In summary he's begging investors to come and in vest because he has a large population of young people who are not only illitrates ("...have not been to school") but also lazy ("....want to sit and doo nothing..) and have very bad entitlement mentality ("... want free education and healthcare")
Buhari is brain dead joor. Stop all this threat of free people on Nairaland. Find a way to deal Sith your Oga' s fuckup. Advise him to apologise as many reasonable Nigerians have suggested. Threat is a drowning man's resort. And saying you know the result of 2019, weh done
deomelllo: You can not do any better than you did in 2015 when Nigerians trashed and sent GEJ your hero back to his village and the same is in your future in 2019.
Your entire 100% votes for GEJ/PDP in the SE/SS did not make any difference in 2015 so what's different today?
We know the results already.
Bros, keep reassuring yourself. Good for your health, serious.
But now, there's Arewa Youths and the Middle Belt is looking for new friends.
1. Who and where are the youths baba was referring to? Are they Arewa Youths or Middle Beltans or Ohaneze or Youruba Youths? Even Niger Delta Youths don't agitate for free effrithin. The want resource control, the want oil wells, the want a stop to pollution and environmental degradation. So, who are these youths please? Provide reference just as you have started to do.
2. But not as important, so the proportion of the 'do-nothing-want-everrything' youths is so enormous as to warrant emphasis in Commonwealth forum by baba.
Our problem is always trying to interpret what baba means from what he clearly states. I asked you to watch the video. It's unambiguous. If you have never been to Nigeria (As many in that potential investors forum have not), and you are told that by the President, what impression will you go home with. THAT'S THE POINT!
Netanyahu1: We are not talking about graduates not understanding rocket science here, we are talking about graduates not being able to tabulate record with pen and paper or even interpret it.
@Netanyahu1, you tend to overate the real meaning of "graduate". May be you are not a graduate, yourself (No offense meant pls). A graduate with zero work experience is just a tanker of potentials, no work knowledge. In fact, he's there to learn.
I am an Engineer. A graduate of engineering in any work place is called a pupil engineer. In the accounting/audit practice forms, graduates are trainees.
Who would have thought that graduate how to tabulate and record if his course does not involve industrial attachment (SIWES), which of course has been basterdised.
Next time you hire a fresh graduate, put him/her on unconfirmed status/probation and budget for his/training for the first 6-18months. Complain afterwards if he/she becomes untrainable
Know what? You are just a good example of a lazy youth. Your Monika is a betrayal because you are not sharp one bit.
I've just boldened the misspellings in your sentence. Just a sentence and you made so many errors. And you haven't learnt to write names starting with Capital letter. #LazyYouth
sharrp: Before chimamanda their was chinual Achebe, before wizkid we had fella, don't write off the elderly ,
Etianwanokon: Joe Igbokwe, I was a baby and growing up in a family where reading of soft sell magazines was a taboo and I use to admire you writing for Newswatch Magazine and winning prizes. Were you lazy. I agree with some facts there but you are are wrong about some too. What are the President's children doing for a living?
Antoeni: 10 REASONS WHY I INSIST SOME NIGERIAN YOUTHS ARE LAZY.
1. A research carried out at NNAMDI Azikiwe University Awka Anambra State found out that Students spend more time doing some funny things on the Internet than focusing on their books.
you miss the point here. If he had said that they sleep or party i will agree but The students are smart enough to know they are being offered antiquated curriculum that has no bearing with real life and success in life. So they spend more time on useful things in the internet like Bitcoin, seeking out ppl that want to get rich quick to 'help, seeking lonely white ladies ready to part with dollars for some love, etc.
2. In the 90s I had some two Children of close family members in my house. They were about writing their WEAC Exams but I did see them for one day reading for the exams. When I confronted them they said ' Uncle do not worry we will pass' They 'passed' and today they are 'graduates' but I know they are not.
again the children are smart enough to know there's an alternative and smarter way to pass. Block the loophole and you see them adjust and adapt
3. Today in Nigeria if you want a good carpenter, Tiler or POP man you need to get the Togolese, Camerounians, Ghanaians to do the job.
there are better paying hustle bro. When the internet is there.
4 I have met Mothers who are ready to give anything including their bodies for their Children to get admission into Universities and even to pass common entrance exams.
please deal with the mothers' fuckup. Leave the youths out of desperation of their parents. This no proof of youth laziness but parental recklessnesss
5 For years I have pleaded with some of the young people I know to go to learn a trade and even when I succeeded in getting them places to learn something they usually run away to go and continue to beg.
deal with it Sir. In our society, begging pays.
