The world's third largest social network "Twitter" is transforming the way you use their social network. Twitter which could be described as a religion announced today Tuesday, May 24, 2016 that the 140-character and rich canvas for creative expression will be simplified in the coming months so that you'll be able to do even more. See what the company shared on their official blog page below: "So, you can already do a lot in a Tweet, but we want you to be able to do even more. In the coming months we’ll make changes to simplify Tweets including what counts toward your 140 characters, so for instance, @names in replies and media attachments (like photos, GIFs, videos, and polls) will no longer “use up” valuable characters." See what is changing below: 1. Replies: When replying to a Tweet, @names will no longer count toward the 140-character count. This will make having conversations on Twitter easier and more straightforward, no more penny-pinching your words to ensure they reach the whole group. 2. Media attachments: When you add attachments like photos, GIFs, videos, polls, or Quote Tweets, that media will no longer count as characters within your Tweet. More room for words! 3. Retweet and Quote Tweet yourself: We’ll be enabling the Retweet button on your own Tweets, so you can easily Retweet or Quote Tweet yourself when you want to share a new reflection or feel like a really good one went unnoticed. 4. Goodbye, .@: These changes will help simplify the rules around Tweets that start with a username. New Tweets that begin with a username will reach all your followers. (That means you’ll no longer have to use the ”.@” convention, which people currently use to broadcast Tweets broadly.) If you want a reply to be seen by all your followers, you will be able to Retweet it to signal that you intend for it to be viewed more broadly. These updates will be available over the coming months. Today, we’re notifying you and our developers, so that everything works as it should when we roll these changes out. The updates have a significant impact on Tweets, so we want to provide our developer partners with time to make any needed updates to the hundreds of thousands of products built using Twitter’s API. It’s no surprise that this action-adventure game which was highly anticipated is breaking all record. The original release date was changed for development purposes, and many took the fact that they had to wait as a painful blow. The fact that Uncharted 4 has sold more than 2.7 million units in its first week is a record. According to Polygon, that makes it the fastest-selling first-party PlayStation 4 game ever. This is huge, given that there are so many titles on PlayStation 4 that could easily be considered a contender for such a spot. If you’re unfamiliar with Uncharted 4, the game is an epic tale of family, trust, and everything that could get in-between. The game is set three years after Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Nathan Drake, the main protagonist in the series, is on the hunt to uncover historical mysteries. A treasure hunter with cunning and a mouth that gets him in trouble, he comes across many allies and enemies who assist and hinder progress along the way. Naughty Dog, the developer behind Drake and his adventures, has made it easy for fans new and old to get the complete experience. Players can purchase Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, which contains the Uncharted games that came before Uncharted 4. It’s even bundled with a PlayStation 4, giving even more accessibility for players to catch up and jump on the hype train. “A huge congratulations goes out to Naughty Dog for an incredible feat. The success of the game is a testament to the caliber of the team at Naughty Dog and their unwavering commitment to their fans,” PlayStation Blog wrote. The sales that Uncharted 4 have acquired are worldwide. These numbers reflect the copies that have been sold both physically and digitally. If that doesn’t give you a sense of Naughty Dog’s accomplishment, then consider this: current sales figures only include those made through May 16. Uncharted 4 was released on May 10, making it an extremely impressive feat for such a short amount of time. The single-player campaign for Uncharted 4 is lengthy, and there’s also the multiplayer aspect to consider when thinking about picking up the game. There are multiple modes such as Team Deathmatch, Command, and Plunder. While they don’t shy far from your average range of objectives, it’s a nice change of pace if games such as Call of Duty aren’t satisfactory. Even as data revealed that "Nigeria" Africa's biggest economy is in danger of a recession. Nigerian stocks today entered a bull market (a market in which share prices are rising, encouraging buying) as investors bought equities in anticipation of a currency devaluation that would boost share prices. According to Bloomberg, The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index closed at 27,129.41 on Friday, more than 20 percent above a three-year-low in mid-January. The measure fell for the first time in four days on Monday, dropping 0.6 percent to 26,978.6 by 12:21 p.m. in Lagos, remaining in bull-market territory. The