlation is not strong.

Her review urges people to take the dangers of drinking seriously and to and avoid what she calls "misinformation" about alcohol's link to cancer.

Foreign AffairsArtist Built A WALL Around Trump's Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame by duketunde(op): 10:56pm On Jul 20, 2016
A street artist has installed a miniature wall around Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

The 6-inch tall concrete wall, which features razor wire, “Keep Out” signs and a mini American flag, was built by a street artist known as Plastic Jesus, who has also placed “No Trump Anytime” signage outside Trump Tower in Chicago and other locations. The art installations are typically left in place for a short period and then removed.

Donald Trump secured the GOP presidential nomination Tuesday night after a roll call vote at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. The billionaire businessman is known for his controversial policy proposals, such as his plan to build a wall between the United States and Mexico to keep out illegal immigrants.

Rae, who is known for her YouTube show “Awkward Black Girl,” said that the page raised $100,000 in just six hours. That figure doubled three hours later. As of Saturday morning, more than 22,000 people raised $648,310.

She said that all of the money would go to Sterling’s family so that his five children can pay for college.

Sterling’s death was one of several that revealed old wounds that many say have not fully healed in the United States. It reawakened a national conversation about the Black Lives Matter movement and policing in African-American communities.

Foreign AffairsFree Internet: Facebook Launches Opencellular Open Source Platform by duketunde(op): 9:24pm On Jul 06, 2016
Facebook today launched platform called OpenCellular, which is aimed at reducing the number of people who don't have access to the internet.

The OpenCellular is an open source, "wireless access platform" designed to drive down the cost of setting up cellular networks in places where it has been traditionally difficult to do so. The system is designed to provide the tools to set up a complete network, from the physical equipment to the software that runs it.

According to what Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared on his page earlier today:

"On our journey to connect the world, today we announced OpenCellular -- an open source wireless access platform to bring connectivity to remote areas of the world.
More than 4 billion people still don't have basic internet access, and one of the biggest challenges is figuring out how to reach remote areas existing infrastructure doesn't cover.
We designed OpenCellular as an open system so anyone -- from telecom operators to researchers to entrepreneurs -- can build and operate wireless networks in remote places. It's about the size of a shoe box and can support up to 1,500 people from as far as 10 kilometers away.
Along with our solar-powered aircraft Aquila and high-bandwidth laser beams, OpenCellular is the next step on our journey to provide better, more affordable connectivity to bring the world closer together."

It is also of note that facebook launched the Free Basics program pushing for expanded internet access across the globe recently, but there have been some controversy. Earlier this year, India banned the company from expanding their Free Basics program into the country, while Egypt followed suit in April. So let's fold our arms and see how this system will be received across the world.

RomanceEveryone Should Do This Before Marriage, But Keep It Forever In Secret Archive by duketunde(op): 2:56pm On Jul 04, 2016
First, I will love to state here that i am not against keeping your virginity till the wedding night, but i want you to know that being a novice until the day is one of the major reason why some marriage don't last or lemme say the main reason why men cheat...You may want to ask me why ehn?
Ans: Nairalander men may beg to differ tho...but my dear sisters every man's brain is (1) between his legs and (2) his stomach..so as a novice you may get number 2 right by cooking good meals but if number is not first on your list forget someone else who knows the right strings to pull with your hubby go take over. No man will start teaching you how to get down, give head and the likes in the marriage, forget that he appreciates you being a virgin that's just to keep you as a baby making machine, while he goes out there to get served by another Edible Cathering. Don't get me wrong peeps i am not trying to elevate HOE story over being decent here but here some things you need to try out and don't forget to keep all in a secret archive after marriage and let it just remain in the past:

1. Mingle: This does not mean making friends with peeps that you don't subscribe to their kinda life, but just sit there listen to stuffs they say. Let them do all the talking while you just listen and learn from realities of life....

2. Go Clubbing once in a while: Blimme you don't want to get married and then you and your hubby went out with friends and you just dey there dey look like ZOMBIE, while things they happen around you. And before the kids start coming know the cool places where you man hang out by going out with him, you once the kids start coming there will be no time.

3. Learn how to turn a Man on: Many a times our ladies will want to get down but too shy to say it, Well before you get married you better master the trick of making your partner want it any time you wish for it....if you don't learn it before marriage it will only get worse as it ultimately leads to nagging, fighting and cheating on your hubby.