6 I have met many of our young people who said they went to university and when you engage them you will discover instantly that they are fake graduates who are not employable and yet they will tell you there are no jobs.
they went to University you said! Buhari said the youth haven't been to school. Reconcile, you are out of point
7 One of my brothers spent good money to get his wife who claimed to be a graduate a teaching appointment. He pushed and pushed until one day he was invited by the man who wants to help him. My brother was shocked to the marrows when the man told him that the woman should return to class one in Secondary School and that she knows nothing.
ditto. Deal with the quality of educational system bequeathed on us by your very generation. Who graduated that woman? Youths?
8 In the South East today hundreds of young men have been brutally killed in drug related offenses in South Africa, Thailand, Malaysia and other Countries. Some sell their Kidnies to raise money. Give these young men a job of 200k a month they will just laugh at you.
bros, you confuse well-paying but risky hustle with laziness. Without risking calling you unintelligent, you need to research the simple maxim of risk-return relationship. Here, we have very daring youths not lazy youths
9 Today in NNEWI where I come from it is difficult for you to get a young boy to learn a trade for say 5,6,7 years before they are established. They prefer Okada business, yahoo yahoo, begging etc.
I've told you, ROI and capital payback period is more favourable in okada and begging. Deal with it. It's a societal issue. Leave the youths. They have their eyes on the money and returns
10 There are so many fake Proprietors of universities and Polytechnics in NIGERIA that are only interested in money and nothing else. They go to JAMB and bribe them to send these 10th rate poor students to them. They push and push them until they graduate and the vicious cycle continues. We have close to 200 Higher Institutions but how many of them are real higher institutions.
Youth? Why are there fake proprietors if not laziness of NUC, NBTE, Buhari govt. You criticise yourself and thinks it's youths. Your generation failed! QED!
I am passionate about getting our Country to work again and that is the reason why I am challenging the young people of Nigeria. My father abused us for laziness and untoward behaviors to make us strong and dedicated. Our teachers in those days abused, flogged and and gave us pits to dig for failing to do our assignments. I know a father who went to pick his son in Navy school Abeokuta for holidays. When he got there and was told that the boy failed his exams the man turned his car and left for LAGOS without the boy. He did not return to pick that boy until after one week. It became a turning point in the life of that boy.
READ YOUR FIRST LINE. Who made our country not work in the first place? Youths? I said it, you've now agreed -Your generation failed! Youths are only trying to navigate the mess Buhari and your generation left us
Some very quick ones: Anything positive about Nigeria is the creation of younger generation, be it Nollywood or the thriving Nigeria hip-hop industry or the e-Commerce or Sports not forgetting the International fames won by the Chimamanda etc. The elderly in Nigeria should keep quiet or be reminded that they ruined this country with coups, dysfunctional constitution, nepotism, bribery corruption, just name it. The youths are ready to hustle in this destiny-killing contraption of a nation, the handiwork of you the older generation. Joe Igbokwe, you are notorious but not popular. You ought to hide your face in shame for what you reoresent!
Op, just pause a whole and ask yourself, what did Buhari's generation bequeath to Nigeria? I will give you few answers but b4 then.....
The younger generation gave us Nollywood! Completely recovered the previoisly colonised music industry earlier taken over by American and Western hip hop industry, with many Nigerian-born artists today making waves internationally like Seal, Sade Adu, Jidenna, etc. Gave us international fame through sports e.g. football -Junior World Cup tournament! Gave us a place in global ICT marketplace- our own home-grown Nairaland as a case in point of very many examples; e-commerce like Jumia and Konga. I can go on and on.
Buhari and his generation gave us coup d'etats, gave us civil war and now Fulani herdsmen invasion plus nepotism and dysfunctional constitutional framework. Never took the opportunity they had to build a good foundation for Nigeria's growth and economic buoyancy made disproportionate and poor investment in power, rail and other strategic infrastructure.
Buhari's has no moral grounds to say what he said about our ever struggling youths. He should rather cover his face in shame that after his 2nd coming to leadership of the Nigerian state, he's even more clueless and confused than during the last coming which ostensibly was Idiagbon ideological era. Buhari is a big shame to his generation of Nigerians
The argument is not between 'a lot' and 'all' of our youths. It's Not!
He said 'a lot' of them (our youths), yes. Now ask yourself, if this 'a lot' is insignificant, why would it be worth PRESIDENT'S mention in such an important meeting as the Commonwealth Forum?
The truth, Buhari's impression of Nigerian Youth is what he expressed.
Femi, you are the twister here. The argument is not between 'a lot' and 'all' of our youths. It's Not!
He said 'a lot' of them (our youths), yes. Now ask yourself, if this 'a lot' is insignificant, why would it be worth PRESIDENT'S mention in such an important meeting as the Commonwealth Forum?