bourse has gained 7.7 percent this month, compared with a 6 percent loss for the MSCI Emerging Markets Index, after President Muhammadu Buhari signed a record budget in early May to stimulate Africa’s biggest economy and officials hinted at a devaluation, according to Chapel Hill Denham Securities Ltd. On Friday, after the market closed, data showed that Nigeria’s economy contracted in the first quarter for the first time since 2004, surprising analysts in a Bloomberg survey. “Nobody really expected a contraction,” Tajudeen Ibrahim, head of equity research at Chapel Hill, said by phone from Lagos. “It came as a shock and the market’s responding to that” on Monday, he said. “Beforehand, local investors were responding positively to news of the budget and in anticipation that there would be a move on the currency.” The Abuja-based central bank’s Monetary Policy Committee will make its next decision on interest rates on Tuesday afternoon. Despite the weak economy, inflation at around a six-year high of 13.7 percent will force it to raise the policy rate of 12 percent by between 50 and 250 basis Read more at http://www.duketundesblog.com/2016/05/breaking-news-nigerias-stocks-enter.html#4fJsz2OxgRqtWh1O.99

Worried about what you have to pay for data monthly, here are a few simple tweaks of some system settings and apps to minimize unnecessary data use. 1. Restrict background data With this simple tweak you stop apps from doing things like checking your email or refreshing a social network feed when your device is locked. You can disable background data by opening Settings > Data Usage > Tap on the menu button > Restrict background data > OK. Once this feature is enabled, most apps will only use data when you're actively using your phone or when you're connected to a Wi-Fi network. In some instances, you'll need to be both using the device and connected to a Wi-Fi network. The Data Usage settings pane is also where you can set your billing cycle, and then add alerts when your mobile data usage hits a a specific threshold. Additionally you can view how much data each app is using in this same Settings pane and remove or change usage habits based on usage patterns. 2. Save music and videos offline It's best to download content and store it on your Android device. Music is an obvious opportunity to cut down on streaming data, as is TV shows and movies in Amazon's Prime Video app (Netflix needs to add this feature, ASAP!). Google Maps' ability to download sections of a map for offline navigation will also help on reducing data usage, although Google Maps will still use data (unless you enable airplane mode when driving) to gather information such as traffic reports. 3. Enable Chrome Data saver Google's Chrome browser features a data saver feature that takes two seconds to activate. Once turned on, Chrome will reduce the overall size of images and websites viewed on your mobile device. Enable it by opening Chrome, then going to Settings > Data Saver. Slide the switch to the On position. Over time, a chart will populate detailing how much data you've saved. 4. Manage Synced services When you add a Google account to your Android device, it begins syncing various services also linked to your Google account. For example, Google Keep and Google Fit are both enabled in sync after adding a Google account. You can limit which services sync by opening the Settings app, going to Accounts and selecting your Google account. Go through the list of synced services on your device, and disable anything you don't use. Don't use Google Play Newsstand? Turn it off. What about News and Weather? No? Turn it off. Granted, these services likely to don't eat too much into your data plan but every little bit helps. While you're at it, go through the various accounts added to your device and make sure your sync settings reflect your actual usage. 5. Set streaming quality to Medium or Low. By now you should know that video streaming takes a toll on your data. Netflix, Google Play Music, Snapchat each offer an option to reduce mobile data usage. Unless you're a stickler for audio or video quality, enabling the lowest quality setting in a music or video app will likely go unnoticed. Travel Mode in Snapchat doesn't reduce the overall quality, but it does stop the app from preloading stories and other content within the app. The option to restrict preloading content or lower the overall streaming quality isn't limited to these three apps; make sure to look through the Settings section of apps like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for similar options. - See more at: http://www.duketundesblog.com/2016/05/5-ways-to-reduce-data-usage-on-android.html#sthash.mW3BYuCR.dpuf

