The Founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pat Utomi, said the party he and others founded in 2013 in anticipation for the 2015 general election cannot be compared to the party in this present time. Utomi, a Delta state governorship aspirant, said he and others had hoped for a better party when they formed the APC five years ago. Confirming he was a founding member of APC, Utomi said:

International Human rights organisation, Amnesty International has lauded the directive by Nigeria’s Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo for the total overhaul of the country’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).


Yemi Osinbajo who is currently in acting capacity as the President of Nigeria gave the directive on Tuesday after prolonged public outcry against the rogue police unit.



Responding to the news, Director of Amnesty International Nigeria Osai Ojigho said: “this is an overdue yet hugely important move by Acting President Osinbajo. The growing outcry over the brutality of Nigeria’s notorious SARS police unit has finally got the attention of the country’s authorities”.

“While this is positive news, it is crucial that any overhaul of SARS is far-reaching and immediately effective. Restructuring SARS is not enough unless the government takes concrete steps to protect Nigerians.

LAGOS STATE RANKED WORLD’S THIRD WORST CITY TO LIVE IN

Lagos State has been ranked the third worst city for humans to live in the world.
This was released in the latest 2018 Global Liveability Index released by The Economist Intelligence Unit and World Bank.
Lagos ranked 138 out of the 140 cities considered for the ranking.

According to the ranking, Lagos only outperformed Dhaka in Bangladesh and Damascus in war-torn Syria.

Out of an overall score of 100, Lagos was rated 38.5 points.

The ranking was based – Social Stability, Healthcare, Education, Culture and Environment and Infrastructure.

Other African cities that featured on the index were Dakar (Senegal), which was ranked 131 out of 140; Algiers (Algeria) – 132; Doula (Cameroun) – 133; Tripoli(Libya) – 134 and Harare (Zimbabwe) – 135;

Vienna, the Austrian capital, was ranked the most liveable city in the world, as Melbourne finally lost the title after a seven-year reign. The Japanese city of Osaka was adjudged the third most liveable city.

Canada performed well as well, with Toronto tying with Tokyo for seventh position, while Calgary and Vancouver in the same country emerged fourth and sixth place respectively.

Mohammed said, “To answer your question, I think APC can only go stronger in Kwara State because what we are witnessing today is like a liberation, and from the support I have received so far, including the entire leadership of the party, led by the Chairman, Akogun Oyedepo Iyiola, who met with me and the National Chairman with 17 other leaders, including Prof. Oba Abdulraheem, Sen. S.S. Ajibola, all the three senatorial district chairmen of the PDP in the state, gives me confidence that Saraki’s days in dominating Kwara politics are limited.

Abdulwahab Abdulrahman, an ex-aide to the sacked Director General of the Department of State Services, (DSS) Lawal Daura, has accused his former boss of corruption.

He pictured him as a man who serially betrayed his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, for money.

Daura was dismissed by the acting president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday following unlawful invasion of the National Assembly by men of of the security agency.

Abdulrahman, who retired as a senior DSS official, claimed that Daura also betrayed Buhari by serving as a mole for Bukola Saraki, the Senate President.

“He will go and get information on plans for (Senate president) Bukola (Saraki) and then leak it to him,” News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, quoted the ex-aide as saying in an interview.

The former aide of Daura said he quit the agency in 2016 because of the scale of corruption and abuse there.

Daura, led Nigeria’s domestic spy agency since 2015, was abruptly fired, on Tuesday, by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo after he ordered a blockade of the National Assembly.

Abdulrahman added that President Buhari never knew Daura until he was introduced to him by the late Sen. Mustapha Bukar in 2015. He then disclosed how Daura warmed his way into the heart of President Buhari’s cousin, Mamman Daura.

Police Report DSS probe to Osinbajo, makes shocking revelations [See letter]

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has submitted a report on Tuesday’s siege at the national Assembly to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.


The report was obtained by DAILY POST Thursday night.

The IGP indicted the sacked Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura.

The presidency has since replaced him with Matthew Seiyefa. the most senior director in the agency.

According to the IGP, Daura acted alone and never consulted other security agencies.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday arrested a former DSS DG, Ita Ekpenyong.


He was reportedly arrested in connection with alleged N17billion fraud in the agency.

The arrest was said to be part of an ongoing probe of the sacked DG, Daura.

It was gathered that two ex-DSS chiefs could not account for the cash in the last three years.

Earlier in the day, operatives surrounded Ekpeyong's house located in Asokoro, Abuja.