janetdaniels201: STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT BUHARI COULDN'T HAVE DERIDED ALL NIGERIAN YOUTHS
At the Commonwealth Business Forum in London on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, President Muhammadu Buhari gave a keynote address on Making Business Easier Between Commonwealth Countries. The presentation was followed by a discussion, and question and answer session. Responding to a question, President Buhari had cause to talk about some Nigerian youths, and he said: " We have a very young population; our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million. More than 60 per cent of the population is below the age of 30. A lot of them have not been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria has been an oil producing country, therefore they should sit and do nothing and get housing, healthcare and education free.” Typical of their stock in trade, manipulators and twisters of statements of Mr President, who lie in wait to make mischief, interpreted the comment to mean that President Buhari had taken all Nigerian youths to the cleaners. But elementary English recognizes a wide gulf between "a lot of" and the word "all." How can "a lot of them," suddenly transmogrify to mean “all of them?” Mischievous and unconscionable! There is no way President Buhari, father of the Nigerian nation in every sense of the word, who equally has biological children of his own in the youths age bracket, pass a vote of no confidence on all youths. It can only exist in the imagination of those who play what the President has described as "irresponsible politics" with everything. President Buhari has always applauded and celebrated Nigerian youths who excel in different areas of endeavour, from sports, to academia, and other realms. And he will continue to do so, because he values the youths, and knows that they are the fulcrum on which the future of the country rests. Indeed, every country has its share of idle population, and it is the bounden duty of government at all levels, to create an enabling environment for them to actualize their potentials. That is what President Buhari is committed to doing. The focal areas of the administration; securing the country, reviving the economy, and fighting corruption, are actually intended to give youths a future and a hope. This much was emphasized in an April 5, 2018 comment by President Buhari, while receiving Letter of Credence from the Head of Delegation of the European Union to Nigeria, when he said: " Our insistence on probity is to encourage people to be accountable, and accept honesty as a lifestyle so as to secure the future of our youths.’’ The President also said more than 60 percent of Nigerians fall into the age category of youths and deserve to inherit a stable and prosperous country that they can be proud of, adding that the government will work assiduously to prevent waste and the depletion of resources by corrupt Nigerians.
It is futile for mischief makers to lie in wait, and take a minor part of the words of the President, and turn it into negative commentary, peradventure they could diminish the profile of the President. Nigerians across all walks of life know who is serving them faithfully and truly, and they will always reciprocate such fidelity as occasions demand.

This man is working hard to unseat Lai Mohammed. Expect more stupidity from him in his quest to be Info minister in Bubu's 2nd tenure (in Daura, no doubt).
Why are Igbos not causing same problem in South-west or South south and other regions?
It's not the Igbos Sir, it's the northern youths who are creating the demand. Business sense, that's all. Igbos are interested in trading. Wherever there's demand you find them ever ready to fill the gap.
If there's demand for shìt, they will troupe in.
That's why there are reported Igbos in Sambisa, filling an established demand.

NIGERIA“This Buhari is wicked”- Airline passenger laments as Lagos under lock down
President Buhari: Photo-dailycorrespondents.com.ng
It was bedlam this morning in Lagos as Lagosians battled to beat the traffic restrictions necessitated by the two days official visit of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Residents especially those travelling out of Lagos who thought by leaving there homes as early as 5am would help, were thoroughly disappointed as they discovered that security operatives had blocked key roads in the city.
All vehicular traffic on the very busy Mobalaji Bank Anthony Rd was blocked and passengers going to the airport had to trek all the way from areas like Maryland, Opebi and Oshodi.
All entreaties to security agents to give passengers who had tickets for early flights access to the airport fell on deaf ears.
Frustrated passengers who were sweating as result of walking long distances by foot, were heard raining curses and abuse on President Buhari, Lagos State Governor Ambode and the ruling APC.
At the Murtala Muhammed Airport an enraged Kayode Olukunle who said he was an Abuja bound passenger told signaturetv.com.ng that he trekked from Ladipo Bus Stop on the Agege Motor Rd to the airport.
“What point is Governor Ambode trying to make? Is he saying he loves Buhari more than the rest of us. Why would he put Nigerians through this kind of suffering? And the President sees this and keeps quiet? Honestly this Buhari is wicked”.
In a telephone discussion about 6 am with a very high ranking Buhari aide who wishes not to be mentioned by name, signaturetv.com.ng was told that the city lockdown was the idea of the Lagos State Government that had nothing to do with the Presidency.
He said it was to avoid situations like this that the President was always reluctant to visit Lagos.
He told this channel that the President’s entourage would be leaving for the Abuja airport about 8am.
At the Ikeja airport some airlines rescheduled their flights to accommodate late arriving passengers while passengers whose flights left on schedule without them, were seen making alternative travel plans.
Meanwhile the hiccups notwithstanding, many Lagosians are still upbeat over the President’s visit.
Major streets are decorated with banners and billboards welcoming the August visitor.
