A G500 2002 model is no more than say 3m, when it's upgraded to 2019 G63, do you know it could cost anywhere close to 19m given fit and finish, quality?

The upgrade folks do in Nigeria is also done abroad. Cosmetic face lifting. Simple.
But power train and others, those are tuning and are done by pure autoists. These also cost very much, infact, they could even cost more than the car itself.
The Nigerian dealers and sellers who sell off upgraded cars aren't fraudulent in their motives, they only do it cos they feel certain attributes and features in face lifted models appeals more to them than the pre-facelift models. It only makes them ignorant or fraudulent when they are insisting the car being sold is actually the real facelift stock vehicle rather than the prefacelift upgraded depending on circumstance involved.

When they say upgrade, it means the exterior and the interior part of the car. No one is talking about the engine. The language for engine upgrades is tuning, taking the horse power to another level. The only thing that people see in an upgraded car is the exterior. Even if an engine is 3.0 and you tell someone that it's horse power has been upgraded to 500hp, there is no way the buyer will be able to ascertain the claims. So it is the body that we talk about. The interior of the range rover has been upgraded to look like an autobiography which was not available in 2004. Ditto the body and the rims. They are all upgraded.
