Let's be fair warfare has changed a lot since Vietnam, and to be honest USA won't fight this type of war Russia is fighting, they will carpet bomb the whole place before they put boots on ground. And also this is probably the first war after WW2 where 2 world powers are fighting.
All the wars Americans had been fighting is usually unbalanced wars and then they use a lot of air bombing against countries with little to no air defense.
So it's normal for them to have low casualties, let them move their troops to Ukraine and fight if e sure for them