Tech giant Google on Wednesday released the Public beta version of Android N (If you miss it read it here). The upcoming mobile OS that promises to add multiwindow support, direct reply from notifications and more. If you're interested in installing the beta version on your device, you will be required to join the Android Beta Program. Though the beta version is only supported by Google device, So here i will be laying emphasis on Nexus device. Once you sign up for the program, your Nexus device will receive Android N updates via the normal software update process over-the-air, saving you valuable time and frustration should you have no idea where to begin with flashing images to your beloved Android device. Before you install it (Warning). This is a note of warning before you proceed to install the OS on your device. Signing up is easy alright but the only way to revert back to a stable build of Android Marshmallow is to completely wipe your device, removing any and all personal information from it. Google has said that the Android N beta is stable enough for everyday devices, but it is by no means perfect, and you may still run into bugs and other problems. Installing Android N isn't a permanent decision; however you should be prepared to set up your device as brand-new should you want to go back. Okey dokey, with that out of the way, here's how to sign up: 1. You must own a recent Nexus device to take part. The complete list includes the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Pixel C tablet, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. 2. Visit the Android Beta Program page and sign into the same Google account you use on your Nexus. 3. There you'll fine a list of eligible devices. Click on Enroll Device next to the device you want to install Android N on. 4. Accept the terms -- and the stern warning about reverting back to Android Marshmallow -- then click Join Beta. A few minutes later, the freshly enrolled device will prompt you to install an Android system update. It can take up to 24 hours for the update to reach your device according to Google, but in my testing I was prompted in less than a minute after joining on two different devices. Other things you need to put into considerations is to have your charger handy, a good WiFi connection as the updates is over 1 gigabyte. Meet this 48-year-old genius from New Zealand who has been called "the Tiger Woods of Scrabble". Nigel Richards has just won the francophone world Scrabble championships after reportedly memorising the entire French Scrabble dictionary in just nine weeks. His command of the language of Molière, as the French like to call it, stretches to “bonjour” and being able to count. “He doesn’t speak French at all – he just learned the words,” his close friend Liz Fagerlund told the New Zealand Herald. “He won’t know what they mean, wouldn’t be able to carry out a conversation in French, I wouldn’t think.” Richards, who has won the English world Scrabble championships three times, the US national championships five times and the UK Open six times, beat a rival from French-speaking Gabon in the final held at Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium on Monday. During the match, which he won by two games to nil, he even successfully challenged his rival Schélick Ilagou Rékawé’s use of a form of the verb “fureter” (to snoop). He was given a standing ovation by the mainly French-speaking crowd. Richards, whose other great passion is cycling, wasn’t introduced to the game until he was 28, persuaded by his mother. “I said, ‘I know a game you’re not going to be very good at, because you can’t spell very well and you weren’t very good at English at school’,” she said. He showed an immediate talent, however, winning the New Zealand national championships. In 2000 he moved to Malaysia, and now represents the country in international competition. With his long beard, spectacles and intense gaze, the reclusive competitor cuts an enigmatic figure hunched over his letter tiles. “Without a doubt he’s the greatest player in our sport, ever,” said New Zealand’s national Scrabble representative Howard Warner. Warner believes Richards’s exceptional abilities stem from a photographic memory and rare mathematical skill. At the very elite level, Scrabble skills rely more on an ability to calculate mathematical probabilities than on linguistic facility. - See more at: http://www.duketundesblog.com/2016/05/meet-french-scrabble-champion-who.html#sthash.mgrn1qo8.dpuf

If you're a BIG fan of Google apps and its other products but use iPhone but you've always wanted Google apps on your iPhone, Well here i have some good news as Google had announced at the I/O conference that a handful of their apps and products will work with your iPhone when they come out later this year. Here's a list of new Google apps and products will work with your iPhone: 1. Duo You're an iPhone owner, so you know what Facetime is -- and that's basically Duo. Duo is a standalone video-chatting app that you'll be able to download for iOS later this year. Why would you want it if you have Facetime? For one, you'll be able to video-chat with anyone who has the app (not just iOS users). Google also promised that, even if your connection is spotty, the call won't drop. (I'm looking at you, Skype.) But the biggest difference is a creepy little feature called Knock Knock. When someone calls you with Duo, you'll be able to see their video feed even before you answer the call. If Knock Knock is designed to make me less likely to ignore my parents' calls, it'll work. You win, Google. 