Yes I got my green card June 2021.
Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, Section 328, special provisions apply to those who serve in the U.S. military (active duty, reserves or National Guard) that allow them to file for naturalization based on their current or prior U.S. military service.

Had my green card interview last week at New Orleans field office. It was just a mere conversation & no trivial question was asked.

My case has not been updated yet. Still on “Interview was scheduled”

Although, the interviewer told us if she needs anything, she will definitely mail us.
Quite unusual with the delay but I’m hopeful it will come through.

My GC was approved yesterday.

Hello everyone, I want to give update on my journey so far. It was really a long depressing journey.

RD I-765, I-485 September 12th 2019

BIO October 22th 2019

RFE Nov 12th 2019 for long birthday certificate and recent tax.

RD for RFE December 13th 2019

I called last of the week in February 2020, I can't remember the day precisely to expedite my case.

Expedite request received and evidence request was sent to me.

On the 6th of March 2020, I submitted my evidence through Fax.

My case was denied outrightly on March 13th 2020 due to not submitted the recent tax for 2018.

I filed for MTR, with tax 2018, 2019. RD April 7th 2020.

September 9th 2020 MTR was reopened and approved with I-765.

The card was sent and delivered on 13th September 2020.

The waiting time is crazy but it will surely come. Hang on there guys.

It was a long wait with setbacks that yielded great result.

I honestly feel it was unfair for USCIS to deny your applications in March without giving you Notice of intent to deny.

Hello house,it’s been a while.I hope y’all have been good and for people in the us,I hope everybody is safe.I just have a concern so I thought I’d air my worry,I filed for aos and ead since February,I was supposed to do my biometrics on the 1st of April but the lockdown was already in effect,up till now I’ve not heard anything from uscis not even to reschedule my biometrics,I can’t do anything as well not even apply for a drivers license cos the dmv said that my visa already expired and they can’t do anything till the uscis does something,it’s really frustrating,I called them a couple of time and they keep saying the same thing,I have to wait and my state is a small state too so I can’t say that they’re that backed up,is anybody also going through stuff like this too cos it’s frustrating the heck out of my life

We are in same boat and honestly I know exactly how it feels.I filed in April and still waiting to be scheduled for biometrics.

The last time I contacted USCIS, the representative told me If i don’t receive biometrics appointment notice within 90 days of my ASC reopening I should give a call back.

Soon after the 90 days elapsed which is by next month and nothing happens, I hope they won’t have to extend it.

The best we could do now is keep waiting.
But for how long? No one truly knows.

USCIS says one thing today, it changes by tomorrow

I think that processing time is just for the books but the actual time of receiving the EAD will be much shorter.

Hello everyone, so I received my NOA1 for my Work authorization and Application to register permanent residence separately on the 11th of June,though the notice says 11th, I received it by mailed last week. Another amazing news is that despite not being able to get my Socials at the administration office and applying for it via my work authorization form, i got my socials security card by mail on Friday last week, it has the same date with my NOA's 1. I actually was not expecting the card so soon, but thank for everything, most especially for a beautiful home he has blessed me with. I applied for my SSN through administration office in February and still hasn’t come through. I was told it has to be verified manually.

Had to reapply through EAD application and hopefully it comes in soon.

Attraction:
This information is just for those undergoing adjustment of Status. I read that if you file AOS when your k1 is still active (you got married within 90days ). The public charge rule wont affect, you will fill the i-944 forms but it won't be admissible. But if you file AOS after 90days of entry and your K1 non immigrant status is expired, omo the i-944 public charge forms will be scrutinized 100%. And that forms no be small thing. You need evaluation of your transcript or certificates by NACEs member, you need statement of account of the cash you have as at the time of filling as evidence...U convert it to dollars etc, even though you will put your spouse assets etc, you need something for yourself cos the form is about you proving you won't be a public charge.

You can research on this info...for those yet to be here or those filling. Congrats to you all!

