not at peak though.. generations usually peak between 11 - 1 and subsequently drops off. The standard practice is to use the 77% rule which will account for heat, wiring and charge controller related loses. do your calc with 77% of the capacity of the solar panel hence 300 x 0.77 = 231
231 * 5 = 1,155 using 5 hours is also a safe bet. Such calculation as this should err on the safe side and as such should focus on a minimum average

The 77% is very realistic for most set up.

Religion / Re: If You Believe You Can Lose Your Salvation, Then You Have Called God A Liar by Earthrealmlord: 6:29pm On Dec 30, 2018
OP IS RIGHT.

Let me explain it this way.

Suppose you were a farmer working in your fields. It had rained the day before, and by the end of the day you were filthy and your clothes were covered with mud. (I grew up on a farm, and I know how easily this could happen!) Then suppose that when you came home your wife told you the governor had invited you for dinner that evening. But you knew that if you showed up in your dirty clothes, you’d be turned away—and when you went to your closet, everything else was dirty also. But then suppose the governor’s chauffeur drove up, and brought in a spotless suit of clothes that fit you perfectly! Now you could appear without embarrassment at the governor’s dinner.

This is a homely illustration, I know—but this is what Jesus Christ has done for us. We have no holiness of our own; as the Bible says, “All our righteous acts are like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6). But when we come to Christ, God takes those rags away, and He clothes us instead with the perfect holiness of Christ. Yes, without Christ’s holiness we’ll never see God—but with it we will!

NiyiOmoIyunade:
15 pieces 260watt panels give about 3.9kw rated. Allowing for real life factors and constraints, you should see anywhere from 3kw to 3.2kw yield sustained for any length of time.

With the above your max amps is about 60amps - when you factor in what your loads will consume, you probably have less than 60amps making it into the batteries. Let us say loads are 10amps and you have 50amps net charge going into the batteries. Means you are charging your batteries at 4C/C4 which is a bit steep even for an AGM. If your batteries were flat, you would have force charged them to full in 4 to 5 hours max.

Tendency is for a lead acid battery to run hot with this kind of fast charging. An AGM may take it, Gels and Flooded batteries don't generally like anything more than a C8/C10 charge rate.

So it all boils down to your battery type, Lithium you are probably good, most Flooded and Gel is a big NO. AGMs it would depend on the specific battery.

Because your batteries are 50Ah, they may not be so rugged to withstand a fast charge even though they make up a 200Ah bank. I am interested to know how the battery terminals are configured and how you attached thick gauge cables to what I assume are tiny battery terminals.

I am always in favour of upgrades, I would say get the additional panels and run a test to see if the batteries go above 34°C while fast charging - if not you are good - if they do run hot then you can set your CC not to exceed a particular current on the output. I had to do something like this recently in an install where the PV capacity far exceeded the battery and loads.

Thanks for the in-depth analysis

I Salute all the men in the house
I need advise please.

I have sixteen pieces of 12v 50ah batteries, connected in strings of 4 series and 4 parallel
to make a bank of 48v 200ah. i have been charging with AEDC but due to the epileptic power
supply this days i decided to go solar.

I have an array of nine 260 watts solar panels and a 60ah Yohako Mppt charge controller.

I have an offer to upgrade my current array to fifteen 260 watts solar panels and a new 80ah Outback Flexmax charge controller

My question is will my battery bank made of individual 12v 50ah batteries be able to handle such current?

pat077:
what is VMP and VOC

Voc = Voltage open circuit - Nothing attached to the panel.

Vmp = Voltage maximum power - This is the voltage that occurs when the module is connected to a load and is operating at its peak performance output under standard test conditions (STC).

This is always listed on the module specification sheet and sticker

hello sir.....i av the following questions abt the life
pro 40ah ba3 1.pls how much is the current price (the
one with charger) 2.can i use it to power home
appliances directly without inverter 3.how many hours
can it power a 200watts load 4.how long does it take to
charge with nepa 5. can it be charged directly by solar
panel
carefully answer the above without leaving any behind
am verymuch interested

1. I have only Batteries. (I can help you get charger)
2. Yes if the allpiance is DC (Direct Current) . NO if it is AC (Alternating Current)
3. It depends on the state of charge and your determined level of discharged, all things being equal
i.e full charge to zero charge is 480/200 =2.4
4.It depends on your charger and level of discharge
5.Yes (you do not need to worry about charge controller because it is inbuilt)

(AWAY FROM THE CURRENT CURRENT POLITICAL DRAMA )

*ASK A NIGERIAN POLITICIAN WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT THIS HOT WEATHER CONDITION*

*Journalist*: what are your thoughts on this heat Nigerians are complaining about and what is the government doing about it:

RESPONSES:

*LAI MOHAMMED*: this is the result of PDP’s misrule, they stole the ozone layer.

*FEMI ADESINA*: Mr. President promised us change and that includes change in temperature. CHANGE IS HERE, EMBRACE IT.

*AKINWUMI AMBODE*: We have signed a $10million deal with LG to install air conditioners across the Lagos skyline.

*IBE KACHUKWU*: I assure you the heat will disappear by 2pm 29th May.

*BUKOLA SARAKl*: Tinubu wanted the heat to be more than this but i opposed him, out of my love for Nigeria and that is why they are witch-hunting me.

*GOODLUCK JONATHAN*: This heat was not this bad when I left office/power but Nigerians did not appreciate me.

*ADAMS OSHIMOLE*: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala stole the N100 billion meant for temperature control Research.

*NASIR ELRUFAI*: We are in talks with General Electric to see how they can generate power for Kaduna from the heat.

*RAUF AREGBESOLA*: I have just approved payment of January salary so that Osun workers can buy hand fan.

*ALIKO DANGOTE*: Next week, we are commissioning the Dangote Fan Factory; by 2030 Australia will be buying fans from us.

*BEN MURRAY-BRUCE: *tweets* when Naira is weak and inflation is high automatically there will be heat. This is common sense.

*NGOZI OKONJO-IWEALA*: Under the last administration there was no political will to address climatic change:

*PRESIDENT BUHARI: From USA* ... this heat is kwarupt because Nigeria is kwarupt and I will fight every form of kwaruption involved and responsible for this heat and every kwarupt heat will go to jail.

Pagan origin or not, what is important is your intention.
if you celebrate christmas with the intention to praise God it's all good.
It is not compulsory to celebrate Christmas especially if you don't believe in it, but it is your responsibility to respect those (your brothers, sisters, friends and relatives) celebrating .

From the comments I read in the post,it seems these leadership problems and failures are not peculiar to Nigeria. The only difference is that while the people in other countries will insist that their leaders do what they were elected to or get voted out,Nigerians would rather pray while the leaders are not held accountable.

A win will be very Good but a Draw today will be Ok, Since Caf Policy is Head to Head not Goal difference.

This country must be restructured else it will only get worse. No Politician can fix the numerous challenges bedeviling our great nation without addressing the root cause. The center is too rigid, centralized and worse we have crude, unpatriotic, heartless and wicked Leaders, Leaving the masses to continue to compete for the ever shrinking ''LESS''
This country is currently at an all time LOW we have never been this divided. Life in this present Nigeria is equal to PUNISHEMENT.