2. Allo If Snapchat, Facebook Messenger and OK Google had a baby, Allo would be it. The messaging app will be available for iOS, so you can send disappearing messages while booking dinner reservations with your friends, no matter what device they're on. The app does a lot, so if I end up downloading it, it's likely something I'd use instead of -- not in addition to -- Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. Now all I have to do is get my friends on board. 3. Android Wear Android Wear -- Google's operating system for smartwatches -- got a huge upgrade. Watches running the new software will be able to function without being connected to a phone. And it'll work for Android watches paired with an iPhone, too. That means you can do things like play music, make calls, track your fitness, and send messages when you leave your phone behind. It works by having the watch connect to Wi-Fi independently and downloading apps to the watch itself, instead of relying on your phone's connection. The Apple Watch has seen some success, but there are a few things that are hard to get past -- the lack of design options (where's my round Apple Watch?), the cluttered interface, and its lagginess. Android Wear's better support for iOS is very much welcome. 4. Google Home If you've ever used OK, Google, you know how fast and helpful the personal assistant is. Today Google announced it's building that assistant into a hub called Google Home, and if you have an iPhone, you'll likely be able to enjoy most of its features, too. Since Google's voice assistant -- Google Now -- already works with iPhone, commands like playing music and controlling smart-home devices should work no matter what device you have. Google hasn't yet detailed its iPhone compatibility plans, but it's likely that phone-dependent commands -- like sending text messages and making calls -- will work only with Android. That is, unless you're using Allo or Duo. - See more at: http://www.duketundesblog.com/2016/05/4-new-google-appsproducts-that-will.html#sthash.kk9wslIt.dpuf

Meet the all new Android N operating system unveiled by Google at the opening event of the I/O conference. The new operating system features which are too numerous to list, but Google promises the operating system will provide better performance, enhanced security, streamlined notifications, and most importantly, 72 new emojis. Thought Android N is still in beta version right now, it's possible to try and have a look but the full version will be released to everyone this summer. Unfortunately, if you want to try the beta, you'll need a Google device. The only devices eligible for the test are the Nexus 5X and 6P smartphones, the Nexus 7, 9 and Pixel C tablets, and the Nexus Player media player. If you've got one of these devices, you can go to the Android Beta Programme website, log in to your Google account, and download and install the beta to your phone. CAUTION: Beta version of softwares are pretty unstable and unpredictable than the final versions, So testing out the beta version may result in unstable and constant crashing of your device. Another issue is, if you decide to opt out of the beta and go back to the version you had before, all your data will be wiped - so make sure you back up your phone first. If there are problems, they should be fixed quickly. Google says the beta will be updated every four to six weeks until the official launch, and there'll be a healthy community of other beta users to get tips from online. Alphabet Incorporated, the parent company of Google today at its Silicon Valley headquarters unveiled a new mobile messaging application Wednesday called Allo containing a digital personal assistant, based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology that powers other Google services like Inbox. At its I/O developer conference near its Silicon Valley headquarters, the company also showed off a voice-based search device called Google Home that uses the same assistant technology to answer questions when people are in their houses, a potentially potent rival to Amazon.com Inc.’s popular Echo gadget. Google Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai said the goal is to develop an “on-going two-way dialog with Google” and build billions of people their own “individual Google.” The CEO sees the Google digital assistant as an “ambient experience that extends across devices.” Google became one of the world’s most valuable companies by making a search engine that sucks in billions of queries people type into web browsers on PCs and phones. Google sells ads based those indications of intent and desire. But that search advertising money machine is at risk as computing evolves and gives people new ways to find what they want -- and new avenues for competing companies to satisfy those wants. The new products unveiled Wednesday -- and future ones using the same Google AI technology -- give the company a chance to keep its search engine relevant in an era of new, connected devices. Conversational interface With the future of search -- and intent-based advertising -- up for grabs again, AI has become a big strategic area of investment for many technology companies. The bet is that whoever makes the most engaging and useful digital personal assistant, also known as the conversational interface, will control the layer between a person