4. Don't get me Wrong on this, OK! Do sex before marriage: This is so so necessary because if you fail to learn the rudiments of love making not sex, before marriage. don't be suprise you may become a baby making machine for your oga o LOL...personally i will suggest 3 some to both guys and ladies before marriage as this gives more insight in the sense that the 3 involved have different sex orientation and tend to bring some sort of live into it once he/she notice what the other person involved is doing. Finally when you get married you may want to try watching adult movies with your partner at times but please don't make it an habit...clears throat no be me talk all this things o ehen before i get trolled let me gerarahere mehn shocked grin....visit www.duketundesblog.com
Foreign AffairsRe: Meet The African Slave Who Taught Jack Daniels Whiskey Making by duketunde(op): 8:57am On Jul 04, 2016
lol not there o, but Jack Daniel distilleries just released a documentary in centenary celebrations acknowledging the slave for passing down the technique to Daniel...plus if u look at the picture u will notice the black slave sitting alongside Daniel and other white, which is something that will never happen between blacks and whites then

OP were you there when he was teaching Jack Daniella how to make whiskey?
Foreign AffairsMeet The African Slave Who Taught Jack Daniels Whiskey Making by duketunde(op): 8:04pm On Jul 03, 2016
After 150 years, Jack Daniels has finally revealed that a slave was behind the world-famous recipe of America's most popular whisky.

Until now, the story told was that a white moonshine distiller named Dan Call had taught his young apprentice, Jasper Newton 'Jack' Daniel, how to run his Tennessee distillery.

But it appears that the brand is finally ready to embrace its controversial history after it revealed it was not Dan Call, but one of Call's slaves named Nearis Green who had passed on his distilling experience to Daniel.

'It's taken something like the anniversary for us to start to talk about ourselves,' Nelson Eddy, Jack Daniel's in-house historian, told the New York Times.

According to a 1967 biography, Jack Daniel's Legacy, Call told his slave to teach Daniel everything he knew.
'Uncle Nearest is the best whiskey maker that I know of,' Call is recorded as having said.

Slavery was brought to an end in 1865 with the ratification of the 13th Amendment.

Daniel opened his own distillery a year later where he employed two of Green's sons.

Greens inclusion may have signified that he played an important role at the Jack Daniels distillery.

Yet Nearis Green and his family were all too quick forgotten about until very recently.

Slaves once make up the majority of men working in the distilling industry and records of slave sales show that their whisky making skills were highly prized.

Historians also believe that certain methods used to create American whiskies, not found in German or British traditions, may have come from ancient African techniques passed down through the generations.

But, like so much else appropriated from enslaved African Americans - from recipes to traditions, the distillery owners would take credit for their slaves' whisky.

Foreign AffairsDisney Life-size Noah's Ark To Open In Kentucky On July 7 by duketunde(op): 7:54pm On Jul 02, 2016
Life-size replica of the Biblical Noah's Ark has been built in Williamstown, Kentucky. The Ark sits 30 miles south of Cincinnati in Northern Kentucky's scenic river region.

The new Ark is a centerpiece called Ark Encounter, a theme park set to open to the public on July 7 is a faithful reconstruction of the world's most famous Biblical lifeboat.

Measuring 510 feet in length - or 300 cubits, as specified in the Bible - the vessel rising in Williamstown will be nearly as long as three Space Shuttles laid end to end and cover some 120,000 square feet. By comparison, the White House is 55,000 square feet.

The ark, described by its builders at the biggest timber-frame structure in the U.S., will also come stocked with hundreds of sculpted creatures in reference to the belief that God instructed Noah to bring along "two of every kind" of animal. A petting zoo with live animals is also in the works, while future phases of the project call for building the kind of antediluvian city Noah's family might have lived in, as well as the Tower of Babel.

PoliticsTips To Survive Economic Recession In Nigeria Today by duketunde(op): 9:40am On Jul 02, 2016
Desperate times they say calls for desperate measures, the time for you to put on your thinking cap is now, For no one foresaw the economic state of the country today after the change we so desperately sought in the country was handed down to us. We were quick to forget that our value system has become so warped and clung to a wishful clandestine plot of the government to transform our economy miraculously.

