@Poster, quite thoughtful of you. It really got me thinking. For one thing, I find you quite observant to have made these categorisations. The ladies really need to see this. To me, it's quite informative. Thank you. |
Please let me have your email address. If you don't want to post it here, you can send it to my own email address as seen on my profile or on my website. Thanks. |
Of course, I am a writer and a poet - my poems are almost up to a hundred now. I have seen your blog and you really have nice poetry pieces, but have you gotten copyright for them before putting them on the Internet? Have you taken steps to protect your intellectual property from theft and plagiarism? Or don't you think it is necessary? |
You are welcome Muyiscoy. I would have loved to see your email address and your other works; I don't know what you think about this. |
God! I love this poem! If you like, you may feel flattered, but the truth has to be said: YOU ARE GOOD. |
People have different opinions of Mariam. I am not out to commend or condemn any. However, during a research on the so-called Vatsa conspiracy of 1985, we came accross a moving story of how Mariam saw some evidences that pointed to Vatsa's innocence, and she made frantic efforts to convince her husband not to execute Vatsa. Then on the day that Vatsa's death sentence was to be confirmed, she made repeated calls to her husband none of which was picked. Eventually, Mariam managed to pass a note to her husband (while the meeting was in progress) urging him to spare Vatsa's life. Her appeal was not taken and that was a sad episode in her life. From this I want to give her the benefit of doubt that it is possible that not all wrong decisions taken by her husband were supported by her; while at the same time not trying to say that she is an angel. And I want to add that while God's judgement is the best and the ultimate, in the present circumstance I chose to say May her soul rest in perfect peace. |
Promiscuity is largely a question of individuals and circumstances and not really a question of tribe. I am sorry to say that this type of topic hardly does anything to help inter-ethnic relations. |
@Ribadufan, I would like you to expaciate on WHY there can't be a better part? @Samorijack, the issue is not whether she is a politician; I have not dabbled into whether Madam is a politician or not; it's about the question of whether she is more useful to the nation -and to herself too, in governemnt than in NAFDAC (and I now add, whether NAFDAC has faired better after her exit). |

Basically, I see nothing wrong in it. The first relationship I have ever had was with a lady who asked me out, and the relationship was very stable and almost got to the altar, if not for her mother's opposition to our marriage in the nick of time. I have never loved or respected any lady as much as I respected that lady ever after. I have a couple or so associates who are today happily married to ladies who actually approached them first. I think the attitude towards ladies who approach men first varies among men; some will see such ladies as cheap while others will be stunned or impressed by the boldness of such lady and give them respect. In the case of the lady who approached me first, I discovered within a short time that she was not cheap at all and that she took the action because she was only bold and very frank with herself about what she really wanted. |
Great lesson. But thank God I am not one of those men that have made that mistake, and by God's grace, I will never do |
I will forgive her if I have reasonable grounds to be sure that it will never happen again. |
Up Madrid! |
Muslims and Christians are one, under the same God. These controversies will take us nowhere. It is God who knows who truly worships him. Please let us love one another and make the world a better place. God bless you all. |
Hello all. It is a very sad news and it seems to be all over the place. I have experienced it twice at Bank PHB and they end up never refunding my money. What I have done to resolve it is to stop using ATM card. My own investigation reveals, rather sadly, that unknown to many Nigerians, ATM technology in Nigeria is still bedevilled with many important flaws and loopholes but the banks will give you the impression that they have perfected it. It all boils down to one thing: while making the withdrawal of cash faster and more convenient, ATM compromises the safety of your money as its safety is no longer totally within the apparently more guaranteed security system of your bank. And so this gives the banks the excuse to blame other factors that are external for the lose of your money. Sometimes they are right and sometimes they are wrong, but it seems to me that many banks now capitalise on this to avoid accepting responsibilty for these growing incidents of loss of money from people's account. If you are still using ATM and nothing has happened to your money, you are simply being lucky, because in the process of trying to find 'better' banks, I discovered that many customers of other banks complain the same thing. I know many people who got into this mess even while using the ATM machines domiciled in the bank branch where they opened their accounts, so it is not a guarantee!!! We just have to accept that we in Nigeria have not yet gotten to the promised land as far as ATM technology is concerned, and if you take into consideration the fact that these sorry incidents have dramatically increased since the inception of ATM technology in Nigeria, people who are so used to the use of ATM need not be told what to do now. |
I checked the website and found out that he actually has something to offer. |
The basics of the difference between lust and love are these: lust is an attraction towards the opposite sex that is characterised by a diabolic, erotic desire more often without real affection. The men who sleep with prostitutes feel lust and not love for such women as a result of just seeing such women as objects of sexual gratification and nothing more. As for love, while it does not have a universal definition, the basic ingredient of love is a feeling of strong affection, goodwill, attraction and attachement towards the person that is loved. The interesting thing about love is that, inspite of the controversies that may arise about its definition, you know it when it grips you. |
It is possible but it is a thing that will be difficult for most mature minds to do. Most people that are mature will hesitate before falling in love like that. For example, such persons may want to know more about the person on the other side beyond mere internet interactions. My judgement is that what is more reasonable is to first develop interest. Developing interest should however not be condused with falling in love. It is this interest that will now encourage the person to decide how far to go or whether not to go at all. |

On the surface it may come as a good news that such a well respected Nigerian professional like Professor Dora Akunyili is a ministerial nominee. Yet there are fears me (and some others) have for her, that she is more of a professional than a politician and may end up having her good image tarnished through rubbing shoulders with corrupt politicians. In short, there is this view by some that Dora is too clean to serve in this government; that she should have remained known as a no-nonsense professional figure fighting illegal health and food products in the society. So what is your opinion on this plung that Professor Dora Akunyili appears set to take into politics? |
Online dating is okay for those who know how to be careful. My school daughter married last month to a guy she met on the Internet. It started like a play, but they are happily married today. I wish other believers in online dating the same good luck. |

I have always respected ladies who have the frankness and courage to say it out that they want or love a man. It doesn't mean cheapness; it means frankness and courage. Laide, I bow for you. |
To me, any lady that has the honesty and courage to say it that she wants a man, deserves respect. Sister, I bow for you. |
The errors and ommisions in my initial post have been corrected. I ask for your pardon. |