and their digital life, and collect the most revenue and profit from being that privileged broker. Google has been working on artificial intelligence -- technology that lets computers teach themselves about the world -- for more than 15 years. The company hopes this expertise can help it build conversational computing products that beat the competition. "It’s absolutely strategic," said Scott Huffman, a vice president of engineering for search. "If you think about this simple idea of having a conversation, that is the interface that all the people around you have." Google hopes that if it makes it easier for people to access its services, they’ll use them more. That’s a pattern it has seen with other technology initiatives. "Every time we’ve had an improvement in voice recognition we see a corresponding jump in usage," Huffman said. Conversational computing is a crowded field. Amazon’s Echo, which has been a bestseller for the company, lets people use their voice rather than type to search for things and order them from Amazon’s online store and play music through Amazon-owned services, cutting out Google. Microsoft Corp.’s Cortana AI assistant embedded in Windows 10 lets people ask questions that the company answers via its Bing search engine. Facebook Inc.’s digital assistant, M, uses some AI to let people get answers to questions and perform actions such as ordering flowers, and its recently unveiled chatbot platform gives companies a way to chat directly with consumers, no Googling required. Allo Google Over time, Google said it will develop other products and services using the same digital assistant, which will stay with people across devices, and remember their habits, Huffman said. That will let Google’s search and other services follow people from smartphones and smart watches into their car and homes. Google plans to add more AI capabilities to its assistant, some of which won’t necessarily appear in its main search engine, Huffman said. The company’s Allo messaging app will come out this summer. It will suggest responses to messages by reading and understanding people’s text conversations. A contact named "@google" can be summoned by users to provide AI-powered services, like finding restaurants and booking tables, or searching for movies. The AI in Allo is based on technology already deployed in Google’s Inbox program, which reads through e-mails and suggests appropriate replies. It also understands images sent in text messages, using its AI to look at what is in the picture and suggest its own comments. The more people use Allo the better the AI will get. The system works by converting words and images into sequences of numbers explicable to Google’s machine intelligence, letting it develop intuition so it can guess the word "dog" is semantically similar to puppy, or that the appropriate response to a picture of someone skydiving is "brave." In a recent demo, Erik Kay, a Google director of engineering for communications products, took a photo of colleague Amit Fulay, who posed with an exaggerated grin. Kay texted the photo to Amit using Allo, and on Amit’s phone the AI studied the photo, noticed the grin and came up with the response "sunny smile :-)". These kinds of automated responses are meant to give people a more satisfying conversation, but has the additional benefit of generating more data for Google to use to further develop its AI. Have you been wondering what could be causing the present scarcity of tomatoes in the market in Nigeria, even though our dear country grows 1.5 million tonnes of tomatoes every year, making her the 14th biggest producer in the world. Well this is what you need to know about the current situation of tomatoes scarcity. "Tuta absoluta" it is...I found this on the timeline of a fine Nigerian medical Doctor who resides in the UK and with a little research this is what i was able to come up with. "Tuta absoluta is a species of moth in family Gelechiidae known by the common names tomato leafminer and South American tomato moth. It is well known as a serious pest of tomato crops in Europe and South America." The larva feeds voraciously upon tomato plants, producing large galleries in leaves, burrowing in stalks, and consuming apical buds and green and ripe fruits. It is capable of causing a yield loss of 100%. Tomato is the main host plant, but T. absoluta also attacks other crop plants of the nightshade family, including potato, eggplant, pepino and tobacco. It is known from many solanaceous weeds, including Datura stramonium, Lycium chilense, and Solanum nigrum. The adult moth has a wingspan around one centimeter. In favorable weather conditions eight to ten generations can occur in a single year. According to Wikipedia though the moth was first known as a tomato pest in South American countries, it was identified in Spain in 2006 and have since gone global as it has been detected in France, Italy, Greece, Malta, Morocco, Algeria, Libya and now its ravaging tomato farms in the northern parts of Nigeria. Management: It was revealed that some populations of Tuta absoluta have developed resistance to pesticide but new experiments have revealed some promising agents of biological pest control for this moth, including