We believed the rigour with which the new government fought the state of corruption in the state would also cause drastic developments in all areas, choosing to believe that price of fuel will drop to a mere 10 naira per litre, trusting that there will be uninterrupted power supply and that graduates no longer had to wait several years to get a suitable job.
We chose to believe things couldn’t be so bad, since we were considered the largest economy in Africa, an oil rich country, the purported giant of Africa, but alas, the cost of living has skyrocketed in recent times, the fuel queues wouldn’t disappear, there was no hope in getting PHCN to turn on power for at least 20 mins in a week, the heat emanating from the sun rays has become unbearable, well-paying jobs have become scarce and the foreign exchange rate has become heartbreakingly high.
Rather than rely solely on the government for the change we so need, I believe healthy scepticism is very necessary for survival.
Hence, our survival instinct has to kick in. Here are a few tips on how to survive in the face of the economic instability plaguing our beloved country:

1. Minimize or stop foreign purchase for now:
I know this is no easy feat, but you have to buy Nigerian to grow the naira. The consolation here though is that our indigenous fashion designer for instance are doing a tremendous job right now. You can get your fashion apparels from stores like ShopMajuor the 5k store. Get your household items, appliances or accessories from online stores in Nigeria. Stick to Jumia online store right now, to avoid the overbearing cost of importation.

2. Start a business to address unemployment:
If you already have a job, please do everything you can to keep it, as times are hard. However, if you are currently unemployed, the best way to tackle unemployment is through personal empowerment. Entrepreneurship is key, start something today. Even if it’s a small trading business, monetizing your writing, event coordination or planning, get something done.
Tap into the various industries at your disposal, Lagosian love to party, get into a catering business, start small but who knows, you could probably end up catering to bigger events or even be hired as an interior decorator in the homes of some affluent people living in the upscale residential areas of Lekki or Victoria Island.

3. Use cheap hotels only:
If you have to travel round the country, avoid staying in luxury hotels in Nigeria for now. If you need a place to stay close to the airport, stick to cheap hotels in Ikeja.
The hotels in Lagos and Abuja are considered to be on the high end of the cost spectrum but you can get affordable accommodations online through Jumia Travel, Africa’s no 1 hotel booking portal. You are assured of great deals and amazing discounts on all hotel across the country.

4. Fight the heat:
To protect yourself from the health consequences of the heat wave, stick to wearing light and loosely fitted clothing, drink plenty of water, use a deodorant spray and wear sunglasses.5. Maintain the Nigerian sense of humor:While we continue to struggle with the seemingly unabating economic hardship, our will to survive should be the greatest resolve. We must ensure that we retain the Nigerian sense of humor, for which we are well known. Humour is a sure way to cope with all the hassle and it lifts all the pressure off us.

Foreign AffairsWife Of US Lowest-paid Governor Takes Waitressing Job by duketunde(op): 1:41pm On Jun 26, 2016
The wife of Maine Republican Governor, Ann LePage got a waitressing job a few weeks ago to "supplement" her husband's $70,000 per year salary, the lowest of any U.S. governor. The Governor Paul LePage made this known at a recent town hall in Maine.
The LePages live with their dog, in the Augusta governor's mansion and bought a $215,000 Boothbay home two years ago. The governor recently tried but failed to increase his successor's salary to $150,000 per year, above the nearly $135,000 average for all 50 state governors in 2015.

Ann LePage said being a waitress is something she had "always always wanted to do."

LePage said she spent years taking care of her mother, who long suffered from scleroderma and passed away in October.

She said, it's not time to follow through on her interest, LePage said, adding: "I know she'd be proud of me."

LePage, who's saving up for a Toyota RAV4, works three days a week, and is asking for more shifts at work in order to make more money.
She said:

ProgrammingGoogle And Udacity Launches Android Nanodegree To Teach Coding by duketunde(op): 8:46am On Jun 25, 2016
Dream of building your own Android apps? Then this is for you...Google and Udacity have partnered up to introduce a new course that will teach you the basics of coding for Android.

The course is called the Android Basics Nanodegree, and is targeted specifically at those who have little or no programming know-how. Points covered include Java, web APIs, SQLite databases, and so on. Of course, apart from that the course will lay the groundwork for building an actual app.

Unfortunately for the bedroom programmers out
there the course isn’t free. To the contrary, it costs a cool $200 per month, however it does feature courses from “Google experts” who will also take part in mentoring and coaching participants in the program.

Specifically, the course will cover things like app layouts, multi-screen apps, object-oriented programming, app internet connectivity, and so on. The course in total requires 165 hours of time, or around 5.5 hours per day for a month. Of course, you don’t have to do it in a month’s time — you could do an hour per day for 165 days if you want, however it will obviously end up costing more.

Udacity was founded back in 2011, and is one of a number of companies offering large-scale online courses open to an unlimited number of people. It’s a substantial business, and one that has raised over $160 million in venture-capital funding.

