2019 Guber/HOA Election: Peter Obi Warns Against Election Violence Come Saturday



The Vice Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Mr. Peter Obi, has warned against violence and intimidation during Saturday’s Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in the country.

Mr. Obi made this remark on Thursday in Onitsha, Anambra State, where he warned against a repeat of the anomalies and electoral malpractices that he said characterized the Presidential and National Assembly elections on February 23, 2019.

“All of us, starting from the Federal Government to all Nigerians, should ensure that this election does not in any way reflect what happened on February 23 which is impacting negatively on our country.”



The former governor of Anambra State condemned the violence and killing in the South-South, as well as the alleged intimidation of Igbo people in Lagos and rigging in some parts of the North, warning that such could cause apathy during Saturday’s polls.

Osinbajo explains why Buhari will not Islamize Nigeria

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, reassured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari will not Islamize Nigeria.

One of the reasons for Buhari not to Islamize Nigeria according to the Vice President is that he himself is a “born again christian” and also the Vice President, Osinbajo explained.

Speaking during a Town Hall meeting in Aba North Local Government Area

of Abia State on Tuesday, Osinbajo disclosed that Buhari doesn’t interfere with the religions of those around him.

The Vice President also noted that Nigeria was too big for an individual to impose a religion against their wish.

“One of the reasons our members have not benefited from most of our

programmes is because the Government is not APC.

“Come Saturday by the grace of God, we shall change the present

day government and enthrone APC through Uche Sampson Ogah.

Why EFCC arrested Atiku’s finance director

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is investigating a

case of money laundering allegation up to the tune of €150 million (54,297,000,000 Naira)

against the Finance Director of Atiku Abubakar’s group of companies, Alhaji Babalele Abdullahi.

The source who craved anonymity said that the case was ongoing and that Abdullahi “may be released soon”.

Abdullahi who also is Atiku’s son-in-law, was arrested on Saturday by EFCC operatives at his Maitama residence.

NAN reports that Abubakar, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate at

the just concluded Presidential election raised an alarm over the arrest.

Dogara affirms that Vote Buying Has Left Nigerians In an ‘Unmitigated Disaster’ State

Yakubu Dogara, The Speaker of the House of Representatives, has affirmed

that vote buying has left Nigerians in a state of unmitigated disaster.

Dogara said this on Monday, during a public hearing organized by the National Assembly on improving electoral processes in Nigeria.

Dogara said that the nation’s democracy has become stagnant – a situation he believes can only change for the better if sharp practices in elections are eliminated.

US priest who was declared wanted for allegedly abusing Filipino altar boys as young as

seven, sexually, has been arrested in the Philippines and is currently facing deportation.

A 77-year-old American whose name is Kenneth Bernard Hendricks, was arrested on Wednesday in

the central island of Biliran after he served as a priest for approximately 37 years in Catholic Philippines.

According to a statement by immigration bureau spokesperson, Dana Sandoval (Mrs), he said:



“WE RECEIVED INFORMATION FROM US AUTHORITIES REGARDING

THE ALLEGED SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF MULTIPLE MINOR FILIPINO BOYS BY HENDRICKS,”
