You're lucky, TBH. Don't be surprised some others of your generation, say, may need several more years to come to that reality.

And God save those who will remain for life in the same type of echo chamber you just got yourself out of.

How will amechi sweep ss and se? How do you reason? Can he win his state? Ss and se will always vote pdp or peter obi,apc can win few states there not the whole region.no candidate can sweep any region,it will be tight and narrow...anywhere atiku wins in the north will be very narrow.places like borno, yobe, bauchi, zamfara, kebbi, kano will always vote apc or any party linked to buhari...the north central and southwest might determine the winners
This is pragmatic and good thinking, IMHO.

Buhari may not be a purist but he acts too sanctimonious to pick anyone today. He would rather leave the decision to the governors. If he really wanted to pick someone he would have done that earlier.

PoliticsRe: Governors Submit Names Of 5 Presidential Aspirants To Buhari - Daily Trust by duwdu:
This latest "Buhari-endorsed" list of five is probably the least number it can get, without it appearing to alienate any political zone(s) in the south.

This is more so, especially as any others of the cleared 23 aspirants can also still go ahead to contest in the indirect primary election if they disagree with the "endorsed" list of five.

All may just be well that should end well for the APC at this point.

Here's wishing all aspirants the best!

PoliticsRe: Buhari To APC Aspirants: Consult, Build Consensus, Produce Formidable Candidate by duwdu:
To me, Buhari has now played a good part indeed, but he's not the one saving the APC per se.

In my view, the fortune of their party, the APC is being saved mainly by the southern governors who forcefully demanded that their presidential candidate come from the south.

Thankfully, their northern counterpart governors more recently aligned with the south and strongly advised President Buhari to also be in alignment.

Suddenly, Buhari is no longer an emperor, who up until just a few days ago had wanted to handpick the presidential candidate of their party, and is now in alignment with arguably the vast majority of the members of their party, and urging the cleared aspirants to please come up from within themselves a consensus candidate specifically from the southern part of the country!

Morals of the story: Don't try to play Emperor when you have neither the required guts, ability to be decisive, nor, quite frankly, transparent character.

He can name his preferred candidate.

That's different from forcing a consensus.

Have your candidate, campaign for him, then let him face other willing contestants in the primary.

Whoever wins will be accepted and supported. That's democracy.
This is the more balanced argument, IMHO. Well said... couldn't have put it any better.

Defense Minister
Finance Minister
Accountant General
Petroleum minister

The truth is that Adamu is the most powerful man in APC right now.

One man is chairman and is with powers of NEC.

And when you realize that nothing and everything can be achieved with his signature, then you’d realize that Tinubu urchins need to be calming down.
LoL, nothing signed or approved by their Chairman by himself alone is ever valid; it will always remain null and void.

For any decision of their NWC to be valid in the eyes of the Law and INEC, it must be signed and approved by at least the Chairman AND Secretary.

A year plus and not much to add. I initially added the whole 600amps Ritar bank back and used it like that for about 3- 4 months, then took 200amps out to use somewhere else. About a week ago, I took another 200amps out. I noticed the ones I took out recently were weak BUT fairly much like the present state of their colleagues I took out of the bank about a year ago. The last 2 Ritar is still paired with the Lithium and still meeting my needs as my household needs have reduced a bit.
So that is it. Union of unlikely bedfellows.

Farooq Kperoqi, thanks for the intelligent analysis of the travails and struggles of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Many are the afflictions of a great star.

Awolowo, in one of his books - Voice of Reason says ' only the deep can reach unto the deep'. My disappointment is Adamu an old man whom many people thought would be above the board brought Oyegun as the Chairman of the Screening Committee. That is very crude and uncivilized. It is a dirty politics and is too open for an old man.

As I have said severally, my major grudge is against Osinbajo. Left to me, no delegate from Ogun State should vote for him, especially, from Ijebu speaking area. What he did is not in our characters. I have said this severally and I know Akarigbo and Awujale understand my viewpoints.