Nabis pseudoferus, a species of damsel bug. Our Government's reaction: Too busy with subsidy and petrol price hike to be worried about the tomato industries and its current woes. And a little wonder Billionaire business Mogul Alhaji Aliko Dangote suspended production at his processing factory barely three month after it began operations. Have you tried the Facebook Marketplace thingy? The lovely little feature by social media giant Facebook that acts somewhat like Craiglist and many other listing sites, where you post stuffs you want to sell or search for things you will love to buy. Though the service has been on as far back as 2007, but Facebook never got around to building access to it in their app. That seems to be changing, though, as users are starting to see a new Marketplace tab in the Facebook app. Many people prefer Facebook Marketplace over Craigslist due to the lack of anonymity, something that cuts down on spam and shadiness associated with most classified or listing sites. The new tweak and functionality on the Marketplace seems pretty straight forward. An explore tab lets you browse the array of goods being offered, and you can filter your results by entering a search term or changing filters like price, category, and location. Moving over to the selling tab brings up an interface that asks you what you’re selling, as well as a photo of that item. A buying time is similar, only it’s to post that you’re looking to buy a specific item. Seems Facebook is moving to corner everything internet. Thought it all looks like Facebook is doing some A/B testing on this feature as not everyone is seeing it. You can check it out - See more at: http://www.duketundesblog.com/2016/05/facebook-marketplace-tab-coming-to.html#sthash.qgm8Mx3C.dpuf

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life-think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success." Swami Vivekananda It's Monday again and another day to hit the ground running and YES make some bucks and be someone's SUCCESS story...But are you really ready to be successful? Success they say don't come easy, it comes only with hardwork and perseverance right? Well my own approach maybe a little different but similar..i believe to become successful you will have to be dedicated, work extra smart, go all out and meet people that count and don't generalize when talking about your potentials. "If you want to be rich and successful, you can't but into a story of poverty. Even though your circumstances may seem unfavorable at the moment, it doesn't mean that it will last forever. Think out of the box." Here are my 5 major steps for achieving success: 1. Be yourself. Don't make the mistake that because you're under-achieving at the moment, you then forget where you're coming from and your set goals to become XYZ who seem to be making it BIG now. Oftentimes, being too hard on yourself is the quickest way to burn out and lose hair. 2. Don't dwell on your past failure. Everyone has a life story that tells them apart from other people. Yes! your story may be of many ups and down. It's good to reflect on your broke story but never dwell on it in order to seek acceptance from other broke people. remember you're different, focus on whom you're becoming. You might not know exactly whom you'll end up as (who does?), but you can focus on telling yourself and others about who you want to become. Change your life story. 3. Study Your Desires This is the point i liked most. On a daily basis, many people indulge in copious amounts of negativity. If you tend to notice, talk about, and identify with war, crime, disease, financial problems, misfortune, or disharmony, this is what you are inviting into your life. If you study miscellaneous things, you will get miscellaneous results. What do you normally study? Many times, it's hard to realize the subtle influence that we are exposed to. However, if you want true wealth, you must identify with the state of mind that you would most likely want to associate with. In other words, focus on what you want, not what you don't want. Why dwell on financial despair when you could scheme up new ways to get the Rolls Royce you may want? 4. Forget Haters Either good or bad! People will always talk about you and hate on you. forget about the haters, because dwelling so much on that guy that hates your face will make you oblivious to real people who are trying to help. Note that, dwelling on other people’s opinions will forever prohibit you from living your life. Instead of focusing on who you don't want in your life, focus on who you do want in your life. Don't worry about what 'they' think, but take unprecedented action toward your goal. Always search for people who can help you realize your highest goals. 5. Be the Best This is where your talents, skills, and abilities speaks for you. Like i stated earlier to achieve great success you need to WORK EXTRA SMART not EXTRA HARD (Using your sixth senses) as everyday passing day present you a chance to reach your peak performance. For a lot of us we are only using a fraction of our potentials since it's not demanded in our careers. However, you have to seek a profession that allows you to become the best at what you do and try to attend professional courses, where you will meet like minds and spend money on motivational books, CDs and seminars. When it comes to performing at the highest level, you must make sure that you're focused on serving other people, not just doing it as a means to obtain money. Do have a blissful day out there - See more at: http://www.duketundesblog.com/2016/03/monday-business-kit-5-steps-for.html#sthash.RoP5gZ1T.dpuf |
