lokoventurex1:Actually, the issue of Ambode's 'been ruining Lagos,' didn't just crop up. The fact that there was a call at all for primaries in Lagos itself, should tell a real student of history, that things had not been well with Ambode's administration for the longest time. Did you realize Ambode's first major steps on getting in, was to abandon Fashola's ongoing key projects, and attempt to label the man an anti-Lagos Federal Minister who had denied Lagos its fair share of allocations through the federal ministry of Works? Claims that turned out to be false, and were in any case debunked by emerging facts? Even as I'm neither a politician, nor in the circle of those who'd know abou how things have been working in Lagos since Fashola left the saddle, I can see from Ambode's statement at his ill-fated 'press conference,' that the man Ambode is vicious and uncouth! You don't develop such character overnight o. Chai. ........ P34c3 ..... ... |
WritePal:This is a poor analogy, actually. The totality of the time within which Lagos, for instance, was jointly developed by the whole country, is infinitesimal, especially on the long run, compared to for how long Lagos has been - and, God wiling, will further be - in existence. So, yeah, Lagosians developed and are continuing to develop Lagos. And so shall it be with the indigenous people and residents of Niger State on the long run, should the FCT be ceded back to them somehow. Let's stop living in our individually closed closet of a mind, abeg. ........ P34c3 ..... ... |

gare:Seriously though, the PDP has never conducted a Direct Primary election to determine any numbers of its own, and I can't see the party doing so between now and the date the submission of party nominees to INEC is scheduled to end, anyways. Another data point: The final numbers from the recent guber elections in Osun state recorded for the APC, were not too far from the numbers recorded by the APC for its winning candidate during it's Direct Primaries that preceded the election proper, IIRC. ........ P34c3 ..... ... |
Olukat:Any where/time the PDP is not in a position to rig elections in Rivers state as a whole, I honestly don't think the party can defeat the APC there. All that result of 95% of registered voters haven "voted" for Jonathan in Rivers state in 2015 were clearly rigged numbers, for example. No where in Nigeria have genuine numbers ever exceeded 50-55% of registered voters with PVC's turning up to vote. But, we'll all have to wait through the 2019 general elections to know which analysis has been the more pragmatic sha. ........ P34c3 ..... ... |

Hi, Folks; At first, it was a miserable performance today, Wh-wise, from the loaded 1.8kW of my panels... because it rained incessantly all morning, and my system could only generate about 100W instantaneous for about four hours after wake, before things improved somewhat to 400W. But then, it stopped raining shortly before 1 PM, things suddenly got sunny, and my output jumped to 1.7kW and 60.8A (attached) for quite a while - this from my MPP Solar PCM60X SCC rated for a maximum output of 1.6kW and 60A at 24V! I'm quite aware the relatively cool atmosphere from the rainy period immediately preceding the sunny period must have helped the level of radiance in my zone during the period, still, I'm pretty satisfied with this performance from my system. I hope my satisfaction is not necessarily misplaced? (BTW, it wasn't the first time I would record such a performance.) basty:Although "half bread" is better than none, even your own take could have been better put. I therefore suggest: If prophecies could make a candidate [to] win an election, GOODLUCK jonathan would have WON the 2015 presidential election. Or, better still, the original message could have been much better expressed, as in the following example: If the outcome of elections were dependent on prophesies, Goodluck Jonathan would have won the 2015 presidential election. Of course, I'm not perfect, either, so I won't be surprised if another kind Nairalander comes in and knocks me off my "pedestal." ![]() ![]() ![]() ........ P34c3 ..... ... |

HisSexcellency:Actually, no. Informed money crazy politicians will know to invest in Solar Electricity Systems (SES) with Battery Backups for their homes, offices, farms, and other places, since we have sunlight in abundance most of the time. They can thus use their their SES to charge their electric vehicles at any of their places at any time, with reckless abandon. Unfortunately, though, most of our folks in 9ja with money of any sort, happen to fall in this "Money Miss Road" category. ![]() Hmm. ........ P34c3 ..... ... |

If the members of the NASS are sincere and want to be transparent on this issue this time around, they will endeavor to ensure as follows: 1. Put back in the Bill the "Compulsory Use of the Card Reader" clauses they unilaterally and clandestinely removed from their last passage of the Bill, even when the executive never objected to the Card Reader being a key part of the proposed law as earlier transmitted to the executive. The executive is in fact professing that the Card Reader should remain/be one of the Gold standard clauses in the final Bill. The executive has already advised the NASS accordingly. 2. Have a joint/reconciliation session with the legal arm of the executive and reach a common understanding w.r.t. the legalities of the new draft of the Bill, before the re-drafted Bill is again transmitted to the President. After all, the NASS has done a rather poor job of most of the Bills it had so far transmitted to the executive, in the life of this eighth Senate. IMHO, the above will make it more certain that the Bill will be more readily signed into law by the President. ........ P34c3 ..... |
National Assembly Panel Decides On Electoral Bill Today Published September 18, 2018 Leke Baiyewu, Abuja The National Assembly has begun work on the Electoral Act 2010 Amendment Bill that President Muhammadu Buhari rejected and sent back to the legislature over drafting issues. The joint Senate and House of Representatives Committee on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill announced in Abuja on Monday that the panel was now considering the issues raised by the President for which he declined assent to the legislation. The Chairman of the Senate Committee on INEC, Senator Suleiman Nazif, who is the chairman of the joint committee, while briefing journalists before the panel went behind closed doors to rework the bill, noted that it would be the fourth time that the committee would be working on the bill, which had been rejected by Buhari two times. He said the resolution by the lawmakers would be announced on Tuesday. Nazif said in part, “I know that this committee is in the eye of the storm and Nigerians are desirous and expecting to hear from us. Here we are, again, trying to address the Electoral Act for the fourth time. Nigerians will recall that there was a first Electoral Act (amendment bill), the second and the third one. And if we pass this one, it will be the fourth one. “I believe that what we are doing is in the best interest of this country. It will address all the fears and we will ensure that we equip INEC with what is necessary and what will ensure free and fair elections in 2019.” The President had written to the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, to notify the National Assembly of his decision to decline assent to the bill. The President had in March refused to sign the electoral amendment bill. In a letter to Saraki and Dogara, he explained why he did not sign the bill. According to him, the bill usurped the constitutional powers of INEC to decide on election matters, including fixing the dates and the order they would be held. He also stated that he was complying with the requirements of Section 58 of the 1999 Constitution, particularly sub-section 4, by refusing to sign the bill. Copyright PUNCH. chidima2019:Mr. Saraki, please be informed that the Oyinbo man who made the pencil, also made the eraser, and so shall it be with those who elected you clandestinely and mischievously to become president of the senate. Furthermore, your resumption date is not cast in stone, and there's always the Doctrine of Necessity for you to have to resume before your earlier planned date in the interest of the nation. In any case, remember you eloped on "vacation" a whole two working days before your originally planned date to do so, even as critical Bills and issues were before you? So, just resume first. One thing: You claiming you and your cohorts are in the majority in the NASS, exposes you as a blatant liar. You - and even the marines who've not been onshore - know you're not. Anyways, just resume first. ........ P34c3 ..... ... |
