It was the night of the 13th of April while I was in church and news[http://thenationonlineng.net/policewoman-slumps-death] got to my ears that my mother collapsed, before I could reach the hospital, she had passed away! As sad as this event was for me, I consider it worthy to pen my thoughts on a woman who heralded my passage to planet earth twenty something years ago, as a sign of tribute to her even after she has passed on to the world of no return. Today, marks my birthday and after writing this few days after her demise, I think it is wise I re-edit and publish it on the 26th of May, 2016. She was indeed a woman of esteem, honor and virtues, far-reaching above the skies. She was very careful about her offspring, a kind of mother you can boastfully talk about anywhere you are due to her strong financial input in all her children’s life. An astute socialite that even necessitated the announcement of her death in National newspapers, while so many people refer to the Nigeria Police Force as a group of corrupt individuals who are given to bribery, I am quick to defend the force due to my in-depth knowledge of my late mum’s stance on bribery and corruption. She indeed does not want to be associated with issues like that, as she is a strong believer in the law of Karma. Death has indeed taken away a woman who wished that I would be flying to Paris anytime soon and had to buy the newly released Boom J8 for I and my siblings. Indeed, she is the kind of Proverbs 31 woman. I input this tribute here this day because the internet never forgets, as the internet never forgets, so are the children, her husband and everyone she has had contact with never forget her as she’s a cheerful philanthropist. May God bless her memory! Mrs. Funmilayo Akinnuoye, May your Soul rest in perfect peace as I say a very Happy Birthday to myself (LadiSpeaks) https://ladispeaks.com/2016/05/26/birthday-tribute-to-my-late-mother-mrs-akinnouye-olufunmilayo/

Today is the #WorldMalariaDay and I will be talking about 10 facts about Malaria brought to you by Etisalat Nigeria. Malaria is one that everyone the world global has been fighting all together and it is highly imperative that we all are aware of how we can come together to fight this disease. 1. Malaria is caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected mosquitoes Malaria is caused by Plasmodium parasites that are spread to people through the bites of infected Anopheles mosquito vectors. Of the 5 parasite species that cause malaria in humans, Plasmodium falciparum is the most deadly. 2. Nearly half of the world's population is at risk of malaria (Approximately 3.2 billion people are at risk of malaria) Approximately 3.2 billion people are at risk of malaria. In 2015, there were an estimated 214 million malaria cases and some 438 000 malaria deaths. Young children, pregnant women and non-immune travellers from malaria-free areas are particularly vulnerable to the disease when they become infected. 3. Children under 5 are at high risk of malaria; In 2015, about 305 000 African children died before their fifth birthdays. In areas with high transmission of malaria, children under 5 are particularly susceptible to infection, illness and death. More than two thirds (70%) of all malaria deaths occur in this age group. In 2015, about 305 000 African children died before their fifth birthdays. 4. Since 2000, malaria mortality rates have fallen globally by 60% among all age groups, and by 65% among children under 5. Increased malaria prevention and control measures are dramatically reducing the malaria burden in many places. Since 2000, malaria mortality rates have fallen globally by 60% among all age groups, and by 65% among children under 5. 5. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment of malaria prevents deaths Early diagnosis and treatment of malaria reduces disease and prevents deaths. It also contributes to reducing malaria transmission. Access to diagnostic testing and treatment should be seen not only as a component of malaria control but as a fundamental right of all populations at risk. 6. Emerging artemisinin resistance is a major concern Parasite resistance to artemisinin, the core compound in WHO-recommended combination treatments for uncomplicated malaria, has been detected in 5 countries of south east Asia: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam. However, artemisinin-based combination therapies remain effective in almost all settings, as long as the partner drug in the combination is locally effective. 7. Sleeping under insecticide-treated mosquito nets protects against malaria Long-lasting insecticidal nets provide personal protection against mosquito bites. They can be used as protection for people most at risk of malaria, such as young children and pregnant women in high malaria transmission areas. The nets are effective for 2-3 years, depending on the model and conditions of use. Between 2000 and 2015, the proportion of children sleeping under an insecticide-treated net in sub-Saharan Africa increased from less than 2% to approximately 68%. 8. Indoor residual spraying is the most effective way to rapidly reduce malaria transmission The full potential of indoor residual spraying is obtained when at least 80% of houses in targeted areas are sprayed. Indoor spraying with insecticides kills the mosquito vector and is effective for 3–6 months, depending on the insecticide used and the type of surface on which it is sprayed. Longer-lasting forms of insecticides are under development. 9. Pregnant women are particularly at risk of malaria Pregnant women are at high risk of dying from the complications of severe malaria. Malaria is also a cause of spontaneous abortion, premature delivery, stillbirth and severe maternal anaemia, and is responsible for about one third of preventable low-birth-weight babies. For pregnant women living in moderate-to-high transmission areas, WHO recommends intermittent preventive treatment at each scheduled antenatal visit after the first trimester. 10. Malaria causes significant economic losses in high-burden countries In high-burden settings, malaria can trap families and communities in a downward spiral of poverty, disproportionately affecting marginalized and poor people who cannot afford treatment or who have limited access to health care. 10 facts on Malaria is brought to you by Etisalat Nigeria and the World Health Organization (WHO)

ollah1:I still do not understand how you mean when you say someone is paid to talk about a Brand or something! Does Man U pay you to defend them or Barca? What is now the fuss! Every time TECNO fans defend the brand, you assume it's paid! Lemme stop before I become emotional |
Wizy001:Okay |
walking past this thread like I never passed here.... |
I have been using the HiOS on the BOOm J8 which was launched last week. I decided that users of the same OS come together to discuss the OS, Share ideas and rub minds on what is going on with the Android UI owned by TECNO. For me, I have not discovered any issues since usage, Have you? |
I am personally happy with this UI Not too many complaints In fact, I'd create an official discussion thread for it sef |
gabylzy:An Itel phone Any problem with that? |
I want to buy a domain name and I need GoDaddy coupon code please.... |
keep the space asap and think of what to write clearly visibility problem *modified* Sincerely, I am disappointed at this move from the PDP. I am more disappointed because many youths do not have the financial capacity to challenge the status quo! This is the reason they keep sidelining us as young people and our voice do not count! We are not financial members of the party Anyone who is strategic and is looking to the future away from PDP/APC, although I am currently PDP can send me an email! We need to build up ourselves well enough to do something in the future. |