This tiny origami robots is programmed to treat internal wounds and also push foreign objects mistakenly swallowed out of your body. According to statistic 3,500 people or there about swallow batteries each year. Though most people pass button cell battery with no consequence, there's still a high risk that the foreign object could get lodged in the stomach walls and react with stomach acid to produce hydroxide — and hydroxide burns through tissue. A postdoc student at Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory Shuhei Miyashita, convinced his colleague Daniela Rus that button battery retrieval and internal wound treatment were both compelling use cases for the origami robot, which they'd been working on in collaboration with other researchers from MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the University of Sheffield, and the Tokyo Institute of Technology. "Shuhei bought a piece of ham, and he put the battery on the ham," said Rus, MIT professor and CSAIL director. "Within half an hour, the battery was fully submerged in the ham. So that made me realize that, yes, this is important. If you have a battery in your body, you really want it out as soon as possible." The team's origami robot is an iteration of previous research done with the concept. However, the latest origami robot differs from its predecessor because it uses biocompatible material — and that material is dried pig intestine, the same type used as casing for sausage. Like the previous origami robot, the latest one uses a "stick slip" motion to move around the stomach after they've been ingested and have unfolded. The "stick slip" motion leverages the robot's rigidity and friction to stick to a surface, while using its flexibility to "slip" forward. The robot uses "stick slip" about 80 percent of the time it's moving forward, and propels itself through water the other 20 percent of the time, according to Miyashita. Right now, the robot is directed to its target via an external magnetic field, but that could change soon. "Next we would like to do in vivo experiments. We would also like to add sensors to the robot and redesign the robot so that it's able to control itself without the need of external magnetic field," said Rus in the video below. Do you 90% of accident on the road are caused by blow-out? You can find the right psi for your vehicle on the driver door.. Do you even know there's limit to what pressure you put in your car's tire? The pressure pumped inside tire are measure in pounds per square inch (psi)? Do you know that the maximum inflation pressure is indicated in a relatively small-sized print branded near the tire's bead (adjacent to the wheel). Many lives have been lost due to the errors of our road side Vulcanizers in Nigeria, who pumped whatever they just dim fit into our tires. Do you know the life-span of every tire is just 4 years? WHAT IS THE RIGHT PSI TO AVOID BLOW-OUT: Usually, your tire’s maximum tire pressure is somewhere between 30 and 35 PSI but here in Nigeria it seems all the road side vulcanizer's agreed pressure is 50 and sometimes 60 and that is about 70 to 75% increased psi. Again you must have heard that if your tire is pumped to the maximum it performs best and reduce fuel comsumption! yes that's very correct...so i will still recommend increasing your pressure from the FEH recommended 35psi by not more than 10% meaning 110% pressure. Here's how 1.10 x 35 = 38.5psi or max 40psi which is 14.2% increase in pressure. Read more at http://www.duketundesblog.com/2016/05/how-to-avoid-tire-blow-out-by-pumping.html#qRYcepjmR2MjRgSV.99

Could this be the way of the future? Maybe. We may soon do away with our solar chargers or powerbank for your smartphones; here’s something that could really give your green credentials a boost. This new technology called Bioo Lite uses your plants to create energy to charge your phone, fueled by photosynthesis. The plant pot draws its power from the plant as it does what plants do – giving you a USB socket that you can plug your phone into. It’s really that simple. It looks nice, it’s renewable energy and it might even save you some money on your electricity bills. - See more at: http://www.duketundesblog.com/2016/05/this-new-technology-uses-plants-to.html#sthash.CZVdQP0j.dpuf

This is a report by WHO and you will note probably so not necessarily that they analysed every city, plus Onitsha is measured based on PM10 which states that the pollution in the air coarser, though they can still be inhaled and cause health problems. But that of Zahol Iran is kinda bad as its based on PM2.5 which more dangerous IsaacBuchi: |
