I didn't say it propels them. For a girl to have a boyfriend, there is an equal and proportional desire to get married someday.

Plus really why is the age tingy such a big deal? If the 18yr old lady decides to date a 21yr old guy, it still doesn't mean they would end up getting married and live happily ever after.

Age shouldn't really be an issue in my opinion. And I don't mean some outrageous age gap like a lady dating someone old enough to be her father.

I think the major thing to consider is the reason for going into the relationship in the ist place. Young guys break hearts, Older guys break hearts.

Sex would always be sex, whether its with a younger guy or older guy.

Do a survey. Which Nigerian lady ever had a boyfriend without the hope/plans of getting married? Report your findings. I'll be here.

Yes it is.

Our parents hustled together in their time. Hardly will you see a large percentage of girls nowadays interested in "starting from scratch" and that's where the age factor comes in.

The only sensible one among the girls you interviewed is the one that mentioned (Financial) Security/Stability. That's all there is to it and the end point is marriage. At least for Nigerian girls.
