This play by pdp is all too familiar... I'm not interested in whomever emerges victorious, I'm not from ekiti so I'm more interested in 2019 presidential election , but i believe pdp is taking the idea of playing the victim too far. From what I've learnt it's not exactly like the whole state is all in for pdp considering what's happening to civil servants; so there's every likelihood that apc could win fair and square even without the results being manipulated. So for me pdp are giving themselves an softlanding for whatever the outcome is

I agree. I got my PCM60X to Lagos directly from mppsolar out of Taiwan. IIRC, it cost me a few $'s less, w.r.t. shipping costs. Plus, I got to establish a direct email relationship with the frontal/semi-tech rep. At a point after my PCM60X purchase, I was even negotiating for one of those new GK series, but the quoted shipping cost made me pull back. That may change in the future, though.

Add: BTW, there was a follow-up on the initial YouTube video post on the 5048GK... The key thing I got out of the new video, (see link,) is that mppsolar has formally advised of a caveat emptor: to be mindful of possible early wear on components that may be caused by repeated yo-yoing of available solar power, occasioned by cloud covers. Seeing that, someone like me may end up waiting for the second or third generation of the 5048GK model.

here is the review of the 2kva microtek.

You already know how the inverter looks so i will skip physical attributes.

The inverter is rated for 2kva with a power factor of 1. which is impossible. So lets say 0.8; that puts it at 2kva x 0.8 = 1,6kW real power.

I have actually loaded the inverter up to 1500 W and it didn't cut off due to overload; so it's very good there.

But the problem i have with it is surge power which is non-existent; I mean zero.

My fridge is rated for 120W and freezer is rated for 125W thereabouts. I tried putting both of them on at the same time; and the inverter cuts o

off due to overload. So I had to set a timer to make the fridge come on 5 seconds after the freezer.

If the water dispenser (hot: 580W or so) is turned on; as soon as the cold (110W) comes on too; inverter cuts off.

So It cannot handle surges at all. The inverter is very quiet. Has 2 fan (rear + side) which kick in when its loaded to about 350W only . .

Though they are very quiet and smooth. It's a true sine wave; no humming of appliances. The crests might flatten out at higher power draw, i

can't tell cos you would need an oscilloscope for that. It is rugged, yes, idle power draw is 21W ( believe that ).

But my LED bulbs do flicker; especially when it is not loaded. Load the inverter and they become stable.

Also, when power is restored, my LED flicker deeply (just once) but very noticeable .. that is how I know when NEPA has struck or restored

power, lol; apart from the siren in the estate.

It is cool to touch even at maximum load; very lovely heat-exchange design. and Outputs about 20A during charging. Three stage charge; bulk

to float. But the float voltage is 13.3 (cyclic use) as against 13.6 - 13.8 (the norm for deep discharge).

Absorb is also at 13.8 as against 14.4 for my batteries. That is where I have a problem with it. It has a settings at the back for higher voltage, I

did it, still same thing. Uhmm, what else??

Lovely green LED lights for notification. Transfer time is about 10ms and it transfers power from grid and charges even when off.

The nPdp are acting on Saraki's direction. They wanted to blackmail Pmb to drop corruption charges against Saraki and secure a second term for him as Senate president. Both demands were rejected - Saraki's prosecution must be concluded and Senate presidency is zoned to SE. Saraki is in a dilemma - he is not finding things easy in Apc and it will be political suicide to dump the party

This Shehu Sani guy has made so much money in just the four years during which he would have been n the Senate, that he has lost all touch and reality with his own original character. He will soon learn - following his impending loss after the election for whatever office he'll next contest for - that khaki no be leather.

To me, people like Sani don't possess anything near the character or staying power of personalities such as Balarabe Musa, or even Omoyele Sowore. These gentlemen didn't rise to power on the back of Buhari and then start thumping their noses at the same establishment. I have a feeling that ordinary el-Rufai will make sure Sani pays for Sani's shenanigans, hehehe.

all that shiny comes at a cost. and with gnome 3 that cost is huge. Since the upgrade gnome 3 has taking the reputation of being a huge memory hug and worn it like a barge. I will never run a gnome 3 distro on a 4gb ram laptop unless I intend to use it for nothing other than browsing the web. It is not unusual for gnome 3 to use close to 1.6gb ram on bootup. I just doesn't make sense and to make it worse, nothing is being done to address the problem.

Many thanks for this insight and perspective, bigrovar; it helps as one contemplates whether or not to dual-boot on a 4GB RAM Mini PC, just for ordinary surfing/writing/watching HD content.

Just to disillusion you on the nameplate vs actual values, I once rush ordered a set of 250W panels to expand and match my existing 240W panels up on the mount. Lo and behold, I was sold the exact same panels as I previously had as 250W panels. The 240W readings were a perfect match to their nameplates whereas the 250W panels read nothing like their nameplate and read exactly as the 240W ones. The figures on the 250W panels didn't even make sense.

It could be you had a mismatch from the outset with sustained reverse current burning your diode and cable.

Hmm; although the quality of the photograph taken of the second nameplate may be a factor, but I think the poor quality of the printing job itself on the nameplate is a dead giveaway that the panel is not necessarily 100% genuine, to begin with. Just a thought.