This isn’t the first time that Udacity has partnered with Google either. For a few years now it has offered courses in cloud basics, web performance, and related subjects. The two companies also offered a tech entrepreneur nanodegree and a deep learning nanodegree. To encourage people to sign up, Google has promised to give the first 50 graduates of the Android Basics Nanodegree scholarships to the next step up — the Android Developer Nanodegree.

Foreign AffairsBrexit: U.S. And U.K. ‘special Relationship’ Won’t Change - Obama by duketunde(op):
President Obama today while speaking at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Sillicon Valley, weighed in on the recent “Brexit” vote in the United Kingdom to leave the European Union saying, "One thing that will not change is the special relationship between our two countries".

During remarks that the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit, Obama said he had recently spoken to British Prime Minister David Cameron, a strong supporter of remaining in the E.U., who said he would resign by the end of the year in the wake of the Brexit vote. Obama called Cameron an “outstanding friend and partner” and said he is confident the United Kingdom is “committed to an orderly transition out of the European Union.”

President Obama said the vote on Thursday was an indication of the “ongoing changes and challenges raised by globalization,” but the president said the vote will not have an impact on the U.S.’s relationship with the U.K..............

“One thing that will not change is the special relationship between our two countries,” Obama said Friday, adding that the U.K.’s membership in NATO was also important.

The President, who also supported Britain remaining part of the E.U., has previously implied that America would be slow to sign a free trade agreement with the U.K. should it vote in favor of leaving the union.

“There might be a U.K.-U.S. trade agreement, but it’s not going to happen anytime soon,” Obama said in April, referring to a possible Brexit, adding that the U.K. would be pushed to the “back of the queue” on trade.

CareerThis 5 Millionaire Traits Will Get You To The Top by duketunde(op): 1:39pm On Jun 20, 2016
Ninety percent of wealthy and successful individuals in todays world are not in the traditional, high-paying, 9-5 jobs. The millionaires and wealthy people in today's world are the self-employed, ambitious, savvy business entrepreneurs willing to take risks.

While millionaires may vary greatly when it comes to their backgrounds and their resumes, they all share a few key traits. If you want to start your own journey to becoming a millionaire, it is a good idea to pick up some of these traits, and make them part of your everyday routine. You may just find yourself on your way to millionaire status faster than you thought.

1. Read non-fiction instead of fiction.
Reading fiction is fun, but if you really want to make the most of your time, one of the best things you can do is become an avid non-fiction reader. Learning about the world is far more useful than entertaining yourself with the latest murder mystery. There are so many fantastic books out there designed to educate readers, and provide them with valuable insights into the world. See more at http://www.duketundesblog.com/2016/06/this-5-millionaire-traits-will-get-you.html
Pick up a variety of non-fiction topics -- from financial guidance books, to books on investing, eating right or motivating yourself to reach your goals. There is no end to the different works out there, and each one can help you understand the world better. You become slightly more accomplished and successful with every page you turn. Look for free resources like these how-to guides from Entrepreneur and this how-to guide I wrote.
2. Researching new technologies.
If you want to be a millionaire, you need to stay ahead of your competition. This means knowing what new technologies are available and understanding the advancements that can help you with all of your professional endeavors. Read all major websites and focus on the news, particularly on the latest technology and medical breakthroughs. You never know when this insight may help you in the future.
3. Understand that learning only about your industry is not enough.
If you want to be a true expert in your niche -- the type of expert who earns millions of dollars -- then you need to know your industry inside and out. But remember, this alone is not enough.
If you really want to be like today’s most successful millionaires, then you need to look outside your own industry to learn about other markets as well. You must be able to blend information and insights from a variety of industries in order to truly have that edge you need to succeed.
4. Make sure money isn’t your only goal.
Today’s most profitable individuals are not those who set out on a career just to make money. If you want to make millions, then you need to have goals that are bigger than just making a million dollars. You need to have real passion behind your business if you want to be successful.
You need to create great products and services, and create a business model that will actually help you do good while providing a valuable service to the public. Have passion for what you are doing as you find a way to help others -- and charge money for it.
5. Make time to go the extra mile.
If there is one thing that all millionaires do in order to earn their fortune, it is working when others aren’t. One of the biggest keys to success is to wake up early or stay up late to work more, study more and do those little extra things that can really make all of the difference between you and your competition. The most successful millionaires today are those who are not afraid to give up their nights and weekends to study and work.
If you really focus and start to master these traits, you can start training yourself to think and act like a millionaire, putting yourself in the perfect position to finally reach those financial goals you have for yourself.