Wow this is another big one from social media giant FACEBOOK. Everyone love WhatsApp but in the recent past the world's most popular chat apps is only available on smartphones. But to use it on a desktop, you had to run a Web app through your browser. image: Facebook have now streamlined the process with the launch of WhatsApp on desktop that syncs with your mobile device. WhatsApp said the new desktop app, which was released Tuesday, mirrors your mobile device, allowing you to message friends and family while your phone is in your pocket. And because it runs natively on your desktop as opposed to through an app on your browser, the app allows for native notifications and better keyboard shortcuts, WhatsApp said. After downloading the app for either desktops running Windows 8 and above or Mac OS 10.9 and above, open the app and scan the QR code with your phone to sync the devices. You will be surprise to know that the world's most polluted city isn't Beijing or Delhi. According to a new report from the World Health Organization, the pollution in megacities like Beijing China, Delhi India and a host of others are actually only a tip of the iceberg and the cities with the worse case of pollution in the world is probably in Iran and Nigeria. The World's Health Organization studied air qualities of the cities and the size of particles found in the air. Generally, a lot of attention is placed upon particles of a PM2.5 size, which is around one-30th the size of a human hair. These particles are particularly worrying because they have the ability to enter lungs and blood tissue and cause serious health problems. However, you can also measure larger particles in the air. At PM10, the particles are coarser, though they can still be inhaled and cause health problems. Based on PM2.5 Zabol in Iran comes out on top and based on PM10 Nigeria's Onitsha, a city of half-a-million people on the Niger River, is atop this list. The city has been known for its rapid growth and gridlock, though some locals were apparently still surprised that it appeared so high on the list. According to TIME.COM Apple iPhone tops the list of the most influential gadgets ever made. Think of the gear you can’t live without: The smartphone you constantly check. The camera that goes with you on every vacation. The TV that serves as a portal to binge-watching and -gaming. Each owes its influence to one model that changed the course of technology for good. These are the devices recognized on the list of to 50 most influential gadgets of all time. See list below: 1. Apple iPhone image: https://2.bp..com/-Zv8hwoXBfF4/VzXpQ0tXuDI/AAAAAAAAEUM/8W-qgwAnD98Wu-T8gtPe0f-dkDJsXrXlACLcB/s400/top%2Binfluetial%2Bgadgets%2Bof%2Ball%2Btime.jpg Apple's iPhone became the first company to put a truly powerful computer in the pockets of millions when it launched the iPhone in 2007. Smartphones had technically existed for years, but none came together as accessibly and beautifully as the iPhone. Apple’s device ushered in a new era of flat, touchscreen phones with buttons that appeared on screen as you needed them, replacing the chunkier phones with slide-out keyboards and static buttons. What really made the iPhone so remarkable, however, was its software and mobile app store, introduced later. The iPhone popularized the mobile app, forever changing how we communicate, play games, shop, work, and complete many everyday tasks. The iPhone is a family of very successful products. But, more than that, it fundamentally changed our relationship to computing and information—a change likely to have repercussions for decades to come. 2. Sony Trinitron Renowned journalist Edward R. Murrow famously described television as “nothing but wires and lights in a box.” Of all such boxes, Sony’s Trinitron—launched in 1968 as color TV sales were finally taking off—stands at the fore of memorable sets, in part for its novel way of merging what to that point had been three separate electron guns. The Trinitron was the first TV receiver to win a vaunted Emmy award, and over the next quarter century, went on to sell over 100 million units worldwide. 3. Apple Macintosh Another Apple product that made the top 10...“Will Big Blue dominate the entire computer industry? The entire information age? Was George Orwell right about 1984?” That’s how Steve Jobs introduced the ad heralding the arrival of the Macintosh. With its graphical user interface, easy-to-use mouse and overall friendly appearance, the Macintosh was Apple’s best hope to take on IBM. High costs and Microsoft’s successful Windows software conspired to keep the Mac a perennial runner-up. But it forever set the standard for the way human beings interact with computers. 4. Sony Walkman Before the era of iPod i believe most of us above 30 will be very familiar with the Sony Walkman.. Sony’s Walkman was the first music player to combine portability, simplicity and affordability. While vinyl records were still the most popular music format, the Walkman—originally the “Sound-About” in the United States—played much smaller cassettes and was small enough to fit in a purse or pocket. It ushered in the phenomena of private space in public created by the isolating effect of headphones. It ran on AA batteries, allowing it to travel far from power outlets. Sony eventually sold more than 200 million of the devices, which paved the way for the CD player and the iPod.