I’m at the stage of adjusting my status and the new form (i944) is really confusing. Mostly, the information needed on that form are for those who have been living in US for a while.

In addition, getting my transcript from Nigeria is really difficult if not impossible as i can only request for it in person from my institution.

You can google it my brother,my hubby wants to file my adjustment of status and he learnt that result evaluation from WES alongside marriage certificate here is amongst compulsory docs before u can file adjustment of status .for WES to do a evaluation they need a copy of your result alongside transcripts from the sch u finished from amongst others..they just started this a week ago .

I’ve surfed through the net and couldn’t find anything in regards to your update.
The only update I found was form i944 - Declaration of self sufficiency which is a new requirement from February 24th.

My bro just heed his advice immigration rules are changing,for graduates in the house if you are coming in kindly come along with your certificates and have your transcripts arranged to be sent down as its part of the important documents one must have before you can file for adjustment of status,it must be evaluated by WES(World Education Services) &sent to USCIS over here..... am in a fix /putting calls of how to get my three certifications down heard it was made compulsory effect feb 24th alongside the ban... anyone read about this too ?

It means your passport is ready for collection otherwise it will be returned back to the consulate if not picked up within 5 working days.

Here are my thoughts though.

To those who have secured an interview date which falls after the effect, you might likely be contacted by the embassy for an interview for an earlier date or otherwise. I’m convinced your interview will still take place.

And those who haven’t secured any date yet, you’d likely be advised by the embassy to secure a date on or before the effect.

And to those who are still on with their respective petition with USCIS or just got approved. The case might not be sent to Nigeria since we are no longer eligible. Effect from January 21st, links to immigrants visa application will be totally removed on the website.

You might choose to ignore the above as they are just my own thoughts.

The ban on Chad was lifted after six months after the US government found improvement in Chads security standards.

It’s just so sad.
I expected our government should have taken diplomatic action since the news went viral two weeks ago.

Good day people, for those who did their medical exam in Abuja at MHAC. Did you make payment before attending your appointment. I called them to make an Enquiry and book an appointment and I’m being told I need to bring proof of payment while coming for the appointment I was also given an account number. Pls help me confirm this I don’t want to be scammed.

Oh yeah. I did mine in Abuja and payment was made before attending my appointment.
Find attached details of the account that was given to me if it tally with yours.

@dutchleez if there is no request for additional information or documents from them by 7 business days your visa status should have changed to issued,cos mined changed to issued yesterday so expecting their pick up message anytime from now.. heard it doenst take up to two weeks. so,soon you will get it..cheers

Any update in regards to your passport?

My experience at the embassy earlier today was pleasant except at one of the security point whereby I was turned back to remove my smart watch. Other than than, everything looks good.

I was interviewed by a black American woman (Probably in late 40s) and here goes the question that was asked:

Who petitioned you?
What’s her name?
How and where we met?
Have you applied for a tourist visa before? No
Have you traveled out of Nigeria before?
Have you been arrested before? No
Have you ever been involved in drugs? No
Can I see proof of relationship?
How many times she visited? Just once
When were you engaged?
Do you have kids
Does she have kids
Have you been married before
As she been married before
How old are you
How is your fiancé
Where do I work?
What kind of work do I plan to do in US?

Then she said congratulations your visa is approved. Should be ready in two weeks at this pick up location and make sure you read through the pamphlet. Enjoy the rest of your day.

The above questions are not really in order of how it was asked but the questions were asked in a relaxed way. Spent about 7 minutes with her.

Tips that might help:
1. Put God first
2. Don’t let anyone infuse fear in you
3. Smile or laugh when answering question, it relaxes you.
4. It’s normal to be nervous, I was too. But the moment the CO called me, her approach relaxes me immediately. Kindly compose yourself to expect anything from the CO on your first approach.
5. No one knows your fiancé (e) better than you, find that expression when answering questions.
6. I noticed all the consulate at IV section seems kind and compassionate. So, if they drill you with questions, bear in mind that they are just doing there job and are willing to approve you when they are convinced.
