Ngwakwe: I am 100% sure that those Chairmen were never elected as PDP rejected participating in that LGA election and said they never fielded any candidate hence Ohakim conjured an event and called it election which the results were never declared but People were sworn in a day after the said election.Thank you bruv, thats the whole truth! |
Andre Uweh: They were sacked because they were not elected. No one voted for them. We do not need them back in Imo state.Andre thank u jor, U r the only one here that understood what really happened in Imo State August 2010, the so called LG council election was a scam, Ohakim just hand picked some aspirantsfrom the 27 LGA in Imo state and sent their names to his own ISIEC after dissolving the one set by Achinike's government to hurriedly conduct an election even when there was a court injuction ordering him not to hold the election. Any body in Imo State as of that time knew that was nothing like party primaries and even the so called election was a big scam cos people did not go out to vote. It is quite a pity that these guys will come back to frustrate Rochas government all the way, this is a very big blow to Imo state. You see rule of law for lawless Nigerians could lead to ambiguous results. |
none of the above. |
O.D.B. u get time ooo, you've made ur point just move on. |

bayooooooo: The subsidy probe report is dead and buried.Nope! i don't think so, this is just the beginning of the mega drama. I tell you, TUC & Civil societies are watching with their eyes quite open this time around. So pls don't give up yet. |
CY09: love your take on this matter.Me too!!! |
Rue-ben Agbati bad adviser!! |
@egift I think it should be What happened between 1914 - 2012 GEJ mentioned "till date," and u & i knw a lot had happened b/w 1960 - 2012. So may be he is trying to say what ever went wrong at the amalgamation period showed its ugly head the moment we started ruling ourselves till date. |
maasoap: A sitting president is calling for division of the country you swore to protect. It is simply treasonable offence. Even if almagamation is our problem, just fix it; you don't need to tell us. If I proffer solution, if you bring suggestion, power and authority to decide still resides with him. He couldn't probe oil subsidy cabals but when House did, he simply put it under carpet. This is the first Nigeria president to be found of making unguided utterances, numerous excuse, blaming others for his failure. Then you need to ask, do this man really deserve free food, free fuel, free shelter, free fleet of armoured cars, free fleet of jets, state sponsored education of children, jumbo pay, mouth watering gratuity, life pension, etc? So much benefits for doing so little. Abacha was more economically sound and capable than this zoo keeper.A sitting president is for division by saying the highlighted parts below Nigeria’s problem didn’t start from my regime – Jonathan PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, declared that the numerous problems confronting the nation did not start from his regime which commenced only two years ago. He asked Nigerians to reassess their journey from independence till date with a view to ascertaining the areas where the nation had gone wrong in order to make amends. According to the President, something must have gone wrong along the line from 1914 when the Southern and Northern Protectorate amalgamated till date, stressing that the problem of Nigeria did not start today. “When the Priest was speaking, I started asking myself – what must have gone wrong from 1914 that the Northern and Southern parts of the country were amalgamated? They were under colonial rule since 1960 when we started governing ourselves. From 1960 to date it is about 50 years. “I don’t think it is the two years that President Jonathan assumed the office that these problems came up. So something must have gone wrong and all of us citizens of this country must reassess ourselves, our journey from independence till date, the areas that we have not done too well in order to effect a change. “Let us not play politics with the development of the country. Let us work hard to change our country for the better. We have no other country to go to. There was a time we had a television play where Andrew wanted to check out of the country; we are not checking out of this country, we will all stay, we will all work together, do our best to change the country for our children.” |
So, here are the exact quote, tell us it does not attribute the present challenges of the nation to the amalgamation of North and South? According to the President, something must have gone wrong along the line from 1914 when the Southern and Northern Protectorate amalgamated till date, stressing that the problem of Nigeria did not start today. “When the Priest was speaking, I started asking myself – what must have gone wrong from 1914 that the Northern and Southern parts of the country were amalgamated? They were under colonial rule since 1960 when we started governing ourselves. From 1960 to date it is about 50 years. GEJ emphasized here on "along the line " something must have gone wrong - in other words something went from good to bad between 1914 to 2012 of which 1960 he mentioned here is still not out of place. There was no where he said the amalgamation was the problem the way you are suggesting, meanwhl what of the coloured part below; Nigeria’s problem didn’t start from my regime – Jonathan PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, declared that the numerous problems confronting the nation did not start from his regime which commenced only two years ago. He asked Nigerians to reassess their journey from independence till date with a view to ascertaining the areas where the nation had gone wrong in order to make amends. *Most of achievements credited to Buhari was actually done by Tunde Idiagbon, who was more active & brave in the war against indiscipline. *When Abacha's govt threw fat meat on the table for the duo to pick from (Buhari & Idiagbon) Buhari rushed his (PTF) Idiagbon rejected his own juicy offer. *IBB only succeeded in their Coup simply becos Idiagbon was away to Mecca & Buhari did not even know his enemies. *Buhari was more interested in Northern & Islamic agenda, and this actually worked against him in the last election. * If by chance Buhari makes it to Aso rock again is going to be a different ball game from the military era, the legislative arms gonna frustrate him big time, and if he goes too hard "Impeached" will become his name. *I must tell U Karma is a B.I.T.C.H., u cannot overthrew a democratically elected govt, without any plans of re-installing it and hope to enjoy one years after......Obj succeeded cos he handed over to civilians, so he was good to enjoy one thereafter. Finally i am personally not enjoying GEJ's rulership, cos i think he is more loyal to the party (PDP) than the masses who yearned for his leadership, believing that he's gonna be quite different from the rest considering 1. his humble background, 2. coming from one of the minority tribes of the nation, 3. not having anything to do with the past military juntas 4.also his gentle mien. But all these doesn't seem to be coming into play now, though i'm not oblivion of the wars wedged against him by the northern Muslims master-minded by the northern oligarchs and ACN trying their best to cash in on the distractions & insecurity created by this set of people. Nonetheless, Buhari is not, and can never be the panacea for Nigerian plague. |
soloqy: And if you have some stick so high up your as's, that you think everything is about you and has to be about you, then you need to get the crap out of your a'ss.i noticed that too. |
All hail!! Manchester City. |
Gentleboby: All is about how to get rid of strong decoders using DSTV cards.my thoughts too. |
ndidibabe: Really! This 'swap excercise' should have lasted more than 3 days before disenganging users with older card. Thanks for the info, sir.I'm sure the time will be extended, they really need your monthly subscription....the worse that could happen is that after the deadline ur system may be scrambled when u visit the DSTV office ur card will be swapped and ur system reset, no fears. |
ndidibabe: Thanks, Man. I have done the upgrade myself several time. I am just surprised that they are asking that one should bring the Smartcard to their office. Maybe the intended upgrade is different from we know..Yeah you are right! it is a smart card swap, those that have kappa branded cards won't be affected by this upgrade, but those using the 990 model of decoder 4 sure........except if u've done a card swap b/4 now. |
topefisayo: The upgrade can be done manually without necessarily taking it to their office. Press Menu from the remote control, scroll down to information, press upgrade, press manual upgrade and it will upgrade itself. It will take about ten to fifteen minutes.i don't think the smart card upgrade is for every DSTV customers, actually it is for any customer that received the text msg for the said exercise. I learnt they want to phase out some set of smart cards, basically it is a swap of card ie they collect ur old card and give you another card. The upgrading you are talking about here is merely a new soft ware download....it is on on the decoder and not the smart card pls be guided. |