Ojudu should have directed his support to Fayemi his Ekiti brother.
Well said.

PoliticsRe: Presidential Candidate: APC Governors Meeting Deadlocked After Buhari’s Stance by duwdu: 12:00am On Jun 01, 2022
casualobserver:
I dont think Buhari is as comfortable with Osinbajo as appearances suggest. To begin with he has never formally handed power over to him again when out of the country ever since that period when he was sick and Vp did and undid. That to me says a lot. Secondly Osinbajo's supervision of certain key programs has been quietly taken away. Thirdly, I doubt he will snub Tinubu and then add insult to injury by anointing Osinbajo and expect there to be peace in APC. Like it or not religion matters, Buhari is a religious fundamentalist, Amaechi is a moderate Christian, VP is basically a proxy for RCCG, they are not moderate in their views, they have an agenda. If he cant handover to a muslim, he will prefer a moderate christian. Finally I think there is a hint from the fact that the cabal were looking to the SS for a successor, in their failed attempts..... Emeifiele and Jonathan are from the SS.

If it's not Tinubu and it's not osinbajo, it has to be Amaechi, the others dont tick enough boxes

Amaechi seems to be his golden boy, in charge of one of his key legacy infrastrutur projects. he was twice his campaign DG and no doubt aside from Fashola his best performing minister. Amaechi is everybody's friend, has no enemies in APC except Wike in PDP.
I don't think Buhari thinks highly of PYO as his successor, either. Truth be told, if he openly endorses or subtly pushes the RCCG candidate, his fundamentalists base will never forgive him.

Again, the problem with Amaechi is that he can't win the presidency for the APC, and I don't think Buhari wants the party to lose just yet, no matter the gratitude he thinks he owes Amaechi and does not owe Tinubu, at least at this point.

I may be wrong, but I think Buhari may just not want the push for Tinubu to appear to come directly from him.

PoliticsRe: Presidential Candidate: APC Governors Meeting Deadlocked After Buhari’s Stance by duwdu:
casualobserver:
If he wanted Tinubu, there would be no need for consensus. He clearly doesnt want Tinubu but he will not succeed because Tinubu wont step down. He will either allow a fair election or the party will implode. Tinubu cannot afford a consensus unless he is the consensus candidate because he will be finished politically. Remember how he was treated by the cabal? His joker is that they cannot force a consensus on him and only a fool with agree to his own execution. We want to eliminate you so please sign here so we can eliminate you...who does that?

i highly suspect his candidate is Amaechi.
I can relate to most of this; good thinking, @casualobserver.

However, I can't see how the last sentence could be... Even Buhari knows that Amaechi cannot be a winning flag bearer at this point in the life of their party.

But hey, we shall see.

[On another note, I'm just wondering why this Buhari guy has such an acute soft spot for/fears governors so much — literally speaking?

Governor's don't ever run to LGA chairmen to help them 'pick' successors. So, why would Buhari give up his own balls and start asking governor's to help him brainstorm for a successor if he really means to name a particular person?

Is this a further indicator of his inability to be decisive? Or his protracted tendencies to allow things fester?]

Igbos are the typical 'one trick Pony' only good at one thing and one thing alone. All they know to do is insult others and chase whatever appeases the hate they carry in their soul from the day they enter the world till the day they leave it.

This is why they suck at politics and always fail at it. From shouting that "Igbo president in 2023 or no more Nigeria", we have now all seen them capitulate spectacularly after all Igbo candidates imploded to include their messiah who is a cheap 'chinko' fake politican called Peter Obi.

All that is not enough to get them thinking about how woeful and bleak their situation and future is.

They are not ashamed at how poorly Anyim did at the PDP Primaries or how no prominent Igbo leader is supporting any Igbo Presidential aspirant.

They have quickly moved on to 'Atikulating' shamelessly to now be telling us their new messiah Atiku will defeat Tinubu. So hopeless and unprincipled.

Bruv, God will always disgrace and shame hateful and malevolent bigots whose only mission in life is to hate on others unjustly.
Hmm.