Foreign AffairsApproximately 50 Dead Inside Florida Nightclub After Mass Shooting (Updated) by duketunde(op):
Approximately 20 people are dead inside Pulse, a gay nightclub, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said Sunday morning, just hours after a shooter opened fire in the club. At least 42 people have been transported for medical treatment, he said.

Police have shot and killed the gunman, Mina told reporters.
"It's appears he was organized and well-prepared," the chief said, adding that the shooter had an assault-type weapon, a handgun and "some type of (other) device on him."
At least nine officers were involved in the shootout, Mina said. Several coroner vans were seen traveling toward the nightclub.
One officer suffered an eye injury when a bullet struck his Kevlar helmet, said Danny Banks, special agent in charge of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Orlando bureau. The helmet saved the officer's life, Banks said.
The shooter is not from the Orlando area, Mina said.
Orlando authorities said they consider the violence an act of domestic terror. The FBI is involved. While investigators are exploring all angles, they "have suggestions the individual has leanings towards (Islamic terrorism), but right now we can't say definitely," said Ron Hopper, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI's Orlando bureau. PhonesAndroid: Typing Made Easy With One-handed Mode In Google Keyboard by duketunde(op): 2:18pm On Jun 12, 2016
Now users with smartphones with screens measuring over 5 inches can smile as Android launches one handed-mode in Google keyboards. Before now users often find it difficult to use their devices with just one hand, especially if typing is involved. Unless you have unusually long thumbs (or you're a superhero who masters elasticity), it can be pretty uncomfortable to type something with one hand on a large screen.

Though there are various third-party keyboards that also have one-handed modes, but Google Keyboard comes pre-installed on may devices, and lots of users are relying on it.

Thanks to an update rolled out last month, Google Keyboard for Android now features a one-handed mode. It's very easy to enable this: when the keyboard is open, long-press the comma key to enable one-handed mode for the left hand, or long-press the emoji key to enable it for the right hand. You'll notice that, when one-handed mode is active, you can seamlessly switch between left and right hands, and you can also go back to the regular keyboard layout.

if you don't have Google Keyboard installed on your smartphone, this can be downloaded for free from Google Play

CrimePhoto: Medical Doctor Turned Armed Robber Arrested In Anambra State by duketunde(op): 1:39pm On Jun 12, 2016
45 year old Richard Macaulay Obafemi, a medical doctor who trained at the University College London, has been arrested for Armed robbery by the Anambra state police command.

According to The Sun, Richard had his primary and secondary school education at Ipaja, Lagos State before proceeding to the University College London, UCL, where he obtained a degree in Microbiology in 1987 and later studied medicine at University Colege London UCL, from 1987-1992.

In 1993, he did the housemanship in Hatsfield, London. In 1996, Obafemi who is an indigene of Ogun state, came to Nigeria for the National Youth Service Corps Scheme and was posted to Kwara State. At the end of the service year, Obafemi took up appointment with the College of Medicine, University of Benin, where he worked for two years from 1998 to 2000, before travelling to Saudi Arabia. He thereafter got another job offer at the University of Ghana in 2006 and worked there till 2015 when he decided to visit Nigeria.
“In 2015, I came to Nigeria and visited Kaduna State. During that trip, a car I was driving had an accident and the victim died. I was charged to court and remanded at Kaduna Central Prison. But I was later released from prison on April 8, 2016". While in prison, Obafemi developed a relationship WITH two other inmates, Stephen and Ifeanyi who were professional car snatchers and armed robbers. When he left prison, he met with these men who had also regained freedom and they convinced him to join their business. “After I left prison, I had followed Ifeanyi to Asaba and joined their gang, which specialized in snatching cars. We have stolen cars like Lexus, SUV in Lagos State, which I drove to Katsina State to sell to buyers from Niger Republic. I sold one for N450,000. I didn’t go back to University of Ghana because when I was in prison in Kaduna, I didn’t communicate with them. When I came out from prison, I found out that there was no going back. I decided to join the armed robbery gang to earn a living. I am married and blessed with three children. I lost my wife, Mary in 2012 while my three children are in Canada.”
Luck however ran out on them when the Anambra state police arrested an alleged member of their gang, Vincent, in Onitsha who revealed information to the police. Investigations by the police led to the arrest of Obafemi on May 17th at a hotel in Anambra.

The police will charge him and his accomplices to court soon.

Ladipodeal:
What's intelligent about the question. The Op should be intelligent enough to browse the net to check the status of the plant as well.
The plant relied on local source of tomatoes as raw materials. They have guaranteed price above the market rate to farmers as well so as to encourage more people into tomato farming.
